For several moments after Grayson’s puzzling outburst then abrupt exit, Amberleigh and Leo were quiet. Both trying to process what had just occurred and what their friend was thinking. Was Grayson feeling guilt over their threesome? Guilt that he’d tasted Amber while Leo was asleep and had intended to fuck her after?

Amber pulled her body from Leo’s and sighed.

“Do you want to go talk to him or should I?”

“You can Love. And I’ll make us some breakfast.”

Amber raised a brow, “You think he’ll listen to me?”

“I think you have a better chance getting him to talk than I do Love.”

Amber didn’t know if she agreed, but she was willing to give it a shot. Leo was the one who could usually get the tight-lipped billionaire to open up. But Amber figured she’d made some progress lately with the father of her child.

She gave Leo a kiss, “Wish me luck. And cook us something with meat. Need to replenish after last night.”

“Of course they’ll be meat. What kind of man do you think I am?” he grinned.

Mine,” she answered huskily.

She slipped off the bed with a smile. As Amber searched the floor in hopes to find a pair of house shoes against the cold marble, she felt Leo’s hand on her shoulder. His kiss was gentle against her cheek.

“Are you okay Love? After what happened with him?”

“Why wouldn’t I be?”

“He got a bit rough. I just wanted to make sure he didn’t hurt you.”

Amber gave her kind hearted man a sweet kiss. His heart was so big and he felt all the emotions of those around him. Tried to fix the aches and hurts and make it better.

“He didn’t hurt me, babe. I encouraged him. I’m going to go check on him.”

“Okay Love. I’ll get started on that breakfast.”

Amber left Leo and headed towards the other love of her life. She paused to knock on the bathroom door, already knowing she was entering regardless. It was just a formality really, as she pushed the door open.

Grayson stood with his hands gripping the sink, head down, body shuddering. The shower ran unoccupied behind him. He lifted his head to watch her approach in the mirror.

“What’s wrong?” she asked.

A strangled laugh escaped his throat, “What’s wrong? I lost control and crossed a fucking line! I practically raped you Amber. I was too rough. You told me to wait.”

Her heart thudded in her chest. It wasn’t what she’d expected to hear.

“Grayson no. I didn’t tell you to stop. I was into it. You were into it. I liked it. Fuck, I came hard because if it. You didn’t hurt me Grayson. And I know if I’d told you to stop, you would have.”

She laid a hand on his shoulder. She could feel the tightness in his body. He didn’t relax beneath her touch but only stiffened more.

“Would I have though?...Don’t make excuses for me Amber. I got too aggressive and I could have hurt you. And I don’t know if it was because I got too excited or if it was because of my…”

Grayson ran a hand through his hair, unable to bring himself to say the words. Amber’s heart clenched inside her chest so tightly it hurt. Oh God, he was wondering if he’d gotten so aggressive because he was into it or if it was because of his disease. If his symptoms were getting worse. Aggression and anger could both be caused by Huntington’s destroying brain tissue. Her heart went out to him.

She wrapped her arms around him, “Grayson don’t think like that. We all were having fun. You didn’t do anything wrong. You have nothing to apologize for. Don’t fucking beat yourself up over this. Besides we probably should have come up with a safe word beforehand.”

He breathed deep, “I don’t want to hurt you Amber.”

“You won’t. I love you Grayson.”

“I love you too. And that’s why last night can’t happen again Amber. I don’t want to risk it. And I don’t want Leo getting hurt either. I’m unstable. And this is only bound to end badly.”

Amber pulled back from the hug. If that was what Grayson really wanted, then she would respect his decision. But while his mouth said those words, she doubted it was what his heart wanted.

“Is that what you really want?” she questioned, “because we all had a good time. And it felt right. You know it did Grayson.”

He turned around to face her head on.

“And what do you propose Amber? That the three of us keep carrying on and fucking? Like it’s some sustainable relationship?”

“Yes I do. I love both of you. And I’m not going to choose between you. Fuck what the world has to say about it Grayson! All that matters is what we want.”

“There will come a time when you have to choose Amber,” he said softly.

“I already fucking have. It’s the three of us. Always and forever.”

Amber cupped his cheeks and pulled his lips to hers. She poured her feelings for him into that kiss. This would work. It fucking had to! At first he kissed her back hesitantly, but soon enough his lips molded to hers, his tongue found hers.

When he broke the kiss, breathless, still entangled in her arms, he said the words which both hurt her heart and made it feel better at the same time.

“I don’t have forever Amber. But the time I do have, I want to spend it with you. And our daughter. And Leo.”

She took a deep breath and fought back her tears. No need to fall apart in front of him. It was the last thing he needed. What Grayson needed to help him get through was for her to be there for him. To be strong. To love him through all the ups and downs. Even his quiet moods, his angry ones, his sad ones. It was easy to love him and hold him when he spoke words like this, kissed her, and held her close. But it was harder to do when he had anger in his eyes, shut her out, or said hurtful things. But Amber was ready to love all those shades of Grayson unconditionally and be there for him until the end. Always and their forever.

“We'll make it work,” she promised him, “you. Me. Our daughter, and Leo. One big, happy family.”

“We can sure as hell try. The selfish part of me doesn’t want to let you go. So I’m willing to try anything if it means I get to be with you for even a moment more,” he confessed.

She brushed another kiss upon his tender lips.

“You don’t have to let me go Grayson. I’m not going fucking anywhere. I’m right here and this is where I’ll be. Nothing you do or say will push me away this time.”

Amber had made that mistake last time. Letting him push her out of his life. She hadn’t fought for him that day Grayson had announced his engagement to the cunt Courtney. She’d left without a fight. Never fucking again. Amber would fight for this life. For him. For Leo. For their daughter. No matter the odds stacked against them. Because she finally had something worth fighting for.

Amber gave Grayson a final kiss and excused herself to give him the privacy to shower. It had been tempting to join him, but she figured he could use some alone time. Besides Leo was waiting for her. No doubt just as concerned for Grayson as she had been. Leo had loved him first after all.

But when Grayson had stepped into the black and white marbled shower and Amber headed towards the door, she heard him gasp. She turned around to see him shivering. She stuck her hand under the steam of water and immediately recoiled. It was beyond cold. Beyond what a person would stand to cool off their temper or arousal.

“For fuck sake Grayson! Don’t punish yourself like this! You don’t deserve it,” she scolded.

Amber reached into the shower and turned on the hot water while his teeth chattered. His dick had shriveled up alright, but so had his fingers and toes.

“I forgot actually. I thought it help me cool down.”

“Don’t do that shit again. That was just barbaric. Besides we can’t have your dick falling off now can we?” she smiled to lighten the mood.

“I think my balls already have,” he teased.

She patted his wet shoulder, “No, I took them. They belong to me now. Now wash up like a good boy. Then join us for breakfast. And they’ll be no arguments on the fuckin’ subject.”

He laughed, “Yes my highness.”

“Glad to see your finally figuring out who’s in charge around here.”

Amber left the bathroom then. It warmed her heart to hear him chuckle again behind her. To hear his muttering about the power going to her head. Damn straight she was in charge. Amber was the fucking queen. And God help those who hurt her boys or the princess she carried. God help those who stood in her fucking way to her happy ending.

Luckily, Leo had saved the heavy topic of conversation for the next morning. Not that Amber had given him much choice in the matter as she had pretended to be asleep when he finally crawled into bed beside her that night. The chef laid it on a bit thick in the morning though, when she’d awoken to breakfast in bed and then a foot massage.“What’s all this for?” Amber asked as she speared a piece of sausage with her fork.“Because I love you. And a queen deserves to be pampered.”The scent of vanilla filled the room as Leo squirted some on his hands to rub into her feet. It felt divine. The food tasted wonderful as she hadn’t realized how hungry she’d been until the first bite hit her tongue. She’d skipped dinner last night after all.She snorted, “Don’t get me wrong, I like it. But you didn’t have to do all this babe. I told you last night on the phone I was fine with you spending time at the hospital.”“With Elle there. I think we should get our feelings out in the open Love. I didn’t

Amberleigh felt like she was intruding on what should have been a private moment between Leo and Elle. It had been five months since Leo had last seen the woman he’d once planned on spending his life with. Circumstances had pulled them apart, but had fate now brought them back together again? Was this the universe’s way of telling them all they had it all wrong? That Leo and Elle were destined to be together, and Amber was destined to be alone.Amber had once thought she’d be forever parted from Grayson, then a baby in her belly, and a life changing phone call had put him back into her life. But now he’d chosen to walk away from her once again. But watching Elle and Leo just gaze at each other with so many emotions on their faces, only helped Amber realize, that neither of them had walked away from each other in any ways that mattered. In any ways but the physical. Physical distance was often less painful than emotional.Elle and Leo looked like those people who could go a month witho

Amberleigh had cried herself to sleep in Leo’s arms that morning. When she woke up, puffy eyed, she cried some more. Every time she believed she had a handle on her tears, they seemed to come upon her again. Sometimes they crept upon her softly with seemingly little explanation and thoughts of sadness. Sometimes they came on violently with thoughts of anger. Needless to say, after an exhausted day of tears, Amber was in no mood to accompany Leo to the annual Godwin Foundation scholarship dinner that night. The last place she wanted to be was staring at Grayson and Courtney pretending to be a happy couple from across the table. To add salt to her wounds, she’d also be forced to play nice to Hugo Van Tessin, to face that evil bastard for the first time. And Daddy Godwin, another man she cared little for would also be in attendance. It seemed almost more than she could handle, especially in her current state of mind. She was a liability tonight and doubted all the concealer in the world

Hostility, resentment, and unresolved feelings weren’t the only things waiting for Amberleigh back at the penthouse. Mr. Duvall, she assumed had placed their mail in Leo’s room. That was not odd in itself, but what was odd, was that Amber had gotten a letter at the penthouse. Few people knew she had resided there, and all her mail usually went to a P.O. box.At the penthouse, she’d gotten a random postcard once from Ebony as a joke, but that had been it. This time was different, it felt different as Amber looked at the cardboard envelope handwritten to her with no return address. But it didn’t have enough weight to it to be like a bomb or anything. At least she hoped anyway. Her imagination ran away with her, and she imagined getting anthrax or something from this mysterious letter from sender unknown.Leo was puttering around the room unpacking, being un-Leo like in his quietness. Still an after effect of the revelation and fight with his best friend. Not once did he make a joke or s

  • The Endgame (book 4 of The Arrangement Series)   Chapter 46- I may not like you right now brother, but I will always love you

Grayson knocked on the bathroom door once to check on Amberleigh. She sent him away requesting to be left alone. A short time later, the billionaire didn’t even attempt to get back into bed with her and Leo, instead placing himself at the other side of the warehouse in her school work space. It was for the best as she certainly wasn’t up for cuddling with her baby daddy right now.Amber doubted she’d be able to fall asleep even after she snuggled up against Leo’s back. Her chef stirred and turned until he was facing her. She was greeted by a wide, sleepy smile. She found one for him somehow and snuggled in closer, wrapping her arm around his waist and burying her face into his bare chest. Safe and steady and warm Leo. While Grayson was often reckless and unstable and cold. Leo had always been the safer choice.“Good morning, Love. How’d you sleep?” he asked with a yawn.“I’ve slept better,” she replied honestly.“Bad dream?”He kissed between her eyes as if to kiss away the worry line

She let out a deep breath and Grayson noticed her trying to cut him with her hard gaze.“Are you seriously suggesting what I think you are suggesting?” Amber demanded, “I don’t even know who you are right now.”Grayson merely sighed at her, as if she was an impertinent child and he was irritated by her interruption. By her trying to bring some fucking decency and morality back into the room. He’d lost his fucking mind for sure. This was not the way. This was not justice. It was vengeance.“And what does Van Tessin love most?” asked Ambrov.Grayson eye’s held Amber’s as he began to speak, “Money,” his eyes turned back to Ambrov, “Hugo love’s money above all else. If he loses it, it will destroy him. That’s the way to bring about his downfall. Destroy it from within by bankrupting him. Break down those contracts. Block new ones. Hold the monopoly on the market for his most prosperous goods. I know you are more than capable of making this happen Mr. Ambrov.”Amber sighed internally. At l
