(Patricia’s POV)

Although this situation had slightly changed my plans against the Bedfords, I was glad it would at least make Raymond less worried.

"I still can’t believe this," James’ voice pulled me out of my thoughts.

"The tables have turned," he continued, smiling faintly. "And the best part is that whoever did this also involved the police and pressed charges against Elizabeth on your behalf."

That too. Elizabeth had been arrested earlier today for assaulting me. I didn’t even know about the arrest until now, but of course, everyone would assume it was me who did it.

"You can’t drop the charges, alright? They need to pay for what they’ve done to you these past days," James said firmly.

His eyes held a hopeful look, like he really wanted me to promise. Why would I even think of dropping the charges? I wasn’t the one who got her arrested anyway. And besides, whatever was happening to them now, they deserved every bit of it.

"Don’t worry, James. That won’t happen," I replied calmly

  • The Forsaken Wife's Empire   Chapter 95: Raymond's Wife

(Patricia’s POV) The moment Raymond announced me as his wife, my eyes immediately went to Lucy. She looked shocked, like she was living a terrible nightmare. Her eyes showed bitter pain… but that pain was nothing compared to what I had endured from her and her family over the years. The glass in her hand slipped and shattered loudly on the floor, and everyone turned to look at her in surprise. A tiny, satisfied smile curved my lips as I watched how shaken she was. This was exactly the face I had imagined she would make when she found out about Raymond and me. "Ma'am, are you okay?" the Event Manager asked politely. She ignored him, her eyes locked on Raymond, as tears streamed down her face. She couldn’t handle the betrayal. But did Raymond really betray her? I didn’t think so. She was hurt by her own stupidity. As far as I knew, Raymond had never loved her... yet she had stayed, obsessing over him for years. I knew the only way to shake her emotionally was to marry Raymond,

  • The Forsaken Wife's Empire   Chapter 94: Unwelcome Surprise

(Lucy’s POV)It was Patricia’s first appearance at a business event like this, and people were stunned to finally see the famous Mrs. Addison... one of the most important and powerful figures in the business world. But to me, I hated every second of it. I hated how she had effortlessly become the center of attention. How she commanded instant respect from these high-profile executives. One by one, they went to greet her... offering handshakes, bowing slightly... eager to make their presence known to her.My jaw tightened. How did all of this happen? Just months ago, she was nothing but a useless housewife with absolutely nothing to her name. Even Rose, a mere mistress, lived better than her. Yet suddenly, after divorcing Mason, she became successful… and even worse, she now owned our company.“Wow, she looks even more beautiful in person than on TV,” the idiot, Mr. Kane, said beside me.I shot him a deadly glare, unable to hold back my irritation. How dare he compliment her in my pres

  • The Forsaken Wife's Empire   Chapter 93: The Return to the Party

(Lucy’s POV) “I’ve waited for you all these years, and you still went ahead and married someone else. Why, Raymond?” I cried out after him. But he didn’t stop. He didn’t even turn to look at me. It was like my pain meant nothing to him… like my feelings didn’t matter at all. My chest tightened painfully as I watched him disappear into the dark. I had poured out my heart to him again. Tonight was probably the millionth time I’d tried, and just like always, he looked irritated by it. “Why?” I whispered in a cracked voice. “Why does he always act like I disgust him?” Was it really that hard for him to notice me? I wore this dress specifically for him. It fit perfectly, hugging my curves so well that no man could resist staring. Everyone else noticed… except the one man I wanted. Raymond barely looked at me. His full attention was on that shameless woman he married. A tear rolled down my cheek, but I quickly wiped it away, refusing to break down. “I can’t give up now,” I murmured

  • The Forsaken Wife's Empire   Chapter 92: When Pain Meets Love

(Patricia’s POV)"Yes, her husband," Raymond answered, placing his hand on my shoulder like it was his permanent right.Henry’s expression shifted the moment he saw that, but he didn’t say anything. “Thanks a lot for keeping me company tonight,” I said softly, offering him a gentle smile. “I really appreciate it.”Henry smiled back, though it looked forced, then he turned and left. I waved as he entered his car and drove off.The moment he was out of sight, Raymond turned sharply toward me."Why were you with that man?" he demanded through clenched teeth. "Since when did you become this close?"I rolled my eyes. Was he being serious? He showed up acting so possessive after what he did. What right did he have to behave like this when he was the one keeping other women in his life? Besides, Henry and I were practically family. There was nothing more to it. No romance. No flirting. Nothing. He cared for me like an elder brother."And you even let him touch your hair," Raymond continued

  • The Forsaken Wife's Empire   Chapter 91: Jealousy in the Garden

(Patricia’s POV) I hadn’t planned to come to this garden. It wasn’t part of anything I mapped out for tonight, yet here I was, walking aimlessly, replaying everything in my head. Was I wrong to trust Raymond? Was I wrong to believe he was different… that what we had could actually be real? Tonight, I was supposed to introduce us to the world. To finally let everyone know we were a couple. But then a woman appeared from nowhere and kissed him... right in front of everyone... insisting she knew him. Could someone really be that bold? Could she make such accusations if there wasn’t even a tiny bit of truth in it? Seeing that broke something inside me. But being the president of Smithfield had taught me one thing: protect your image at all costs. I couldn’t let myself be dragged into that kind of drama, so I quietly left. “How long do you plan to keep walking?” a familiar voice said calmly. “You’ll get cramps.” I turned immediately, blinking at the sight in front of me. “Henry? Wh

  • The Forsaken Wife's Empire   Chapter 90: Chaos on the Red Carpet

(Raymond’s POV)Gasps exploded from every direction. People froze. Cameras flashed like lightning. I jerked back instantly, pushing her away with force. “What nonsense is this?” I snapped, wiping my lips in disgust. “Who the hell are you?” Her eyes widened with hurt, as if I had wronged her. “What do you mean, Raymond?” she asked in a sad, trembling tone. “Why did you push me away like that?” I stared hard at her, completely lost. “I don’t even know who you are.” She blinked rapidly, tears filling her eyes. “How can you stand here and pretend you don’t know me? Why? Are you scared your new wife will see us together?” I clenched my fists tightly, my eyes burning with anger. She actually had the guts to stand there and lie to my face. What exactly was she up to? “You promised to love me,” she continued loudly, her voice cracking just enough to be dramatic. “You promised that your marriage wouldn’t stop you from loving me. Now you’re acting like I’m a stranger?” Her voice rose l
