Chapter 6

작가: Serious Snow
“Poppy! Where are you now? Are you hurt?” Brandon’s voice was trembling as he asked carefully.

“Huh?” Poppy was stunned.

“I’m not hurt. I went to a mountain to… prepare gifts for you. There’s no signal up there. That’s why you couldn’t reach me for the whole day.”

At that moment, Brandon suddenly froze.

He then frantically turned off the remote control and stopped the torture.

The currents immediately stopped.

I grimaced and looked at him mockingly.

“Brandon? Are you alright?” Poppy asked hesitantly.

“I’m fine… are you hurt?”

Poppy immediately started to sob. “Brandon, in order to pick that flower for you, the rocks cut my legs. I’m bleeding a lot now. I have just gotten them bandaged in the hospital.”

Brandon’s expression immediately changed.

“Send me your location. I’ll come over now!”

After he ended the call, Brandon finally shot me a glance.

“I’ve misunderstood you earlier.”

He sounded tense, but his eyes were still cold. “But it’s because of you that I delayed my plans in finding Poppy! Otherwise, my men would’ve located her a while back!”

I smiled mockingly and stared silently at him.

I did not say a word.

“Keep her here. If something happens to Poppy, she has to be responsible!”

Brandon instructed the bodyguards coldly.

However, he personally untied the contraptions on me and passed me a clean towel.

After he did that, he turned around and left.

The towel fell onto the floor. My eyes were cold when I stepped on it, as though it was trash.

I no longer cared about Brandon’s love and apology.

I was left alone in the basement. It was dark, so I could hardly see anything.

After a long while, the door cracked open, and light poured in.

“Aspen!”

Samuel, who used to call me an idiot, looked at me as he trembled.

He ran toward me and carefully wrapped me in his arms.

“Silly, don’t you know how… afraid I was of something happening to you? You look so pitiful, and I feel so bad.”

I looked at his face as my vision started to blur. Then, I lost my consciousness.

“Aspen, I’ll… make him pay for this.”

Samuel walked toward the light and carried me out of the basement.

“Brandon, I’ve already moved on from the past. I don’t need your explanation, and I don’t need your apology. I just wish for you to not disturb me again!” I said firmly and coldly, like how he said to me. All of a sudden, tears welled up in Brandon’s eyes. “I’m sorry… Sorry, Aspen. I’ve misunderstood you. I was wrong. Please, just kill me.” He ignored everyone’s gaze and fell onto his knees so hard that they started to bleed. Then, he begged for my forgiveness. Everyone was looking at me, but I did not stop him. I had given my all to him during our seven-year relationship. When his business had issues, I ignored my period pain and drank wine to entertain his business partners to get him some deals. When he was hospitalized, I did not sleep for three days to take care of him. Even when he wanted to break up with me and forced me to abort our unborn child, I had remembered every single detail. Why would he be deserving of my forgiveness over a fake apology? “Brandon

No!He refused to believe these! He still believed that I was the one who killed Holly. It was pouring. Brandon ran in the rain. “Mr. Fuller, where are you going?”His assistant chased behind him. “You have gastritis. You can’t be in the rain. You’ll be sick! Come back. I brought an umbrella for you!”However, Brandon did not turn around. The rain was cooling the irritation in him. In the security control room, Brandon roared at the workers. “I want the footage of that fire now!”Ten minutes later, Brandon stared intently at the surveillance footage. When he saw that girl dressed in white in the video, he dug his fingernails into his palm. A sense of hopelessness rose in him. It was… Poppy! He had mistaken the killer for the past two years! “Ah!”Brandon roared with bloodshot eyes. “Drag Poppy to my basement right now! Without my permission, no one can let her out!” “Alright!”Then, the assistant said hesitantly, “But Mr. Fuller, Ms. Taylor is pregnant. I

When we went out, Brandon suddenly appeared out of nowhere!“Aspen, aren’t you going to explain yourself to me?” Brandon glared intently at me. I did not answer. Then, I took out a photo of him and Poppy getting married and threw it at him. “I didn’t even ask you to explain yourself to me about you and Poppy.” I sneered. “Brandon, why are you so stubborn?” The photo left a cut on Brandon’s face, but he did not feel the pain. He grabbed that photo forcefully, as if he was about to press that photo into his chest. What was wrong with him?He stared at us while we drove away in our car. “Why does my heart… feel this weird? You’re the one who killed Holly.”At midnight, all the lights were on at the Fuller family’s mansion. “How dare you come back? Come over and admit your mistake!” Brandon’s grandfather, Peter Fuller, grabbed his walking stick and said angrily. The bodyguards immediately grabbed Brandon’s shoulders. “Let me go! I’m not going to beg for your forgivenes

“We have an arranged marriage, Aspen. Didn’t I inform you that tomorrow’s our wedding?”Brandon’s eyes were filled with rage. The next second, Samuel kicked Brandon in his abdomen. Samuel frowned and snatched me away from Brandon. “Brandon, I didn’t expect you to be a wife-snatcher! Aspen has already married me, don’t you know that?”Brandon felt his heart go cold. He stared at me, and his lips trembled. “Say that again. Aspen, why did you marry him?”I laughed from the irony. “You promised to marry me for 99 times over these past few months, but you have escaped every single one of them.“The first time, you abandoned me at the beach in my wedding dress for two days without caring about me. “The second time, you switched places with a homeless man. Everyone was throwing their wine at me as they laughed at me.“The third time, someone cut my wedding dress and shared revealing photos of me all over the internet!”I listed out all the times I was stood up and humiliated

Brandon stood before the French windows as his face fell. He frowned. “Who’s it?”It was the day of the wedding the next day. Poppy was wearing a delicate wedding dress as she walked toward Brandon. Everyone was clapping and praising the couple. “They’re a match-made in heaven! I heard that they have to keep this from Aspen! What a joke. She didn’t even know her fiance was getting married!” “That’s right! If it’s not an arranged marriage, who would marry someone who killed their older sister?” Everyone was gossiping, but a few of my past friends were clenching their fists. “Aspen is not like that!”“She’s explained the incident so many times! Why does no one believe her?”Too bad, their words were drowned in the sea of cheers. “Are you willing to take Poppy as your wife, Brandon?”The priest smiled and asked. Brandon’s knuckles were white. He was just about to say yes when suddenly someone called him. His forehead throbbed as he answered the call with shaking hand

The next day, Brandon and Poppy went to the city hall to get married. Poppy leaned her head against Brandon’s chest and said sweetly, “That’s great! Brandon, we’ll be a legal couple! We’ll be together forever, right?”“Of course.”Brandon was expressionless. However, he still felt a little troubled. A name kept appearing in his head. He then heard a familiar voice. “Happy marriage to you!” “Thank you!”When Brandon heard that, he immediately turned around and stared intently at that familiar figure. However, he could not see her face, because she was in someone else’s embrace! A suffocating and frantic feeling arose in Brandon’s heart. “Brandon, what are you looking at?” Poppy was a little anxious. That moment, Brandon’s expression sank.He did not speak a word for a long time. “I’m fine.”After they got married, Brandon excused himself by quoting work. “Wait for me at home.” In his office located on the top floor of the tallest building in the city, Brandon’s
