Shane’s POV
The days I spent with Erwan made me forget about the things that have been bothering me. Everything just magically happens when I am with him. As days go by, I just find myself falling harder to him. He has his own ways of making me feel safe.
“Shane!” I turned to see a woman waving at me while smiling from ear to ear.
“Olivia, you’re late.” I said, approaching her.
We agreed to meet here at the mall and she is 10 minutes late.
“Sorry about that, baby Shane. There’s too much traffic.” She kissed both of my cheeks and linked her arms to mine.
“Oh, by the way, where is Liz? She wants to talk about something important, right?” she asked.
“That’s what she said when she asked to meet up here.”
We walked to a milk tea shop inside the mall because she told me that she suddenly felt thirsty.
“She’s running
Erwan hissed in fury and tried to dial the number again, but to no avail, the receiver didn’t answer it.“He’s someone close, he’s watching you and everyone around you,” he said, standing up. He walks to and fro, his forehead creased while he snaps his fingers there and then. It doesn’t seem like he is talking to me, it is more like he is talking to himself. “I knew it, he has a plan. He is just waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike. I need to figure out what he’s planning,” he mumbled, still pacing in the living room.“Erwan,” I said, holding his arm but it doesn’t seem like he heard me because he is still mumbling to himself.“Erwan!” I yelled and gripped both of his arms.He stopped and turned to me. His eyes looks dazed as if he is trying to figure out who I am. He narrowed his eyes and shook his head. He inhaled a deep sigh and released it in a few seconds.
Third Person’s POV“We found him, sir.” A muscular man said as soon as Mr. Mavero Croven arrived on his office.“Where is he?” Mr. Mavero asked and removed his tie.“We brought him to the warehouse.”“Did he spit out anything?”“Our men are torturing him to make him speak up.”Mr. Mavero walked over the door, “I am going to make him tell me everything that he knows until he bleed to death.” He said flatly and the man followed him out.It took them almost an hour before reaching the warehouse and entered. It is hot inside and Mr. Mavero needed to remove his suit which leaves him his plain white shirt, he saw a man tied in a chair in the center of the warehouse. His body is full of bruise and his knees are covered with blood.“Gino Trevilla,” he started and walk over to the man.The guy doesn’t looks old, he actually seem
Shane’s POVErwan invited me over to their house to eat dinner with his family because his mom kept on insisting that she want to meet me personally. He picked me up at the mansion around 6 in the evening, but he’d been quiet the entire drive. Though he didn’t say anything, I knew that he is still worried about the danger of my life. My hands are shaky because of my nervousness about meeting his mom. His brother will also be joining us at dinner so that makes me anxious as well because our first encounter was not really great and I am not too comfortable with him. Erwan didn’t seem to notice my shaking hands because he was obviously lost in his thoughts while he drive.I tried to initiate a conversation and distract him with whatever’s his thinking, but he’s just nodding as a response. We pulled to the garage of their house and he shut off the engine, but before he can even unbuckle his seatbelt, I held his hands because I couldn&rsq
Thirty-three:Thirty-three:Erwan’s POVI can’t still believe what I discovered about Nathan this night. How can he do that? He is betraying me, he is betraying mom. I drove Shane to her house after dinner and stayed outside the mansion inside my car. The neighborhood is solemn. The television of some neighbors can be heard and the distant barking of dogs is clear to my ears. Someone is jogging around, wearing his sweatpants and a hoodie. Seriously, jogging late at night? Weird.I glanced around and tried to see if there is some suspicious stranger lurking around. The man who is jogging turns toward an alley and disappeared out of sight. The houses around Croven’s residence are all huge like theirs. This is obviously a prestigious subdivision. It’s hard to imagine her growing up here. There is nothing boring but to live in a neighborhood with rich residences and spoiled people. I wonder how her childhood had been like on liv
Shane’s POV I tried to open my eyes but I couldn’t see anything, everything is so dark but I know that I am not the only person in the room. I kept on hearing voices, but I can’t decipher what they are talking about. I tried to stretch my hands but fear ate my system when I realized that both of my hands are tied in a chair. Where am I? I attempted to scream to ask for help but I can’t open my mouth. I calmed myself and tried to remember what had happened and what I am doing here. Then everything played into my mind like a series of photographs, the dinner with Erwan’s family, the night I went home, the guy on the veranda. I am doomed. Did I just got kidnapped? With all of my strength, I tried to untie the rope in my hands. I don’t know how long I’d been locked up here but I am certain that I am in danger and I should do what I can to escape. After what seems like an eternity, I heard footsteps and the sl
Third Person's POVThe night had been a rough one for Mavero Croven. He can no longer sleep in peace because of the frustration and desperation of wanting to find the actual suspect who is doing these things to his daughter. It may not seem obvious but he treasures Shane more than his life and he is willing to give up everything for her. It was midnight and he is still on the 22nd floor of his company, thinking deeply and browsing the files his men had sent to him. Files that contain the background of Jerome Fuenter, the father of Erwan and Nathan Fuenter.Months ago, before all the unfortunate things on Shane Croven happened, Mavero received a call from an unknown number telling him to prepare because his end is coming. He did not recognize the caller at first but he soon realized that it is Jerome Fuenter.Jerome Fuenter was his ally, they were business partners and they ventured into the business world together. Jerome’s wife, Julie was good friends wit
Erwan’s POVThe whole day of class was dull and boring, I don’t know if this is because Shane wasn’t around or the lessons didn’t really interest me much. I have been glancing at the door of the classroom from time to time, waiting for Shane to barge in and apologize to the professor for being late but it did not happen. The class ended but she didn't come.I tried to call her after class but her phone is out of reach. Is she still sleeping? I went to the cafeteria, expecting to see her eating and laughing with her friends but she’s not there. I waved to Jase and Olivia when I spotted them and hurried over to their table to ask if they saw Shane. They looked at me in confusion.“We thought she was with you,” Jase said.“I’ve been calling her but she’s out of reach.”“Maybe she’s ill,” Olivia suggested but shook her head after realizing what she said
Third Person’s POV:It’s late at night and Erwan headed home after talking to Mavero, they don’t have a single clue about Shane’s whereabouts. Mavero told him everything in the past and why Jerome Fuenter is mad at him.Erwan's rage grew for his father as he realized that a worthless parent like him could blame someone for his failure when he was the one who had lost all of his money and properties due to his gambling addiction. He even had the audacity to involve the help of his elder brother in his so-called vengeance. Pathetic, he thought.Erwan furiously opened the door of their house and slammed it soundly upon seeing his brother inside. When he saw Nathan, he attempted to contain the wrath pouring inside him, but he couldn't stop the burning fire in his chest. He couldn’t believe that Nathan is still there in the living room, typing something away on his laptop abo
