Anna

I woke up to the sound of my alarm with a smile on my face. The morning sun washed into my room, bathing everything in sight with its golden light. Today was going to be a good day. I had a good feeling. Today, I decided to have a good day.

I rose from the bed and stretched myself before hitting the bathroom. After showering up, I dressed up in blue jeans and a black shirt. I knew that Rebekah was going to give me that look of disapproval before I changed into my scrubs but I didn’t care. She’d told me once that I needed to wear clothes that made my abdomen free because of my pregnancy, but I didn’t feel the need to.

Ever since I left the Blue Valley pack, I haven’t had a problem with my pregnancy. There was no kid or pestering from the child. It was almost like they’d gone radio silent. I was happy.

I got downstairs and found Stella making breakfast. Today was Sunday; her day off which gave her time in the kitchen.

“You should have made me make breakfast,” I said as I walk

Rohan“Rohan. This is the most terrible idea you’ve made in your life,” Jarred said as we watched the nurses roll Damon to a ward on a bed. I sighed and rubbed my hand on my chin. He had saved my life and I was grateful for that. I couldn’t leave him to die even though I didn’t like him. Damon was going to get better. And we were going to go after Cassian when all of this was done. “Alright. I’ll see you tomorrow,” I heard Dayton say on the phone from a distance before coming back into the hospital. He sighed as he shoved his phone back into his pocket. “I just got off the phone with my Luna. I told her what’s going on. She’s pretty shocked, but she understands.”I sighed and nodded. “Are you sure he is going to be alright?” Dayton asked. I nodded, tightening my jaws. Damon was going to be fine. But as soon as Rebekah smelled him, she was going to come after me. It was a terrible idea. And worst of all, Anna worked here. If she found out that Damon was here, she was going to freak

Rohan“Wait a second,” Jarred asked, holding his flashlight. We all turned to him thinking that he had something to contribute, but he looked genuinely scared. The fright in his eyes was like an illness I had never seen before. He was the only beta in the room, he must be terrified by the aura oozing from all of us. I was surprised that he was still on his feet. “Who’s this guy again?” Damon asked, pointing his thumb at Jarred. I rolled my eyes before answering him. “That’s my beta, genius.”He looked at me completely irked and with a cranked eyebrow. “You brought your beta here?”I was lost by his question. “What would you know about having a best friend?” I asked. Damon clenched his jaws as his lemon eyes glared at me in rage. His hands balled into fists and I knew he was ready to go another round. This time I wasn’t going to back down. I was going to give him. “Can you guys slow down for a minute?” Dayton asked, irritated. “We need to figure out what’s going on here.”“Who

Damon A few hours earlier…The dining table was quiet, the sound of cutlery on the ceramic breaking the silence in intervals. I wasn’t ready to have a conversation with my mom, and it seemed she felt the same way. If this was how she was going to be, then there was no hope of getting the location from her. She was tougher than I expected. My dad looked at me on occasion wondering if I was going to say anything. But I wasn’t. Not this time. But then, he got fed up and dropped the fork, pushing the plate aside. My mom looked up at him in confusion. “What is it?” She asked. “Why are the both of you acting like kids?” He demanded, folding his arms. I didn’t say anything. Rather, I kept having dinner. “This is how the both of you are going to behave, then we might as well call it a night,” he said. I dropped the cutlery and wiped my lips. I didn’t want to stay for dinner, but he had urged me to. Things panning out this way had been obvious from the start. I saw it, but his hope of

Rohan We arrived at the house a couple of hours later and I had to say that it wasn’t what I expected. The blood handwriting was still there and there were still police cars on standby. We leaned back into the seats hoping that the cops wouldn’t see us. “I hate the police,” Jarred muttered as he lay his head back on the headrest. “Don’t let them hear you say that,” I said. “They are just doing their job. They think this is something relating to a serial killer.”Well, Cassian was a serial killer. Who knows how long he had been one? Three, maybe four centuries. Maybe even more. I sighed and watched the humans. They were talking to each other in hushed tones and it was hard to make out what they were saying because of the sirens that were blaring. After what seemed like thirty minutes, the last car departed. I turned to Jarred and found him sleeping on the passenger’s seat. I rolled my eyes and patted him on the shoulder. He jerked away and wiped the drool off his lips. “They are

Rohan “Just as I was about to cut his throat off, my blood dropped and that’s when he went berserk on me,” I said as we stepped out of the elevator. Jarred was paying rapt attention as I narrated my ordeal with Leonardo before he escaped. I was still bugged about him slipping off my fingers. I knew there were detriments to letting him escape and I was guessing that the vampires scouting our territory was one of them. Leonardo was working for Cassian after all. Even at the point of death, he had still lied to me. This showed what a menace Cassian was. He would rather die than betray his master. This made me itch to get a hold of him. There were a lot of things that I wanted him to do. I would torture him until he begged for his life. But of course, that was all a fantasy. I didn’t know where to start. Cassian could be anywhere. And that was what bugged me. He could be here in Pennsylvania or any other state. “And then he ran off?” Jarred asked as we sat by the counter. I sighed,
