Chapter Seventy Six: The Clock is Ticking

The air in the hospital room was so thick with secrets it was hard to breathe.

Julian could feel it. He sat propped up against the pillows, forcing a smile, teasing Peter about some stupid old memory. But every laugh felt hollow.

They were treating him like a bomb about to go off.

“Will you all stop hovering?” Julian finally snapped, the cheerful mask cracking. “I can breathe on my own, you know.”

He stumbled back, clawing at his neck where the needle had gone in. But it was too late. The fast-acting poison in his own syringe was already working, turning his muscles to stone. His legs gave out. He slumped hard against a crate, his body going rigid. His mouth worked, trying to form words, to curse them, to beg, but only a choked, wet gurgle came out. He was awake and aware but he was utterly, completely helpless.Sebastian stood over him, a cold, satisfied smirk on his face. No words were needed. Ryan could see it all now…the lies, the setup, how completely he’d been played.Julian got to his feet. He brushed the warehouse dust from his clothes, then wiped the theatrical smear of fake blood from his temple. He looked down at Ryan, and there was no pity in his eyes. None. Only a deep,

Chapter Seventy-Seven: The Trap and Crack in Time. Sebastian pushed the door open way past midnight, the click echoing too loud in the quiet apartment. His knuckles were split and bleeding, dried blood crusted under his nails, dark circles carved deep under his eyes like he hadn’t slept in days. He looked like hell, felt like it too, every step heavy with secrets he couldn’t say out loud. Aiden was waiting up again, leaning against the kitchen counter with a mug gone cold in his hands. Worry was written all over his face, the same worry that never left anymore. He didn’t ask about the bruises…he’d stopped asking weeks ago because Sebastian never gave real answers, just shrugs and half-smiles that hurt more than lies. Instead, Aiden’s voice came out soft, careful. “Are you really alright?”Sebastian didn’t answer with words. The weight in his chest was too heavy, guilt and fear choking him. He crossed the room in three strides, cupped Aiden’s face with those bloody hands, an

Six men were on their knees, hands tied, faces already a mess of bruises. Enzo stood over them like a stone statue, he turned as Caesar entered. “They’re not talking.” Caesar didn’t rush. He took off his coat, folded it slowly. He rolled up his sleeves, each movement calm, precise. “They will,” he said, his voice quiet. A cold smirk touched his lips. “It’s been a while since I got my hands dirty for the right reason.” He walked up to the first captive, without warning, his fist snapped out. The crack of bone against bone echoed like a gunshot in the hollow space. The man slumped with a groan. Caesar moved to the next one, a younger guy already shaking so hard his teeth chattered. He knelt, his eyes like black ice. “Who gave you the order to run my husband off the bridge?” he asked,
