Diana

Without a word, Dom reaches behind, wraps his arms around my waist and pulls me into his lap.

I squeak in surprise before melting against him, curling into his arms like second nature. He holds me close, burying his face into the crook of my neck. I feel him breathe in—deep and deliberate, as if he’s using the scent of me to find his center again.

He says nothing for a while. Just breathes. Just holds.

Then, quietly, his voice rumbles against my skin.

“Well,” he murmurs, “that’s one thing partly settled at least.”

He doesn’t need to say what. We both know he means the rogues.

His grip tightens slightly. “The plans are going to have to change.”

I pull back a little, and stare into his eyes, I watch the flicker of calculation in them.

“That plan we had,” he continues, “of keeping the other packs behind the lines—safe, locked down in their territories…” he shakes his head, “the witches won’t allow that.”

He pauses, “The game has changed, it seems we’ve forced them to reac

DianaThe next morning, the Council ceremony is held just after dawn. It’s a quiet affair—no pomp, no fanfare.Elder Rothgar, as the last standing Elder, officiates. A circle of Alphas stand before him, nine in total, each swearing their oath beneath an old stone archway. I watch the ceremony from our home, livestreamed on the official Council channels. After the ceremony, I check the names of the new scorn in Elders, wondering if I will recognise any of them.I blink in surprise as I see the names. This set of Elders, out of nine, five are actually from smaller packs. Only four are from the major packs. It’s the first time the Elders aren’t all from the ten major packs… I can’t help but think that’s a good thing.Maybe these wolves will have more empathy. Seeing as how they themselves come from packs that don’t have much strength or power. They might sympathise more with the common wolf. It’s no wonder Dom charged Elder Rothgar with choosing the new Elders.Nine Elders were swor

DianaNext, Dom calls Brodik. The line connects in a single ring.“Alpha,” Brodik answers promptly. He doesn’t waste time. “You’re going to draft a directive. Effective immediately.”“Yes, Alpha.”“I want a complete trace of every rogue created by the packs in the last century,” he orders, his voice low and cold. “Every single one. I don’t care the reason—justified, malicious, or out of neglect. I want it documented.”He begins pacing, his tone sharp enough to flay. “Each Alpha is to submit a detailed list: who was banished, why, when, and under whose authority. I want that data on my desk in exactly forty-eight hours.”He pauses by the window, jaw locked. “Tell them I’m not asking. I’m telling them. No lies, no omissions, no fudged numbers. The data had better be accurate. Down to the last wolf.”Dom’s voice drops to a growl. “Gods help them if they try to hide anything.”Brodik doesn’t hesitate. “It will be done, Alpha.”The line disconnects.Dom turns back to me and Eleanor, eyes d

DianaThomas begins to shake, crawling further against the wall, but then he finds himself against the corner and can’t go anywhere.I step closer, my voice steady, resonant, divine.“Your soul will never meet the Moon Goddess.”Each word lands like a bell toll.“You will never find your mate. You will not be allowed to reincarnate. You will not know light, or peace, or rest.”His eyes widen—first in disbelief, then in dawning horror—as he looks at me.The glow of my power intensifies, weaving around me like liquid fire. My hair lifts in strands of red light, suspended in an invisible wind, and my eyes burn with a holy glow that sears into his soul.“You might escape the pain of this earthly plane,” I continue, softly now, like a lullaby laced with venom, “but where you are going… the torment is eternal.”Terror floods his face. And in that instant, he finally understands.I may not be as physically strong as Dominicus. But I am no less powerful. And perhaps… for him… far more terrify

Diana He swallows. “They believe it.” I feel faint. “And they never let them stay together for long. Just enough to seed the obsession. To convince them it’s real.” My stomach heaves. “They faked the mating bond?” My voice is barely above a whisper. Thomas nods quickly. …I can’t breathe. I can’t think. They took something sacred and used it like a leash. And suddenly, I want to burn the entire world down. “That bond is sacred,” I hiss. “It’s divine. It’s not some trick to be forged and broken for convenience. How dare they?” The room is heavy with silence. Dom’s gaze flicks toward me. He says nothing—but I feel it. The echo of my rage burns through our bond like wildfire. Eleanor exhales softly from behind us. “Dark witches have always corrupted what they can’t create,” she murmurs. “This isn’t new. I just never imagined they would do something like this.” But I’m still shaking. Twelve hundred wolves—enslaved. Controlled. Lied to. Twelve hundred more—im

Diana “Ohhh,” Dom draws it out theatrically, his voice dipped in mocking surprise. “That’s what you meant…” His head tilts. “You want me to kill you?” Thomas nods once, hard. “Please.” Dom glances back at me and raises a brow. I stare into the dark cell, at the shriveled, pathetic man crouched inside. Dom steps aside slightly, making space for me to enter. I walk in silently. Eleanor remains by the bars, her expression unreadable. I pause. Should we really just kill him? Just like that? Has he truly suffered enough for all the pain he’s caused? For everything he did—the blood, the betrayal? No. But it will have to do. We don’t have time to waste. I glance at Dom and give a small, reluctant nod. He turns back to Thomas and shrugs casually. “Okay.” The relief that floods the bastard is instant. His whole body slumps like he’s just been handed salvation. I fold my arms. “Tell us about the rogues.” His eyes go wide, a flicker of recognition passing through them. They dart a
