Chapter 3

Author: Perfect Timing
"Ginny is saying, 'Why should I apologize to that disgusting fat pig? In her dreams! Who do they all think they are–the moral police? They're just spineless dimwits! As long as I don't admit to it, they can't do anything about it.'"

This infuriated the entire class.

"Ginny, how could you! We're just trying to stand up for Eva! Why did you insult all of us?"

Everyone glared at me.

"I didn't say any of that!" I tried to explain. "Snowie made it all up!"

No one bought what I said, so I turned to look at Mandy and said, "Mandy, don't you know what type of person I am? I really didn't say anything."

Mandy was just about to stand up for me when Snowie said, "Ginny just said, 'As long as that idiot Mandy believes me, no one else will suspect me.'"

Mandy's eyes reddened. "How could you say such horrible things? I know your family's situation isn't ideal. I always share my snacks and fruits with you. How could you think this of me?

"Consider me done with this friendship! Return all my snacks and fruits!"

I mumbled anxiously, "Mandy, please, you have to believe me."

Snowie said once more, "Now she's saying, 'Damn it! If Mandy doesn't believe me, where else am I going to find someone else to blame?'"

I boiled with rage, yelling, "Shut up! I've never thought that! You're just trying to stir stuff up!"

Snowie said with a sigh, "Since you don't believe me, let's do another experiment. I'll turn around. You can write whatever, and I'll know what you wrote."

I agreed, but also asked the entire class to turn their backs to me.

I wrote on a piece of paper and crumbled it in my fist. With her back still facing me, Snowie said, "You wrote, 'Man plans, and God Laughs.'"

I was secretly delighted by her mistake, but Snowie added, "But you deliberately wrote Nan instead of Man. If I hadn't heard your thoughts, I would've been duped."

I froze.

Snowie was right on point.

Eva walked over to me with reddened eyes and slapped my face. "Apologize to me at once!"

I bit my lip, saying nothing. Eva was about to hit me again when Snowie stopped her. "We're classmates. Let's just drop this. Now we know what kind of person she is, let's just stay away from her."

This firmly confirmed that I had insulted Eva.

Eva reluctantly lowered her hand and left. The others followed her, leaving me alone in the classroom.

I slumped to the floor, stumped and baffled. Why was Snowie doing this to me?

From that day onward, I was the most hated person in the entire class. Mandy had demanded that I return the things that she had given me. Then, she put in a request to move to a different dorm.

Soon, it was Ms. Honey's class. Halfway through, she brought up her husband and child.

Right at this moment, Snowie suddenly stood up. "Ginny, why did you say that Ms. Honey's class is pointless? You even called her husband and child a troll! Show some respect!"

Before I could say anything, the entire class told Ms. Honey how Snowie could hear my thoughts.

Ms. Honey's gaze darkened. "Ginny, how could you say that about me?"

I calmly said, "Ms. Honey, you're an educated person. Do you think there is such a thing as hearing someone else's thoughts?"

Ms. Honey said icily, "Why don't we do an experiment?" She flipped to a random page and got me to write down the first sentence.

[He who has a mind to beat his dog will easily find his stick.]

Hoping this time it might be different, I picked up my pen and wrote on a piece of paper.

Still, Snowie easily said what I wrote.

Ms. Honey slammed the table angrily. "I never pegged you to be this type of person, Ginny! I even nominated you as our star student!"

I froze. My face was as pale as a sheet. "I didn't do it, Ms. Honey."

Snowie interjected, "I can hear her thoughts again.

"Ginny said, 'If it weren't for that stupid scholarship, I can't be bothered with this old hag. Only she thinks her troll of a husband is handsome. How pathetic.'"

  • The Eye That Listened   Chapter 8

Five years ago, my father's company went bankrupt.Debt collectors threw me off the third floor to pressure my father into paying, but my eyes hit the stone below, and my right eyeball was forcibly removed. My father paid off the debt and used the last of our money to give me a prosthetic eye.I had never told anyone about this, so no one knew one of my eyes was fake.It was not until the day when I recalled how Snowie could hear my thoughts that I realized something was not right. She thought that I had deliberately written Man as Nan, yet she did not know that at that time, my right eye had been blocked by my hair. I miswrote. The paper still had traces of my correction.I suspected something was wrong with my right eye, so I secretly took it off, put it in my bag, and went to have it checked immediately after asking for leave from my teacher.Sure enough, upon opening it, I found a state-of-the-art surveillance device inside, placed there no more than two weeks ago.It even

Everyone instantly had a change of heart. Those who apologized to me immediately distanced themselves from me.Even Mandy took a few steps back, no longer daring to look at me.Snowie tried a few more times to prove that she could hear my thoughts. In a few short days, I was once more isolated. The crime of stealing the lab designs was once more on me. Due to the previous incident, everyone secretly suspected that I was the one who stole the designs.Just then, we received news that the designs were found. It turned out that a student in the lab had mistaken the designs for scrap paper and took them out of the lab.The police even came to the school just because of that. Once they made sure with the dean that the designs were not stolen, they closed the case. The temporary disappearance of the designs had thrown the entire university into chaos. With the items finally recovered, the college leadership issued an immediate notice. Except for the teachers and students involved in

The officer replied icily, pointing to everyone, "All of them saw for themselves; the notebook is new. I hadn't touched it before it was open. If you suspect me, you can file a complaint and get another officer here."The dean of the college immediately stood up and said, "Sir, we believe you. Snowie is only trying to help the school."Getting the dean's hint, Snowie instantly lowered her head and apologized, "Officer, I'm sorry. I was just too eager to prove myself."The police officer replied indifferently, "Since we've proven that your ability to hear thoughts is fake, then, as agreed, you need to apologize to Ginny Sanders."Snowie looked aggrieved. She reluctantly apologized to me, "Ginny, I'm sorry. It was a misunderstanding."I corrected her. "No. Not a misunderstanding. You wrongfully accused me."Snowie gritted her teeth and corrected herself, "I'm sorry that I wrongfully accused you."I looked up at Ms. Honey. "Ms. Honey, since I've proven Snowie had wrongfully accused

I asked, "So, Officer, may I ask how I could've escaped detention and returned to school just to steal a few documents?"The police officer was a little stumped seeing my notice of release from detention.Yes. How did I do it?Instantly, everyone turned to Snowie. She turned red. "Ginny is lying! She stole the designs! Her thoughts never lie!"This time, the police officer did not trust what she said and retorted, "How could you prove what you're saying is true?"Before she could reply, the entire class replied on her behalf, recounting all of the previous experiments that they had done.Ms. Honey also stood up for her. Casting me a resentful gaze, she said, "What Snowie said was true. Ginny is a liar. Her words can't be trusted."She added, "Who knows, perhaps the notice she handed to you was forged. You need to properly look into this, sir."Snowie flashed me a provoking smug smile when she saw everyone siding with her.The police officer nodded and immediately called the p

Through gritted teeth, Ms. Honey hissed, "Just you wait! As long as I'm alive, you'll never get your scholarship!"I groaned and tried to defend myself, but Snowie said once more, "Ginny said, 'It doesn't matter if I don't have the scholarship. Luckily, I was smart enough to pretend to be poor to apply for financial aid. Once I have the money, I'll go and get the newest phone.'"Snowie looked at me and said with surprise, "Ginny, the financial aid has a quota. How could you take away this aid from those who really need it, all just for a new phone?"Ms. Honey looked murderous. Not only did she write me up for disciplinary action, but she even revoked my financial aid.Without the financial aid, my life savings depleted quickly. I had no choice but to quit school and find a job.Just when I was packing up, I suddenly thought of the three experiments that Snowie did to prove that she could hear my thoughts.I thought about it over and over, finally realizing something was not right
