Torn bibles and the disarranged musical instruments took the rest of my time.

When I finished, I could hardly feel my legs due to exhaustion. I left the sacristy only to meet a group of sisters and nuns in front of the big TV in the bible study shed outside the church building.

Lydia stood aside, two other nuns who I knew to be her minions stood beside her. Three of them looked like p**n stars in Nun dressing rather than saints.

Sister Veronica ran to me. “Hey, Little Saint, What have you been doing?”

Asking as if she wasn't the one who left me with the most work made my stomach churn. But I smiled obediently and looked towards Lydia. “Oh, Sister. A serpent crawled in after you left, it took me a while to get it out.”

“Jesus!” Veronica screamed, and this got Lydia's attention. “Are you fine, little saint? How did the snake get into the sanctity? But…”

My eyes now fixed on Lydia's silver eyes, I shook my head. “It's not an ordinary snake, Sister Veronica. Just like how Satan came like a snake to our first mother Eve….”

Veronica looked confused… “Eve…?”

“Exactly. That snake came in human form with a fake ginger hair and a bratty attitude.” I looked away and held the sister's hand. “I thought it was Mother Mary's sanctuary cleaning time? Why are you people here?”

Lydia hissed just like I described her as a snake and walked away with pride.

That's good. Letting her see through me would give her the upper hand. And I'd rather sell my soul to the devil than let some gingerbread bitch gloat over my fall.

“Yes, Actually we're in the middle of the cleaning when Father Zion's gym session came on. Everyone was interested, you know.” Sister Veronica pulled my hand. “I bet you don't know what a man looks like without a cloth, you should come watch.”

What an opportunity to leave me with the sanctuary cleaning. If only she knew I'd see not what's only behind the cloth but under the trousers.

I gently yanked my hand off. “It’s a pleasure sister. But I don't think I'm old enough to see such things now. I want to dedicate my heart to the Lord and any earthly delights are a distraction.”

“Oh, you're right, little saint. You should hurry back home. I heard your Mum and the Alpha are on a trip to Rome?”

“Yes, for their honeymoon.”

I was already moving. I need to go get myself mentally and emotionally ready for school on Monday. Lydia was indeed like the serpent in the garden of Eden. I must not fall for her ‘apple’ like Eve did.

I got changed out of the long lace into something casual. Only God knows where Reign and his brothers would be but I don't care.

Meals were served and I ate alone as much as I wanted, unlike how I eat less whenever the whole family eats together — ‘Perfect daughter’ according to my mom.

A few minutes before the church bells rang for evening prayer, the maids at the gym room entrance got my attention.

They all dispersed when they saw me coming and that has always been the norm here. I remembered when Alpha Moses told everyone to treat me like they would treat his real daughter.

I leaned over and watched the gym procession in progress.

“Yes… that's it.” Brother Egzon the butler's son and also Zion's best friend urged him. “Now, faster.”

Zion's back was turned against the door where I was watching from. He ran faster on the treadmill and for a second I was captivated.

Now I see the reason why the sisters left their holy work to watch him.

I've heard Zion used to be an influential body builder until he took his vows but never saw him do it.

Lord of Mercy! How could the Alpha make a son as handsome and well built as this priest.

“Time for evening service, Egg.” Zion suddenly stopped and turned. “Prepare my cassock, I'm leading the prayers.”

Then he advanced towards the door, still shirtless as Egzon stayed behind for what I couldn't see.

Oh God, Zion must not catch me watching. I instantly turned to leave but then — Fate struck! Below the belt like always.

“Little Saint?” His lethal voice rang out.

I turned like a mannequin. “Y..Yes, father?”

Our eyes met and sweat ran down from his low cut to his long veiny neck and chest.

No. I took to my heels and fled. Not anymore.

Had I stayed longer, I might lose my control if not my sanity.
