Victor POV

I sat in my office all day thinking of tomorrow night, when I get to pick up Daya from the airport, when Liam knocked on my office door. He sat in the chair across from my desk and asked, “A few of us are going to the bar tonight. Are you coming?” I sighed as I sat back in my chair, “No. Harley is expecting me for dinner tonight for some reason. I need to give her some papers anyway.”

Liam’s eyebrows raised as he asked, “Are you seriously thinking about divorcing her?” I nodded, “I’m not thinking about it. I’m doing it.” Liam asked, “Man, I need to know why.” I shrugged, “She’s okay, as far as housewives go, but not stunning enough to take to events.” Liam shook his head at me, “Are you crazy? Dude, I would kill for a wife like her. She’s beautiful, smart, and her life revolves around you. Sorry, but I think you’re going blind.”

I shook my head in disagreement, “Daya will be coming back tomorrow night. She’s the one I want. If my dad hadn’t insisted, I would’ve never married Harley.” Liam countered, “Everything you love about Daya is fake. Your wife is all natural and beautiful. You are making the biggest mistake of your life. Just let me know when you do it. I want to be there to help her heal.”

I don’t know why, but I growled, “Stay away from her.” Liam growled back at me, “Try me. You may be stupid, but I’m not. I’m going to the bar. If you want to join us, I’ll see you there. If not, I’m still going.” Then the fucker stood up and left. I didn’t need his approval, but I never expected to be told my best friend wanted her, if I didn’t. I have no idea why I suddenly got possessive. Didn’t I just tell him I don’t want her?

Harley has nothing on Daya. Dayanara Lachland, is a prominent socialite who I have known since grade school. She was my first crush, the subject of my first wet dream and my first girlfriend. She became a model right out of high school, then crossed over into acting only a couple years later.

Harley is beautiful with long black hair and striking green eyes. They look like they can see right through you. That’s exactly the reason I stayed away from her as much as possible. I didn’t want her to see that I could care less about her as a wife. I don’t love her and she knows it.

Daya is a blonde bombshell with bright blue eyes. Her body is perfection; perfect tits, ass and her legs go on for days. Her skin is like silk and her performances in bed have always been the stuff of my fantasies. She is all around perfection in every way for me. She split up with me a few years ago. She said she didn’t want to be married when she started acting. She wanted to be seen as the pure, innocent type of woman.

It killed me to let her go, but I wanted her to live out her dream. I was beyond heartbroken for months. She was my forever and I lost her.

When she called me last week saying she was coming home and she wanted us to pick up where we left off, I didn’t hesitate to see my attorney. I wanted a divorce agreement written. I told him what I wanted to give Harley and he had them done today. I picked them up this morning before I got to work.

After talking with Liam, I wondered what he saw in Harley. To me, she was just a plain girl that I just knew would do nothing in bed. Although, there was that one night… the night I got shitfaced drunk and thought I was fucking Daya. I had convinced myself that it was Daya because Harley would not be this wild.

We fucked in three different positions that night and she enjoyed every one of them… until I came and said Daya’s name. That was when she went stiff as a board and turned over as soon as I was out of her. I pulled her close and spooned her for the rest of the night. When I got up the next morning and noticed I was holding Harley and she was naked. I couldn’t get out of bed fast enough.

I went to the bathroom and started the shower while I took my morning piss. I was trying to remember what happened the night before when I stepped into the shower. When I noticed the blood washing off of my dick onto the shower floor I gasped and whispered, “Fuck.” How did I not know Harley had been a virgin? I guessed I never cared enough to ask. I got dressed as quietly as I could and snuck out of the house without waking her. I was a fucking coward.

I sighed as I realized I was daydreaming and decided I would head home, not knowing why Harley insisted I come home tonight. When I parked my car in the driveway, I got out and went inside. As always, she met me at the foyer and helped me out of my jacket. She was asking questions and I was answering in short answers.

She led me to the table where she had cooked a lot of my favorite dishes. I had never told her, but she was an amazing cook. The food smelled heavenly, but she had candles lit and she was wearing a dress that I had seen before but never paid attention to how it showed her cleavage. That was when I realized today was our anniversary.  She looked beautiful, but not better than Daya. I finally had to stop her constant questions and told her I want a divorce.

I thought Harley would crumble to the floor in tears and beg me not to do it. Instead, she was pissed. I had never seen her even the least bit angry before. She was always a happy woman… annoyingly so. She was certainly not happy. I handed the papers to her and she insisted on taking a few days to have her attorney look at them. I knew anyone who looked at them, without researching how much I am now worth, would think I was being more than fair.

I went upstairs to my room and packed a bag for the next couple of days. When I went back to the living room she was standing there with her arms crossed. She was so angry, I was almost afraid of her. When I told her I knew my timing sucked, she had such a brazen comeback, I was left speechless for a second. I just told her I would be back in a couple of days to pick them up and we would talk about where to go from here. When she threatened to start throwing shit, I left.

I got in my car and reflected on something she said. I had told her that I had never seen this side of her and she told me there are a lot of sides to her that I’ve never seen and will never see now. She told me that I never even gave the marriage a chance.

After dropping off my stuff at the villa, I decided I would join the guys at the bar. When I got there, I guess I must have had a guilty expression on my face. Liam just shook his head at me, “You actually did it.” I huffed, “And on our second anniversary, at that. I’m a douchebag.”

Liam stood up, “I got nothing, man. I gotta go.” Then he left.

After the judge went to his chambers, Lacey approached Victor and I saw him nod and say something to her. When she came back to me, she smiled, “Let’s go to the conference room.” We all walked across the hallway and found Victor and Theodore sitting at the table. Daniel and I sat across from them and I sighed, “I guess you’re wondering what would make me change course and insist on a meeting with you.”Victor nodded, “That’s basically what was running through my head all day.” I took a deep breath, “Well, I know you were wondering about why I have to reduce my stress levels too. So, let me explain without interruptions.” I watched as he and his father nodded their heads. I continued, “On the day that I moved my stuff out of the house, I collapsed as soon as everything was brought to my new place.“Luckily, Lacey was still there and she called an ambulance. I was in the ambulance when I woke up. After the doctor ran blood work, she told me that I was dehydrated and pregnant. The stress

Lacey approached Winifred and started, “Mrs. Cross, is it ok to call you Winifred?” Winifred huffed, “Absolutely not. You will address me as Mrs. Cross.” Lacey smirked, “That’s fine. Mrs. Cross, are you sure your previous testimony will stand up to evidence we currently have?” Winifred smirked, “Of course.”Lacey went to our table and pulled a thumb drive out of her briefcase, “Mrs. Cross, are you aware that Harley set up cameras of her own in the house two weeks before she left, so that she could have evidence against you?” Winifred stuttered, “N… No. I… I did not know.” Lacey continued, “Well, you know that it is entirely legal because she did it for her own security. After the beating that put her in the hospital, she was not going to let it go unpunished again.” Winifred huffed, “I did not do that to her”.Lacey asked, “Then who did it to her? Apparently, you were there. Which one of your friends are you going to throw under the bus? Because we all now know that your friends were t

Lacey stood in front of Victor and smiled, “Hello, Mister Cross, so, the agreement that you approached your wife with was three million dollars one mansion, the beach house and two cars. Is that correct?” Victor nodded, “Yes, it was.” Lacey asked, “Mister Cross, for the record, how much are you currently worth?” Victor took a deep breath and answered, “Approximately five-hundred billion.”Gasps were heard loudly throughout court room and Judge Trayner banged his gavel, “Order in the court. I will not tolerate outbursts.” Lacey asked, “Your wife worked in your clothing design firm also. Is that correct?” Victor nodded, “She did. To be honest, it wouldn’t hurt my feelings at all if she came back. She was my best designer.” I chuckled as I slowly shook my head.Lacey asked, “How much do you think her designs have generated for your company?” Victor answered, “We keep track of that for each designer. The last time I checked for Harley, that amount was two billion. I’m sure there will be mo

During the break, we went to a conference room across from the courtroom. Daniel had lunch delivered and I was a very happy woman. He ordered big greasy burgers and fresh fries. I kissed him soundly for the special treat. He laughed, “Only you would consider a burger and fries a special treat.” I smiled, “I was really craving this. It’s almost like you were reading my mind.”After I was done eating, Lacey sighed, “This is going to be the rough part, sweetie. They will be putting all your favorite people on the stand. That includes Winifred, Daya and Victor. I fully expect Winifred and Daya to lie under oath. If any of their lies are about you, we will immediately file a defamation of character lawsuit. I will not let it go unpunished”.I nodded in understanding, took a deep breath and sighed, “Let’s go. I just want it done.” Daniel hugged me, “It’s going to be alright, love. Why don’t we go out to eat tonight? We can do something fun afterwards.” I raised my eyebrows and smiled, “Salsa

When everyone was seated, Judge Trayner pointed to our table, “Miss Gordon, please call your first witness.” Lacey stood, “Your Honor, I would like to call the petitioner, Harlequin Frost.” I walked up to the stand and held up my right hand as I swore to tell the truth, so help me God. I sat down in the chair provided and aimed the microphone toward me.Lacey asked, “Ms. Frost, you are the current wife of the defendant, Victor Cross. Are you not?” I answered, “I am.” Lacey asked, “And you are suing for divorce on the grounds of adultery and emotional abuse. Is this correct?” I answered, “That’s correct.”Lacey picked up a stack of paper that was three inches high and handed it to the bailiff, “Your honor, to save the court time and money, this is all evidence of Mister Cross’ infidelity. He was certainly not trying to hide his exploits. I would, therefore, like to move to the issue of his emotional abuse.” Judge Trayner agreed as he looked through all of the articles, “I agree. Go on.”

That night, I didn’t sleep much at all. When I would finally get to sleep, I would have horrible nightmares and Daniel’s hold on me would instinctively get tighter with each one. As much as I loved his firm grip on me, by two a.m. I couldn’t sleep anymore. The nightmares were nearly paralyzing for me. I kept dreaming of being beaten to the brink of death then being left for dead. Of course, Winifred was always the culprit.I was up and sitting at the bar, drinking coffee, when Daniel came downstairs at four a.m. Daniel asked, “Court is bringing up some trauma for you; isn’t it?” I nodded, “Yeah. The idea of having to relive everything with her sitting across the room from me is wreaking havoc in my brain. It won’t turn off until I actually get through this.”Daniel pulled me close, “I’m so sorry babe. I wish I had come home sooner. I could’ve stopped it sooner.” I sighed, “None of this is your fault. I could’ve refused to marry him. The fault lies with Victor and Winifred. I guess I ha
