Chapter 22 - Resting

Emily sits on the edge of the hospital bed and smiles at me while she pats my arm. A mischievous glint in her eye shines as she teases, “So, did anything exciting happen to you while you were at Yellow Moon?”

I almost roll my eyes. Ever since she stopped fussing over my injuries and found out I licked a wolf, she has taken every opportunity to try and get some more information out of me about it. However, they already know everything I know. But her and Julie won’t let it rest.

I shake my head. “No. I worked.”

From the other side of the bed, Julie playfully adds, “But she found a very annoying and arrogant man there.”

The older women look at each other as their smiles grow wider.

I shake my head again. I don’t want to know what is going through their heads.

Hunter walks into the room with a bright smile and looks at the two older women. “Stop it. Leave my mate alone. Okay.”
