Layla's POV:

The next week and a half carries on like this between Nicolae and I and the day of the celebration is upon us before we know it. The castle is bustling with people and the day before the celebration a taylor comes by and makes sure my gown doesn't need any alterations. Nicolae and I stay so busy throughout the day that when we finally retire to our room we both fall fast asleep. The next morning when Nicolae and I are greeting guests a familiar woman stops before me.

“Good day, your highness. It’s good to see you made it safely back and are well.” She says as she curtseys.

“Yes thank you.” I say as I curtsey back.

“I hope your daughter is well too.” She replies.

“Oh she's not my daughter. She is actually Nicolae’s little sister but their mother died and I’ve just sort of taken her under my wing.” I say with a smile.
