I am Alpha!

Amelia’s eyes opened as soon as he said it. Was he kidding? The room at the far end of the hall is as good as a storage room; there is only one window for ventilation, one can't even see the sky from there, and, most importantly, no one ever goes there because it's so far away. It's closer to incarceration, but at least she'd have company in prison.

Shirley could tell the situation wasn't going to be pleasant the moment she looked at Amelia and saw her expression. She tried to smile but only got a frown.

A tear spilled from Shirley’s eyes, and before she could brush it away, it continued to fall like raindrops, causing her to cry uncontrollably.

"What did I do to earn this?" Why should I have to go through this when I swear I've been truthful and honest?" Shirley didn't specifically ask anyone. She was sobbing as she thought of the difficulties that were ahead of her. Her buddy appears to loathe her by instinct.

Amelia remained helpless, knowing she couldn't do or say anything to make Shirley feel better. Trying to console her will just exacerbate her suffering. Amelia has been trying to figure out what went wrong that caused her brother to be so heartless, but she hasn't been successful. Zane appeared to get more cruel by the day, and she had no idea how he came up with fresh ways to punish someone.

“This was not the brother I grew up with; I knew he was a little messed up because of our parents, but I had no idea it had gotten this bad; he used to listen whenever we talked to him, but now he doesn't. What exactly went wrong?” Amelia thought to herself.

Amelia swore to try to convince him that giving her the room at the end of the corridor was too severe for someone who hadn't done anything wrong.

Shirley desired to talk with Zane after sobbing uncontrollably. She asked Amelia for directions to his office, and she received them.

As she knocked lightly and entered the room, Zane didn't look up from whatever he was reading; his eyes were fixed on a diary, but he didn't appear to be concentrating.

Zane, she shouted out softly, and he swiftly looked up.

"You have no right to refer to me by my given name. I am Alpha to you! Do you understand?" His fury was visible in his eyes.

"I have something to tell you, Alpha-sir," she murmured.

"Now that you're here, there's no need for me to summon you again to explain the rules to you:" Zane grinned.

First and foremost, YOU ARE NOT TO SPEAK TO ME IF I DO NOT ASK YOU ANY QUESTIONS.

Second, DO NOT LEAVE YOUR ROOM; YOU WILL HAVE EVERYTHING YOU NEED IN THERE; IF YOU NEED ANYTHING ELSE, ASK YOUR MAID AND SHE WILL GET IT FOR YOU.

Third, LIVE AS QUIETLY AS POSSIBLE; AS LONG AS YOU DO NOT MAKE YOUR PRESENCE KNOWN, WE WILL NOT HAVE A PROBLEM.

Finally, you are not permitted to see anyone, and no one is permitted to visit you. I hope I am clear?”

Shirley was still out of it, unaware of Zane's presence due to her confusion with regulations.

"Have I made myself clear?" he yelled. "Yes, Alpha-sir," she replied.

Now leave my office and do not return unless I personally summon you.

As Shirley was leaving, she bumped into Amelia at the door; she was probably waiting for her to finish, but Shirley didn't get a chance to say anything, and it only made matters worse. Amelia walked into the office just as Zane was about to leave, shoving him in and closing the door behind him so he didn't leave in the middle of their conversation.

Amelia didn't know where to start, so she just stared at him, and everything she had planned to say to him faded away.

"Spill it and don't waste my time!" he replied without looking at her, but she could tell he was paying attention.

"You don't have to treat her this way; she hasn't yet done anything to you. If you don't want her, Zane, you must let her go." She pleaded.

He started to walk in, but she grabbed his arm and stopped him.

"She isn't her Zane; don't let her suffer for something that happened to someone else and about which she knows nothing!" Amelia tried to persuade him of her point of view, but he snatched his hand away.

“They have always been and will always be manipulative b!tches!" Alpha Zane yelled!

“Are you also referring to me as a manipulative b*tch, Zane? Wow!” Amelia responded feeling a bit disappointed, and she continued "You know you're just like them; don't you see yourself in the mirror as a carbon copy of your father, no matter how much you try to reject it? Dad screams whenever you open your mouth to speak or do anything. To make yourself feel better, you're convincing yourself that you can't be like them. However, you must accept it because it is your choice.” she yelled at him.

"Don't push it, Amelia," Zane adviced.

"It's been eleven f*cking years, Zane!" I thought you'd finished with them? I thought you'd grown into a strong man, but I guess I was wrong; you're becoming worse and more irredeemable by the day!" She was quite upset with him. "You've gotten worse than he was," she exclaimed, her eyes gleaming with anger.

She didn't back down when he stormed at her. She was about to defend herself when the door flung open and Robert stormed in.

"Where is he?" he pondered, looking around. "Could you please tell me where that motherfucker is?" Robert yelled loudly.

As soon as his gaze focused on Zane, he was right in front of them with a quickness Amelia hadn't realized he possessed.

"You!" he exclaimed, hitting him in the stomach before she could intervene.

"How could you order your mate to stay in that suffocating environment? And what are these absurd regulations I've been hearing about?" He yelled.

"Fredrick!" Zane picked up the phone, unconcerned by the punchline.

"You dubbed me Alpha," Fred responded.

"Make sure she doesn't get dinner or breakfast tonight and immediately plug the window in her room with planks because I don't want her to get any light. Do this right now, and place someone in front of her room to ensure that no one else enters to save her. If anyone enters or exits that chamber, you will not enjoy what I shall do. I hope I made myself clear?" Alpha Zane commanded.

“Yes, Alpha,” Fred said solemnly.

"Please, punish me, beat me, do anything you want, but don't block the only source of sunlight that can enter my chamber," Shirley pleaded to the guard who was blocking the window with a thick piece of wood, but he didn't even glance at her or say anything to her. As soon as he finished barricading the window, he left and shut the door.

After the guard had left, Shirley tried to open the door, but it was locked. She pushed herself into the middle of the room's bed, knowing that pleading for help would be pointless, so she did the only thing she could think of: She burst out crying. After hours of crying and wondering why she had been so unlucky, she gradually drifted off to sleep.

When she woke from her slumber, the first thing that came to her mind was, "This is something I'm capable of... I can deal with it as long as he doesn't order them to beat me up; all I have to do now is find something to do with my time because I won't be going out for who knows how long.”

She silently begged the moon goddess not to make her suffer any longer than this, as she wasn't sure she could handle it. When her tummy grumbled, she realized she was so hungry that she could eat a whole count of potato. She remembered not having breakfast because she was so consumed with preparing for the evening's event; little did she know that her life would be flipped upside down; if she had known, she would have eaten well at the very least.

In terms of special events, she was confident that Luciano's inferno would be roaring right now, and that some might not even notice her absence. She felt awful, but she promised herself that she would not cry again about problems for which she had no solution to. She chose to go in search of food first because she need it to survive in this prison.

Shirley looked around the room and found nothing appealing, so she tried banging on the door, hoping to discover something on the other side. After more than five minutes of knocking, she heard a loud voice ask her what she needed.

"Could you please go get something to eat for me? I'm starving."

She had to calmly wait for whoever was there to bring her dinner after he stated he'd be back in a gruff voice. After what seemed like an hour and a half of waiting, she had to knock on the door again because the food still hadn't arrived. She didn't give up because the gentleman standing outside was taking his time to react, so she knocked again and again until he did.

"WHAT?" he yelled angrily.

"You didn't bring me the lunch I asked for," Shirley grumbled and the line that followed astounded her.

"Alpha says you won't be fed dinner tonight nor breakfast tomorrow morning," She was told, and that was the only information she received. She had nothing to do other than accept her fate.

“The moon's delectability was on a mission to destroy me. This was most likely my punishment for dating someone else's mate and failing to inform my family and friends about what transpired on my birthday night.” Shirley thought to herself… “Oh, how I wish I wasn't in that kitchen, how I wish I hadn't been married to a beast, how I wish I could turn back time, but it's too late; I can't escape; this is my punishment, my fate, and I can't escape it.” She was filled with so much regrets.

She attempted to sleep on an empty stomach, but it was tough because her stomach refused to comply. She had never gone this long without eating before, and if she keeps up this pace, she'll starve to death.

***

She was lying flat on her stomach, trying to conceal the growls emerging from her stomach, when she felt a scorching aching in her hair. When she eventually opened her eyes, someone was yanking on her hair.

*Wake up!' exclaimed the person as he kicked her in the ribs.

Shirley was so fatigued and weak that she couldn't even yell, so all she could do was whimper in misery. She knew that if she screamed or sobbed out loud, she'd be in serious trouble, so she bit her bottom lip to keep her from sobbing.

When another punch fell on her rib, she was sent toppling down; she could hear her bones crushing and knew it would take weeks, if not months, to heal.

When she heard a whip crack, she had no idea what to expect; she hadn't broken any laws thus far; all she'd done was cry and sleep, so she was surprised when the whip fell on her back. Shirley rubbed her tongue against the roof of her mouth, anticipating the next hit and the dozens that would follow.

As the second strike smacked into her back, she bit her tongue to keep the screams at bay, and this continued until he decided enough was enough.

She was about to crawl to a corner of her room because she thought he was done with her, but before she realized what was happening, he forced her to sniff something in a small container, and she gradually lost consciousness. She later learned that the substance he made her sniff was wolfsbane. Then he asked her to switch positions.

"No!" Shirley screamed because she was afraid.

In this situation, she couldn't shift because her wolf would die; she was too weak from absorbing all the pains to keep going. Trying to relocate would be the last straw.

"And then he yelled!" He had become furious to the point of rage. She flatly refused, knowing that if she didn't do what he asked right immediately, he'd kill her faster than if she switched.

"Please..."  made a whispered remark.

"Move right now!"

Shirley tried to move since his fury was visible in his eyes.

She focused on her wolf form and tried to picture herself in that state, but it didn't work.

"I can't shift," Shirley said, tears welling up in her eyes.

He put the wolfbane on her body again, then grabbed her hair and threw her to the ground again, this time with more bone-shattering audible.

She was swiftly burning up as a result of the wolfbane's impact, her flesh progressively peeling away and revealing my bones.

"Help!" As the wolfbane ate away at her flesh and drew closer to her bones, she yelled in anguish. she stood helpless, seeing her flesh burn in front of her eyes.

"Please help me," Shirley  whispered since she couldn't find her voice any longer.

"I'm on fire," she wailed, "someone save me!"

***

When the frequent taps on the door jarred her awake, Shirley realized she had been dreaming the whole time and was still in the room where Zane had held her without food.

She looked around, but there was no light, so she couldn't determine what time it was.

"Are you okay?" Amelia enquired.

When Shirley questioned her about how she got inside the room, she hugged her strongly and mumbled calming words to her. She promised me that things would get better with time and that she would take care of everything.
