Maya's POV

This castle is so big and full of stupid, happy people. They walk around with their easy lives, not seeing the cracks in their own walls. But I see everything. I am a shadow, quiet and watchful. I learn their habits, their routines. I learn how to break them.

My room is next to Noah's. It is too soft, too warm. I am used to cold floors and hunger. But this is a tool, not a gift. It helps my plan.

The first thing I learned is the kitchen routine. Every day at noon, lunch is made for the Alpha. And every day, his mate, Valerie, brings it to him. It is their little ritual. A sign of their bond. I decided it would be my ritual now.

I went to the kitchen early, before Valerie was due to arrive. The old woman, was there, stirring a big pot.

"You are early, dear," she said, smiling kindly. Too kindly. It made me sick.

"I... I could not sleep," I whispered, making my eyes look wide and sad. "I thought I could help."

Just then, Valerie walked into the kitchen. She looked tired. She

  • The Dumb Cursed Heiress and Her Mates: Reborn For Revenge    The Public Snub

Nadia's POVThe great hall was buzzing with noise for the pack dinner. Long tables groaned under the weight of food, and the air smelled of roasted meat and fresh bread. But my stomach was in knots. I hadn't had a real conversation with Noah in so long. Maybe tonight, he will.I saw him standing near the head table. Taking a deep breath, I walked toward him, hoping to sit beside him, to maybe share a smile. But just as I reached for the chair, Maya appeared from nowhere. She slid into the seat with a practiced grace, looking up at Noah with wide, innocent eyes."Oh! I hope you don't mind, Noah," she said, her voice sweet. "This seat has the best view."Noah glanced at me, then back at her. He gave a small shrug. "It's fine, Maya. Make yourself comfortable."The dismissal stung. I stood there, frozen, as the people around us grew quiet. I could feel their stares. They were watching their Alpha's Wife, the girl he had marked as family, be publicly cast aside. From across the room, Neal

  • The Dumb Cursed Heiress and Her Mates: Reborn For Revenge    The Comforting Viper

Maya's POVI was hiding in the dark corner of the hallway, pressed against the cold stone wall, when I heard the shouting begin. My heart beat fast, not from fear, but from excitement. This was it. The big fight I had been working so hard to create.I couldn't see them, but I didn't need to. I could hear everything perfectly.Noah's voice roared through the courtyard. "LIAR!" he screamed. Then I heard something hit the ground, probably Valerie's notepad. Then came the words I had been waiting for. Noah's voice, cold as ice, said the magic words: "Maybe marrying you was a mistake. You're Neal's mate after all."I smiled in the darkness. Perfect.I heard his heavy footsteps storm away. I waited a few moments, then slipped out of my hiding spot. I made my face look soft and worried. I found a young maid dusting a vase nearby."Excuse me," I said, my voice full of fake concern. "I just heard shouting. Is Alpha Noah alright? He sounded so upset."The maid looked nervous. "He and the Luna h

  • The Dumb Cursed Heiress and Her Mates: Reborn For Revenge    The Broken Trust

Nadia's POVThe castle had been quiet for two long days. Too quiet. The kind of quiet that makes your own heart beat too loud in your ears, like a warning drum. Every corner of our home felt empty, even when it was full of people. Noah now when our eyes happened to meet by accident, his were empty and cold, like windows to a dark room. The man who had marked me as his own, seemed to be disappearing right before my eyes, and I felt powerless to stop it.I was in the great hall, trying to keep my hands and mind busy by arranging summer flowers from the garden. The bright yellows and reds usually brought me joy, but today they just looked sad. That’s when Maya appeared beside me."Good morning, Valerie," she said in that sweet, syrupy voice that always felt like poison wrapped in honey. "Those flowers are so pretty.”I kept my head down, focusing hard on the stem in my hand, hoping she would just go away. My fingers trembled slightly, and I prayed she wouldn't notice. But she didn't leav

  • The Dumb Cursed Heiress and Her Mates: Reborn For Revenge    The Bracelet

Noah's POVThe fight with Neal after the council meeting was the worst one yet. The angry words we shouted at each other still echoed in my head, bouncing off the walls of my mind. I could not escape them.“You are blind, Noah! Completely blind!” Neal had yelled, his face red with anger. His hands were shaking. “That girl is twisting your mind! She is putting poison thoughts in your head!”“And you are jealous!” I had roared back, my voice so loud it hurt my own throat. “You cannot stand that I finally found my true mate! You cannot stand that she sees the Alpha in me, while you only see a brother to argue with! You want me to be alone like you!”“This is not about mates!” he had screamed, stepping so close I could feel his hot breath. “This is about you being a fool! A stupid fool who cannot see the danger right in front of his face!”We were standing nose to nose, our chests almost touching. Our fists were clenched. I saw the wolf in his eyes, and I knew he saw the wolf in mine. Bu

  • The Dumb Cursed Heiress and Her Mates: Reborn For Revenge    The Divided Council

Nadia's POVThe council members called for a meeting with the Alpha's later in the day after Maya's bullshit with me.The big council room was full of angry voices. . Old man Hermlock, his face like wrinkled leather, was the loudest. The news was bad. Lucien was moving his warriors closer to our border. Carrying out his threat because I had embarrassed him during my coronation.I sat next to Neal, my hands tight in my lap. Noah sat at the head of the big stone table. His face was hard. . But his eyes were different. They were colder. Since Maya came, the light in them was gone.Maya herself sat in a chair in the corner, away from the table. She said she was just there to listen and learn. She kept her eyes down, her hands folded. She looked like a shy little mouse. But I knew better. I saw the snake hiding inside.“We must attack them first!” Old man Hermlock yelled, slamming his old, bony fist on the table. “Show Lucien we are not afraid!”“And start a war we are not ready for?” Neal
