It was a beautiful summer day, the kind where the sun warms you down to your bones. I was so incredibly excited because it was just two days until my 21st birthday, which lands right on July 4th. And as luck would have it, a rare full blue moon is scheduled to light up the night sky on that exact evening, which is a major milestone for anyone, but especially for my kind. In our lore, a blue moon is considered a deeply spiritual and magical event. It is whispered that during this rare alignment, the sky holds a unique celestial energy that serves as an extra, powerful blessing directly from the Moon Goddess herself. This magical moon is said to amplify a wolf's natural traits and gift them with immense, extraordinary power far beyond a normal transformation.

In my family of wolves, the 21st birthday is already the monumental moment when your wolf finally shows their elements of power. If you're lucky, you get more than one. If you're unlucky, you get none at all. But even without an element, your wolf would still grow in strength and abilities. My oldest sister got incredibly lucky because Abigail's wolf had three elements, which were fire, wind, and earth. Because of that, my family had high hopes for me, especially with the added mythos of the upcoming blue moon blessing. But even if I didn't get an element, I knew they would still love and support me no matter what. Guess I'm really lucky in that aspect.

Oh, lol, by the way, my name is Brooke. When I'm not running through the woods, I'm attending college to get my doctorate's degree in finance. I'm at the very top of my class, and even if I say so myself, I got pretty lucky in the looks and friends department, too.

My family are the alphas of our pack, the Shining Star Pack. Our pack has absolutely no omega wolves. We don't believe in putting people down; we don't see rigid titles, we see people as our equals, as long as they grow, contribute, and learn traits that help the entire pack grow. Only our highest ranks hold formal titles, and that is the alphas, which is my family, and then the betas, which is my uncle Eric's family. Everyone else in our community are Deltas and Gammas. Now, other packs think we are completely strange, crazy, and unethical for running our territory this way. But our methods speak for themselves, as it has made us the strongest and wealthiest pack in the entire country.

Alpha Damien is my Dad. His wolf is called Blue Shadow because his fur literally glows a stunning, deep blue in the moonlight. His Luna, Krissy, is my mom. Her wolf is called Burning Star because she is a gorgeous golden wolf that glows bright like a shooting star traveling across the night sky. My oldest sister Abigail's wolf is called Silver Light because her wolf is pure white and glows silver under the moon, and her husband Rick's wolf is called Blue Lightning because his wolf is as fast and striking as lightning itself. They are currently being trained to be the next alphas of our pack.

Oh, and my own wolf is a unique, light blue color with vibrant pink tips on her fur. Her name is Pinkrose. Now, to help you understand how this works, when we are bonding with our wolves at age 16, that is the moment when we agree on a name together. Running in our wolf forms for the very first time is when we truly started to understand each other and connect.

As for the rest of the inner circle, my Uncle Eric's family consists of my Aunt Linda and their twins, Jack and Jordan. Both of the twins are my exact age, and we are all really close, almost like siblings. Okay, enough about my family tree for now, let's get back to my story. After spending the entire day spinning around the mall and shopping for my upcoming birthday party, my feet were tired and it was finally time for bed.

The next day, I decided to take a break from all the birthday stress and join my friends. We decided to go enjoy the beautiful sun at Crescent Lake, a gorgeous spot where the water is always crystal clear. My closest friends in the world are Dawn, Bella, Casey, John, and Drake. We were swimming, splashing around, and having a wonderful time just enjoying ourselves and the warm weather.

But like always, someone has to come along and ruin a perfect day.

A very old and close family friend named Ms.Polly, who happens to be a witch, was standing on the edge of the woods, watching us for a couple of minutes before finally calling my name. Now, I know, I know, in a lot of stories about witches and wolves, the two species don't coexist and are usually at each other's throats. But not in my town. We get along with them perfectly, and we always listen closely when they tell us something.

As I got out of the cool, clear water and reached for my towel to dry off, a sudden, freezing cold chill ran straight down my spine, feeling exactly like a bad omen. And boy, was I right. When Ms. Polly, a powerful witch who could see the future, stepped out of the shadow of the tree line, my heart stopped for a second.

"Hey, Ms. Polly, what can I help you with today?" I called out, trying to shake off the nervous feeling.

"Brooke, I've been looking for you," she said, her eyes serious. "Care to take a walk with an old lady?"

"Of course, Ms. Polly, I would love to walk with you," I replied, turning back to the lake to wave at the group. "Just one sec. Hey guys, I'm taking a walk with Ms. Polly. I'll see y'all later!"

Little did I know, as I stepped into the woods with her, I was about to get the absolute shock of my life.

  • The Element Wolves   The Morning After

The morning sun broke sharply over the damp tree line, casting long, golden rays across the expansive training fields of the pack territory. The morning dew hung heavily in the air, clinging to the blades of grass and coating the leather boots of the warriors who had already been running intense endurance drills for hours. The crisp dawn air was filled with the sound of synchronous breathing and the rhythmic thud of heavy footsteps hitting the dirt. On this particular morning, however, the atmosphere on the training grounds carried an undeniable undercurrent of curiosity and tension. Standing near the perimeter of the dust arena, under the watchful, protective eyes of both Steele and Stone, were Abigail and I. Unlike the previous day, where we had been permitted to rest, recover, and process the trauma of our captivity within the quiet luxury of the isolated sixth floor, the top leaders had made it clear that attendance on the field this morning was non negotiable. It was a highly ta

  • The Element Wolves   Safe Heavens and Secret Realities

The journey ahead is long, Mis. Polly said. But you are ready now. Your minds are clear, and your spirits are strong. I walked over to the high witch. I felt a sudden pang of reluctance at the thought of leaving this safe sanctuary. I turned to look at Steele and Stone, then back to the older woman. Ms. Polly, I said, my voice steady. We are going to our new pack today. We need you to come with us to the Crescent Pack. There is a place for you there, a sanctuary within our territory where you can be close to us and keep a watchful eye on the internal politics. Abigail stepped up beside me. Please, Polly. Come with us. You are family now. Steele stepped forward, bowing his head to the high witch. The Crescent Pack would be honored to harbor a witch of your stature. You will have your own land and the absolute protection of my force. You helped save our lives, and you will always have a home among us. Ms. Polly looked at us, a brilliant smile breaking across her features. I suppose

  • The Element Wolves   The Healing of Magic and Paws

For the first few weeks, I was not a warrior. I was a fractured mess. Every time I tried to control and understand all my elements I kept blowing things up. My hate for what we lost on my own birthday because of a selfish wolf who could destroy my perfect life and take so much from us made me volatile. I couldn't focus like Ms. Polly and Steele asked me to. I just wanted revenge, now, not later. But Steele kept reminding me that in order to give justice to those we lost and to protect the ones who survived, I had to let the hate go. It was justice for my pack and all the other packs that came to my party and lost someone because of the dark wolf. When I looked over at Steele, he wasn't watching me with pity. He was watching me with the steady, unwavering belief of a warrior who knew my true weight. I stopped trying to control the power. I stopped trying to shape it like a tool. Instead, I remembered the exact moment the fortress gates slammed shut behind us. I remembered the feeling

  • The Element Wolves   The Dark Order

The fortress office was cold, smelling of old iron and the metallic tang of Lucius's own internal pressure. He was not pacing in a frantic rage anymore. He was calm. He was an Alpha of the highest Dark order, bred for command, and he knew that an Alpha who lost his temper lost his pack. He stood over his desk, his movements deliberate, his hands folded behind his back as he studied the topographical map of the northern territory. He had been trained since he was a whelp to be a guardian. He knew the maneuvers, the choke points, the way to bleed a forest dry of its defenses. But those lessons were now a perversion of their original intent. He looked at the map, his mind mapping out tactical zones for the extraction. He was using his training to hunt the very things he was born to protect, genuinely believing that the power Brooke and Abigail held was meant to be the crown for him and his Beta Malachi. "They must think they lost their whole pack because they broke themselves out," Lu

  • The Element Wolves   The bonding Vow

The dawn did not break with a sudden burst of light over the warded woods; instead, it arrived as a slow, silvery mist that crept through the massive vaulted windows of the estate. Downstairs, the vast mansion was entirely quiet, but in the upper wings, the heavy silence of the night was already fracturing under the weight of the coming day. In the high-ceilinged kitchen area of the suite, the air smelled sharply of rich, dark coffee. Steele stood by the marble island, clad only in a pair of dark tactical trousers, his bare chest map-marked with old silver burn scars from the raid that had redefined his life. He stared down into his mug, his jaw tight. He had not slept a wink. His inner wolf had spent the entire night pacing a tight perimeter behind his ribs, entirely fixated on the scent of sweet rain and pine that drifted from the bedroom down the hall, which was the unmistakable mark of Brooke. Every instinct he possessed screamed at him to claim her, to wrap his arms around her

  • The Element Wolves   We Have to Move On

Down the hall, far removed from the grand foyer where the evening’s tense negotiations had unfolded, Brooke and Abigail were tucked away into the safety of their own sanctuary. The bedroom suite was both beautiful and absurdly spacious, a room built for royalty rather than two exhausted runaway wolves. The hearth crackled with steady, golden heat, casting long, amber shadows across the dark mahogany ceiling beams. Outside the leaded glass windows, the night wind howled against the mountainside, but inside, the air was thick with the rich scents of dried lavender, aged cedar, and the faint, ozone-sweet hum of Ms. Polly’s warding magic. Yet, despite the opulent comfort surrounding them, the atmosphere between the two sisters remained taut, vibrating with a whirlwind of intense, unspoken emotions. For a month, their world had been cold stone, bruised knuckles, wet pine needles, and the lingering, metallic stench of silver chains from the prison camp, and living in the wild. To suddenly s
