Aspen Snow was momentarily stunned before she smirked.

“Conrad, I was wrong to not have discussed this with you earlier.

“But if I told you about this, you’d definitely never agree to it.

“You’re my fiance, so what if you have to sacrifice yourself a little? Besides, nothing happened to you anyway.”

“Nothing happened?”

I raised my blood-soaked arm as my fingers trembled.

“To keep myself awake, I cut my arm open and submerged myself in cold water for six hours.

“Aspen, I’m your fiance. I’m not a tool that you can use to test another person’s loyalty!”

At the same time, the bride who was asleep through our conversation, Sadie Long, woke up.

Sadie overheard our conversation, and her sleepy eyes slowly widened in shock.

“You… you planned this?

“Brandon, why are you treating our marriage like this?”

She immediately looked at Brandon Reid in disgust.

Brandon frowned, but he still sounded confident.

“Sadie, I love you too much. Besides, it was just a tiny test…”

Sadie sneered. “I’m nauseated by your love. I’m not going to marry you anymore.”

Then, she left without looking back.

Brandon froze. A few seconds later, he immediately turned around to look at me.

“Conrad, did something really happen between the two of you? If not, why would she call off the wedding when she woke up?”

Upon hearing that, Aspen immediately started tearing up.

“Conrad, did anything happen between the two of you?”

I frowned. I found the whole thing ridiculous.

“Aspen, I was submerged in cold water for the whole night. Do you think anything could have happened?”

Brandon added fuel to the fire.

“Aspen, it may be for the better… After all, the Long family isn’t rich, but Sadie couldn’t even accept a simple test like this.

“But it’s not completely useless. At least, we managed to test Conrad’s loyalty toward you.

“Even if it might be just an act, he did cut himself open with a shard of glass.”

Aspen’s eyes dimmed. She flung my hand away as though she was touching something dirty.

“You should reflect on your own actions.”

After she said that, she left with Brandon.

I froze and felt extremely helpless.

I did nothing, yet I was treated so poorly and coldly!

After they left, I climbed out of the bathtub. I left a bloody trail behind me with every step I took.

I had to quickly go to the hospital…

The wedding venue was opposite the bedroom that I was in.

All the guests were waiting anxiously, but Sadie did not show up.

I leaned against the wall and stumbled into the hall.

I wanted to ask for an ambulance, but my voice was extremely weak.

“Help me…”

Brandon stood in the middle of the stage, facing the guests and Sadie’s parents, Howard Long and Jessica Long.

When he saw me appearing, a hint of malice flashed in his eyes.

“Howard, Jessica, you have to support me!”

He suddenly pointed at me as he immediately accused me with a loud voice.

“I was excited to get married today, but Sadie disappeared for an entire night.

“This morning, I found her in the same room as Conrad.

“After I discovered what happened, Sadie was furious, so she wanted to call off the wedding. Then, she left!”

“It’s all your fault… It’s because of you! You’re so wicked!”Aspen’s eyes were filled with rage. She ignored the crowd’s gaze and charged toward Brandon. “I’m going to kill you! It’s all because of you!” It became chaotic, and everyone started screaming. At the very critical moment, the police officers who received a report immediately rushed into the hall. They forcefully separated Aspen from Brandon and subdued both of them. In the end, Brandon was jailed because of his crime in drugging and harming me. As for Aspen, she was also detained as an accomplice and accessory. A few months later, at the prison’s visitation room, Aspen was wearing a prison outfit, and her eyes were empty and numb. Sadie was seated on the opposite side of the glass. “Where’s Conrad? Why isn’t he here?”Aspen’s voice was hoarse yet hopeful. “Is he still blaming me?”Sadie looked at her mockingly. “Aspen, Conrad has already lost his memory. He doesn’t remember you at all. How would he co

Aspen was stunned for a long while before she realized something. I seemed to be very close to Sadie. She did not care how wealthy Sadie was, she just felt that I had been coveted by Sadie. She pointed at Sadie and questioned, “Sadie, don’t think just because you have a new identity, you can hide the truth about being a homewrecker!“Did you steal Conrad from me since he has lost his memory and we’re in an argument?!” Sadie could not help but chuckle. “Ms. Snow, you’re thinking too much.”Sadie looked at Aspen and sounded calm and certain. “My relationship with Mr. Smith isn’t what you think. “That day, I was just helping him at the hospital entrance.”When she said that, she glanced meaningfully at Brandon. Brandon felt a shiver down his spine. He realized Sadie must have known something about what happened at the hospital the other day. “Aspen, let’s go… This dinner is boring anyway. Let’s go home…”Brandon wanted to grab Aspen’s hand, but Aspen flung his hand

Aspen froze as her breathing became heavier. Brandon took a step forward as he wanted to hold Aspen’s hand. Instead, Aspen pushed him away. His expression froze and immediately changed into a pitiful one. “Conrad, do you really not remember?“Even though you’ve done something bad, Aspen kept wanting to give you a chance to start afresh.“No matter how much you hate us, you can’t pretend to not know us.“Are you afraid that everyone will remember that you seduced my wife on my wedding day?“You even drugged yourself and hurt yourself to threaten her to stay in the room.” After he said that, the surrounding guests looked at me in disgust. Aspen felt a twisted sense of joy. She thought that if my reputation was ruined and I was despised by the whole world, I would have no choice but to go back to her. However, when she looked at me, she realized my expression was scarily calm. “Brandon, shut up!” Aspen suddenly roared as she felt annoyed. Brandon pretended to be he

Aspen was quiet for a really long time. She knew the importance of her collaboration with Long Corporation, so she suppressed her irritation and nodded hesitantly. Brandon lowered his head and let out a smug smirk. On the day of the dinner, Aspen arrived with a heavy heart. Brandon was holding her arm and wearing the suit that was initially meant for me. Even though it did not fit him perfectly, he enjoyed the envious gazes of the people around him. Aspen held a wine glass and socialized absentmindedly. She was extremely tired by the noisy surroundings. Just when she was bored out of her mind and wanted to find a reason to take a breather, her gaze swept past the spiral staircase on the side of the hall. All of a sudden, her wine glass fell onto the floor. The red wine spilled on her high heels. She saw an extremely familiar figure. The figure chuckled softly and was dressed in a black bespoke suit, looking tall and handsome.“Conrad…”Aspen’s trembling voice was

The nurse saw how pathetic she looked, and she looked a little torn. “He’s already dead from the horrible incident. Where do you think he could be?”Aspen felt as though her world had crumbled. “No, you’re lying to me!” Tears streamed down her cheeks as she rushed toward the morgue. “I want to see him! I want to see his dead body! It’s impossible that he’s dead!” A few security guards rushed over and subdued her. Brandon rushed to the hospital after receiving the news. “Aspen, calm down!” Aspen saw Brandon and immediately freed herself from the security guards. She grabbed his collar. “You’re the one who prepared the medicine! What did you feed him? Did you want him dead?”Brandon’s face turned pale. He immediately looked like he was wronged. “Aspen, I really didn’t know anything!“I bought it from a pharmacy. I bet I was scammed. “I just wanted to help you test his loyalty too. I didn’t know something would actually happen to him. I didn’t mean to…”When Bran

An hour later, Aspen was pacing back and forth in the corridor irritatedly. “Why isn’t he out yet?”Brandon’s eyes glinted. “Maybe the examination is very thorough. Let’s head home instead.” Aspen nodded. The next morning, a breaking news shocked the entire city. [Breaking news! An unknown male corpse was discovered at a private hospital’s entrance. It seems like the deceased was tortured before his death.]Aspen was sitting in her office when she accidentally saw the hospital name. It was the hospital that she had sent me to the day before. When she recalled the long examination yesterday and the fact that I had not contacted her at all, her breathing immediately hitched. The coffee mug slipped from her hand and smashed into pieces. She felt as though a part of her heart had gone missing, and it was hard for her to breathe. “Conrad?”Immediately, Aspen felt her blood run cold. She kept glancing at the dustproof bag at the corner of her office. It contained the
