Inter- varsity tournaments
During the weekend Thandi and Mandy went to visit uncle Zake who had invited them. They were received with warm hands by Zake and his wife. Zake apologised to Thandi for insinuating that she was after S’bu’s money and for the aphrodisiac. Thandi realised that Zake was a smooth talker like S’bu and Menzi. By the time the weekend was over, they were all getting along very well.
Back in the university, the sports teams were preparing for inter-varsity tournaments. Universities around the country would be meeting in Johannesburg to compete against each other in all sports fields. Thandi was in her university netball team squad and very excited to be part of the team. She thought she could spend the rest of the weekend with S’bu since the tournament was on Friday but S’bu was visiting Menzi in Durban that weekend. The Jobe household was buzzing with excitement. S’bu had completed his bachelor of commerce degree and graduated. He had the biggest graduation party to celebrate his achievement. Thandi saw S’bu coming towards her and could tell that he was not pleased with her. His eyes were so cold that she started shivering.You flirting with another man right in front of my gate? In the emergency room, Thandi was filling in S’bu’s details on the forms when Menzi and his other cousins arrived to make sure that S’bu was fine. S’bu hardly slept and was the first one at the office. Charlie still could not believe that S’bu would have so much confidence in him that he would make him one of SJC managers. Unsure that he was up to the job and fearing disappointing his boss, he tried to convince him to reconsider and give someone with experience the job but S’bu told him to do his best and ask for help when he needs it.
