Chapter 41: Evelyn

I had just gotten back from the shop with Griff who instantly retreated to the basement, grumbling. He didn’t seem to like me very much, he was still kind though. I was about to head upstairs when I heard the front door open, I turned to see Felix come in, but he stopped short. His eyes traveling my body. I felt a blush creep up. Then he was striding towards me, a predatory look in his eyes. It sent a shiver of anticipation down my spine, especially from the tension last night. I considered meeting up with him when the front door opened once more.

A man walked in as Felix growled turning around. I felt anxious all of a sudden, as I looked at the man that had entered. He looked to Felix, “Excuse me…” He paused as his gaze landed on me, his eyes also traveling my body, but the way he looked at me, made my skin crawl. “Why is she out?”

Did he know me? I started walking forward, Felix glanced over at me, “Evelyn, why don’t you head upstairs.”

“She’s the one I need to see,” replied the man
