“I thought Bailey was a tough nut to crack, but she fell head over heels for Jeremy once he pursued her.”

“Everyone knows that all along, Jeremy only likes Charlotte. He won’t give other women a single chance.”

“I’m really interested to watch Bailey’s reaction once she learns about our bet.”

Jeremy Goodman’s friends were teasing him. He snuffed his cigarette and wrapped a scarf around my shoulder.

“It’s very windy on the yacht. Don’t catch a cold.”

I looked at the man that I had been in a relationship with for seven years and silently disapproved of his friends’ conversation.

Jeremy seemed to read my thoughts. He pinched my cheek and said lovingly, “Let’s get married after I win this bet.”

Right outside the door, something dropped and hit the ground with a thud. It was Bailey Scott.

Her face was pale as she turned around and ran away.

Jeremy, who had been so gentle to me just a moment ago, chased after Bailey.

His fingernail brushed my cheek and left a small cut.

Everyone looked at me, Jeremy’s official girlfriend, with mockery.

In the past, the women around Jeremy would never show up before me.

Bailey was a special case. Jeremy had spent a lot of money to get her to volunteer and donate her kidney to me.

When Jeremy pursued her, everyone in the upper-class circle was shocked.

When Bailey rejected his check, he bought all the alcohol at the bar she worked at.

When Bailey worked in food delivery services, he would clear the traffic with expensive cars.

Bailey said that they came from completely different walks of life, so he accompanied her to eat cheap fast food. In the end, he got gastritis and was hospitalized.

He dragged me to the deck. “Did you do that on purpose?

“Did you ask her to send you medicine on purpose for her to overhear our conversation?”

His eyes were cold and distant. I could not help but to reevaluate Bailey’s importance to him.

My scarf was blown away by the wind. I coughed and said, “How would I know what you’ll be talking about?”

“I’ve told you that you can do whatever you want to me, but you can’t hurt her.

“Otherwise, you’ve seen what I’m capable of.”

He used to love me so deeply, but as time passed, I had to put up with constantly increasing bells and whistles.

I was indeed afraid of what he was capable of.

Once, I brought up a limited-edition luxury bag before Bailey and hurt her dignity.

Jeremy had locked me in a room to reflect, and he did not let me out for a long while.

I had to endure the pain from my illness.

My phone buzzed. It was a text message from Bailey.

After reading her proposed bet, I glanced at Jeremy, who had walked away.
