9. Official revelation

EMILY POV

My lips quivered and I struggled to keep myself in check. Mr. Brook was one of my father's creditors. I'd checked the creditors' list over and over again but I managed to skip his name while paying them off.

"Oh shit!" I mumbled.

"Would you care to clarify this accusation, Mrs Emily," he said with an air of satisfaction. I figured he had a thing against Leo as they almost murdered each other with their unwavering stares.

"I doubt that you're a credible reporter as you claim to be. Everyone in this city knows that I'm a billionaire and I just got married to my woman so it's well expected that people would attack her. I beseech you all to dismiss accusations such as this," Leo said and at that moment, I felt a great admiration for his poise.

He stepped down from the podium, pulled my hand and led me out of the conference as other reporters began to exchange words.
