True to her word Brandy doesn't ask me out again until Halloween. When I reminded her of our deal she argued that it doesn't really count as going out since it's a dorm party.

So against my better judgement, come Halloween I'm in the common area dressed as, I'm actually not sure what. Something with ears on a headband and a tiny leotard that fit like a second skin. Brandy was in a matching one across the room, a boy on either side of her.

About an hour into the party I'm ready to go back to the room, but as I start to leave, strong arms wrap around my waist and a voice in my ear growls, "miss me princess?"

I'm so startled that all I can do is ask, "James?"

He chuckles in my ear, "expecting someone else?"

I relax into his chest, letting his smell envelope me, "I wasn't even expecting you, but I'm glad you're here." I pause a second before asking, "wait, how are you here?"
