Chapter 9

SALLY'S POV

'What were they doing here?' I thought as I stared at them completely shocked.

"Have you seen the nuisance they are constituting?" Alpha Derek asked and I nodded sadly.

I and Alpha Derek stood and watched the drama from afar, one would think we were friends or even couples.

Before I knew what was happening one of the members of the dark pack slapped my pack member and the whole place became soar. Slaps were heard from different angles and screams were also heard.

Alpha Derek and I stood and watched in amazement until the fight became intense, they were now fighting with their claws and tearing each other's body parts mercilessly. I tried to step into the fight and separate them but Alpha Derek held my arm and I immediately came to a halt.

I turned around to look at the spot Alpha Derek held, then I looked at Alpha Derek's face. He sensed that I didn't like the way he held me and took his hands away immediately.

I didn't struggle to get to the fighting floor anymore, I just stood back and watched, even though it hurt so much watching my pack members getting injured by the members of the dark pack. They didn't stand a chance and members of the dark pack were dealing mercilessly with them.

I was watching blows land in different directions and they tore each other's faces mercilessly until all the members of the moonlight pack were lying on the bare floor injured in different parts and their blood poured freely staining the floor of the dark pack compound.

I recognized one of the pack members, he was my brother Sam's friend. I quickly rushed to him and knelt beside him, I lifted his head and placed it on my lap. Most of the members were gasping for breath and struggling to live. Sam's friend also was struggling with his life.

I watched Alpha Derek walking towards them and my heart began to pound, I wanted to talk to Sam's friend quickly before Alpha Derek got there and distracted us.

"What happened? Why did you come?" I asked almost moved to tears.

"Alpha Lucas had sent us", he replied and my tears fell and landed on his face.

"He knows the consequences right? How could he send you all?" I asked and wiped my tears with the back of my palm.

"He had asked us to come to plead with alpha Derek to release you, we asked that we be let in so we could talk to alpha Derek. We wanted to see if he would have mercy on us and give you back to us, we had come in peace", he replied and I couldn't help but sob even more.

"Lock them all up", I heard alpha Derek's thunder voice and turned around to see him standing behind me.

He made a signal with his fingers and two of his guards walked to me, they raised me forcefully and started dragging me away. I cried and struggled for help but none came, there was not even the slightest help from anywhere.

I continued struggling with them, but they didn't stop, they ignored me completely, pushed me forcefully into my room, and locked the door.

My pack members were also dragged and locked up in prison.

After that day alpha Derek stopped coming to visit me, he also stopped looking in my direction, I rarely saw him around. Every evening, the guards would bring me outside and guide me to the garden to receive fresh air and return with me safely to the room.

I decided to get friendly with the pretty maid who brought me food daily. In no time the both of us became very close, she'd sit with me after serving me and we'd talk about a whole lot of things.

One evening after serving me she decided to spend quality time with me. She had purposely delayed my dinner and had made sure she had finished every other chore she had to do after serving me before coming to my room.

"Where is your alpha? Derek?" I asked immediately after I finished eating dinner, she had sat there watching me the whole time while I ate, and it reminded me so much of Hayden, tears dropped down my cheeks as Hayden's face appeared on my face, I quickly wiped my face so she wouldn't see my tears.

"Derek is very busy, he is preparing to go for a war in the neighboring pack. He usually took his time to prepare for any war, he wouldn't mess things up you know", she said.

"So alpha Derek gets nervous before goi to a war? I thought he was perfect?" I found myself asking.

"Alpha Derek is never nervous. He just has to keep a reputation that's all, or do you think every success is magic? Of course, every successful man has a secret that made him successful alpha Derek also has a legacy he had inherited and he must keep to it, if he must succeed like his forefathers he needs to do exactly what he is doing. Also to remain in power as the alpha of the dark pack", she replied and I nodded in agreement.

"You are right you know, you are very very right, you are intelligent and I like it. You also remind me so much of my best friend Hayden", I said and she smiled beautifully.

"I heard about what happened, alpha Lucas loves you", she said and I nodded sadly. It's been two weeks already yet I am not able to get over the loneliness and move on from alpha Lucas.

"I love him just as much, it just hurt so much that things got to turn out this way,  I am not able to get over him still", I said.

"He hasn't gotten over you either", she said and I smiled.

"You think so too right?" I asked.

"I know so. Only a man who loves you for real will visit the way he does", she said and I became confused.

"Visit the way he does?" I asked trying to get clarified.

"You didn't know? Alpha Lucas visits the pack every other day to plead with Alpha Derek to let you go, and release his pack members. After being walked out of the building by Alpha Derek, even thrown out some other times he still returns the next day. It's been good two weeks yet nothing has happened", she said and I couldn't help but shed tears.

I thought about how hard it would be for alpha Lucas and tears kept flowing down freely from my cheek.

"Did I say something?" Jennifer asked. I haven't mentioned to you all that my new friend's name is Jennifer.

"No not really, you haven't said anything wrong", I replied and she held my right hand. I took her hand away from mine coldly and stood up to my feet.

"Where is alpha, Derek?" I asked staring down at her.

"It's late, he just finished having dinner, so obviously he would be in his room", she replied.

"I am going to confront alpha Derek", I said boldly and Jennifer stared at me unbelievably.
