Valerie could not stop laughing. He sounded so confident and she admired that. "Isn't your Alpha ruthless?" She asked. "How could you joke with his name so easily?" Is his reputation that bad? He wondered. "Tell me more," he said, and she furrowed her brows. "You don't know about your Alpha?" He coughed slightly. "I-I am new here." Valerie nodded. She could tell. She decided to tell him everything she knew about him. "You can't let anyone know about this," she mumbled and he nodded. "Thank you for telling me all these," he said and she smiled. "You are welcome." He stood up. "I should return to my post." Valerie nodded. "See you around." He smiled. "By the way, are you a maid here?" Valerie nodded. "Yes, but I won't be staying for long though." "You're leaving? Didn't you just get here?" Valerie furrowed her brows. How did he know she was new here? "How..." "I mean I have been here a few days earlier and this is the first time I am meeting with you." Valerie sighed.

Diana took Valerie to the maids' quarters and gave her clothes to change into."You can take your bath over there." She pointed. "And rest here when you are done eating." Valerie nodded. Diana left and Valerie went to take her bath. She got dressed and then sat down to eat the food Diana had brought. Valerie woke up very early to get ready for her journey to the Fire Pack. She needed to leave the Pack before most of the Pack members were awake, or she might be blamed again for leaving when the Pack is in trouble. Just like Valerie's cousin, Alpha Jason had promised, her father was sent to the Starlight Pack for treatment. Valerie felt relieved knowing that her father would receive the best care.
