The Fake Engagement

I grew up to be afraid of my father. Once, when I was little, he told me not to go near his office or even dare to enter it. But being the naïve and young child that I was, I did not pay attention to his orders and did not listen to him. I neglected him and went to his office to play.I thought he will not be mad if he caught me going there because I am his little princess and he loves me too much to scold me.. but I was wrong. That day, he caught me playing in his office and I chuckled and was about to hug him but my feet didn’t dare to move an inch when I heard him screamed at me.“You worthless child, I told you not to go here!” he threw the briefcase he was holding on the corner of a room and unbuckled his belt, he walked over my direction and slammed me. There was nothing that can be heard but my sobs and loud cry after that.That’s how I learned that he is not the same dad I used to know.

The nearest mall is just a ten minute drive from our home so I took my time and relaxed my back on the seat while humming happily.
