Chapter 2.

Everyone was at the cafeteria enjoying their meals. Melanie's group were seated around the table, Jay's voice was so loud everyone around them heard their conversation. No one could understand his story but he proceeded anyway. "So, I was stood there confused, when suddenly the car came to a stop. You should had seen it, it somersaulted six times." Jay said as he tried to give them a picture of the scene, everyone stared at him hoping for his story to end, but something caught Melanie's and everyone's attention.

"Hold up, Jay you want to tell me that instead of you calling for help, you were counting how many times it somersaulted, what the fuck is wrong with you." She pulled his ear, but Jay didn't care about it one bit.

"Hey, what were you expecting me to do, wait for the car to stop tumbling or get help and return only to find out that the car fell off another cliff." He shouted.

"It fell off another cliff?" With that he got everyone's attention to see whether or not someone survived, they leaned closer and waited for a reply, giving Jay the opportunity to prolong his forever story.

"Yeah, so I couldn't find the car and when I think about it, its kinda funny, you should had seen it." Jay laughed.

Daniel a friend of Melanie stared at him with surprise all over his face. "Dude are you that heartless, a family just died."

"It's not like its my fault the car was on fire, even the family wouldn't blame me, they were the ones who jumped out of the car, luckily I saved only the baby, they probably never like the little guy so they threw him out first." He never went straight to the point and that kept people in suspense, trying to kill him will be pointless else they were ready to put an end to him.

Melanie, now confused shook her head and asked, "It was on fire?"

Jay turned towards his sister and yelled at her, "Can you stop repeating everything I say, its annoying." From the looks of it, he didn't get it one bit, everyone was tired of his story and the events were so annoying.

"Well at least he saved the baby." Autumn said trying to end the story.

Melanie shook her head. "He did, but it died a month later." She said, everyone gave up hopes and continued with their food, but Autumn annoyed abandoned her food, turned to Melanie and asked, "how did you end up with him?"

"Don't ask me, am the one stuck with him." Melanie  shouted with irritation in her voice.

"Its not her fault, and the fact that you're intelligent doesn't mean you have wisdom." Said a male voice from behind, she turned her head to find out who it was and saw a tall handsome figure approaching her, he was about 6.5 feet tall and had a dashing smile, he looked around and caught a glimpse of Melanie's angered face.

"And where have you been?" Melanie asked with anger in her voice.

"Serving detention with the ghosts, they were pretty loud." He took his tray and sat next to Jay so he could face Melanie but her mood only worsened.

"What got you in detention". Jay asked.

"I snuck into the Vice Principal's office and took a picture of Mr Edwin half naked, trust me you do not want to see that mans underwear." Melanie giggled and smiled, but after realizing herself she returned back to a frown.

She cleared her throat and asked, "And what got you out?"

"We did a little exchange, the picture for my freedom, but don't worry. I still have the original." He noticed the new face and looked at Melanie, "and who is she?"

"Autumn, the new girl." Melanie replied.

"Oh.... Never heard of her, pleased to meet you Autumn, am Adam." He reached out for a handshake but she didn't return his handshake rather all she said was, "you must be Melanie's boyfriend."

"Good guess. Heard your parents are researchers, what are they up to?" He asked as he withdrew his hand, most of the people she met wanted to greet her with a handshake, the only reason Melanie and Jay didn't try to have a handshake with her was because they were good observers.

In hopes to end this talk she quickly replied, "thought you never heard of me."

He smiled and said. "Fair point."

She smiled and said. "Anyway. Got no idea, they hardly talk to me about it."

Adam's shoulder drop as he said, "bummer."

"Tell me about it." She rose her head once she remembered something, she looked Adam in the eyes and said. "Anyway. So what's up with the ghost talks." She asked.

"Principal Donald's coming today, everyone has to be present since the old ghost knows every kid in school including you." He pointed at Autumn and drew nearer until Melanie said.

"Don't worry, for you to be here, it means you got the gift only Diviners gets sent here, its very rear to find an entire family filled with gifted people, I mean most of us are without our parents, those people are just our foster parents, the government's really bent on keeping us secret, they keep grading us based on our rank, once they start calling you Sir or Lord by the Divine punishers, the decision makers, our ghost and even us then you know you're on the right path then you become a Super high student then you get transfered but its very difficult to go that far. Anyway so..., who was the first ghost you ever saw." Melanie asked, they were waiting for her story while she was terribly confused, she thought this was a joke but it clearly wasn't.

         "Who?"

"You know, your first ghost?" Melanie said.

"No one. I don't know what you're talking about." She laughed. There was only one thing she could understand, they weren't joking or pulling a prank on her, she had a feeling like they weren't lying. The bell rings and everyone leaves the cafeteria.

Confused, she was deep in thoughts that she missed her classroom, it was Melanie who tapped her shoulders and took her by the arm leading a confused Autumn inside.

She sat on her seat and soon the teacher started sharing something, it was a Ouija board and she began to wander what its purpose was, the door opened and some other students joined them but they looked bored and tired.

"Okay everyone take your position." Said a man as he walked in, from the cold gaze and respect he was given she could tell that he was Principal Donald.

"Fine." Said a boy as he walked up to Autumn, "hey, can we hurry up with this cause I have somewhere to be. Oh I didn't sign up for this."

"You have exactly ten minutes to trap your ghosts inside their belongings and bring them back, do you understand." Their teacher said, Autumn shook her head and yelled.

"No, I don't even know what this is."

"Don't worry you'll be okay, just copy someone. Ready, set, begin." Everyone was doing something with their Ouija board but Autumn, well she had no idea on how to even use the thing so she kept copying everyone especially Jay, he seemed to know what he was doing but along the line she got the step wrong and cut herself by accident, her eyes grew thin as her hand kept moving and it drew the attention of everyone, on her Ouija board were symbols, the blood from her hand kept flowing down and staining the floor, no one knew how but it was a bad cut then they thought everything was okay until the ghost kept searching for something endlessly, he stopped when he noticed her drawings, "The symbol of the Ghoul, you summoned a ghoul, impossible."

She felt dizzy and held her head, "I don't know, I feel strange inside." At hearing this the principal looked at her closely to examine her, he backed away when he was certain of something "She's been possessed. Okay, which one of you let Georgie in..."

"What's wrong." She asked, the ghost turned to her and replied.

He said, "Strange, I feel a ghoul's presence."

Melanie on the other hand doubted it, "But we sense nothing, what's happening." Everyone was clearly confused and panicking.

"That's what's happening." The man walked up to Autumn's ghost and picked up the ring, he examined every bit of it and turned to the ghost. "Georgie was released and he got her to summon a ghoul and If am correct which I know I am then I believe this ring doesnt belong to you does it?"

The ghost before her sighed, his shoulders dropped and he cried. "Ok so I switched the ring with the one in your office so what."

"Peter, take this and make sure its in my safe 'SAFE'". He said with his eyes on the ghost. This was the craziest thing that might have ever happened to her and this only means her father was right all along, there were ghosts in Greenville. She still hadn't processed everything and didn't tell anybody, she ran straight for her room not bothering about her dinner or anything.

The next day after Henry woke her up, he was about to leave when he stopped on his track, turned around and held out Autumn's hand in a rush.

       "What's this?" He asked.

She was still a little dizzy and didn't get what he was saying. She sat up and stared at him confused. "What's, what...?" She was taken back when she realized what he meant by that, the ring from yesterday was on her finger so she wondered..., 'How did it get here.' She refused to say another word so as to ignore his question and in time he left, once he did she reached for her phone and started dialing numbers but all her calls were sent to voicemail.

Once they got the message everyone ran to her house and she locked the door. "Okay, where do you think the ring from yesterday is?" She asked hiding her hand behind her back.

They could sense trouble but tried to remain calm,"In the 'safe SAFE' of the superior." Adam answered.

"And just how safe is this SAFE place." She asked.

Her question was getting them worried but still they chose to remain calm, they believed she might just be asking to clarify things so they had to wait for her to finish, "Extremely, you have to go through five safe before you can reach this safe, although no one has been able to open this safe in a hundred years or more." Adam said.

"Then how come its in my finger." She said, showing off the ring which won't let her finger be, they drew near to check if it was the ring and of a truth it was the ring.

Emily began panting heavily and held her chest, fear wandered around the room as the sound of a ghoul awakened sounded frightening, "how did it get here and its on her finger too." Emily said, "this is bad, we have to talk to the principal."

"Emily are you crazy, if we tell the principal they'll have to get the ring off her finger and from what we've seen this ring isn't leaving her finger." Shouted Jay. "We'll have to fix this ourselves, from what I've learnt it will take at least a day to get the ghoul to awaken." Autumn looked at Jay with surprise but the others weren't, when they said he was intelligent they weren't joking, he was a master of ghouls and ghost so all this was nothing to him.

They waited with her all day, she wasn't allowed to leave her room and in the afternoon they went home to get their things for a sleepover, the boys slept with Henry although he had no idea why he still said nothing, and the girls with Autumn. The next morning as the alarm woke everyone up well except Autumn, they stood around her bed thinking of how she was still asleep and how to wake up Autumn but none of them seemed to have a plan, just then Henry walked in, he turned to the left side and his eyes widened, he left and then he returned with a bucket of water and then 'splash' went the cold water as Autumn jumped up.

"Fuck." She shouted, Henry clearly had anger written all over his face, "can we not do this, am trying to sleep." She said.

"Explain this." He shouted as she turned to the side he was pointing to, there by the side of her bed was a young Asian ghoul, he was dressed like he was ready for a fancy funeral and all he did was smile, "what did you do Autumn?" Henry shouted.

She cleared her throat and said, "what did I do, what did... It was an accident okay."

"This one feels different, I can't tell if he's a human or ghoul but he's a ghoul am sure of it." He said. "Where did his body rise from, any idea of the grave."

"Hey, didn't we all wake up and meet a ghoul, obviously he was only walking towards the calling of the ring." Jay said, "besides, the ring, it's gone. How?"

"What is your name?" Henry asked.

He slightly bowed and greeted,   "I am Kazuki, but you can call me Kazu"

Henry's attention was still on the body so he asked again, "Answer me Kazu, whose body is this?"

Adam looked closer and joined Henry, "Yeah, whose body, cause this one really looks familiar."

"According to the stone, the name 'Andrew Nagisa' was written on it." Kazu said with a smile.

"You dug up Andrew's body!" They all chorused, he looked at them and knew they weren't happy so his smile faded.

"I needed a host and the boy just died, what more do you expect." He said.

Autumn looked at the ghoul then asked the ghoul, "What do you want."

"To know the person who summoned me?" He said.

She rose her hand and answered, "that would be me."

"Thank you. Forgive my, but my name is the only thing that I remember, I don't know why." Kazu said.

        "No one cares." Jay shouted.

"But I do, miss..." He waited for her response before she said a word.

        "Autumn."

"Such a beautiful name, and your eyes are a combination of the colors of the Autumn." He said, it was obvious his words we're flattering but it had no effect on her but rather on Jay, Jay was already fuming with anger when he cleared his throat and said, "Hey are you here to destroy us or are you here to hit on our classmate."

"Actually, I'm not here for either." He said, he tried to walk up to Autumn but Henry stepped into the middle, "Back. Off." He said with his arms crossed.

He stretched his neck and legs then looked above Henry's shoulder. "How is it that I have your blood flowing through my veins."

"It was an honest mistake, I had other intentions." She said.

He pushed Henry aside and grabbed her hand, shaking it continuously, "Actually thank you, Master."

"Master, oh yes, we forgot. According to the rules, she awakened you so she practically controls you right." Jay said.

They nodded. He continued, "And since her blood flows in your, that makes them, well awkwardly related."

"As in, oh.... Wonderful, your first ghost!" Melanie exclaimed.

Emily gasped and said, "This is good."

Autumn was still confused and asked, "What is?"

"The fact that you're well his superior, in other words, you're his master, this way nobody can touch him without your permission that is, if you accept him as yours." Adam said,.

"Is this the all powerful ghoul?". Melanie asked, he didn't look threatening at all, he was just..., calm.

"Why would the principal hide him." Jay asked, suspicions crept into their minds and they began to wonder.

Autumn on the other hand couldn't care less, "Don't know, don't care, am too young to be called a Master, so dont call me that."

"Hey, it's not like its our fault." Adam said.

"Well is it my fault then." She snapped.

"Calm down Autumn." Henry said, "firstly we have to tell our parents about this, the we'll figure out a solution." Henry, together with Autumn walked straight to the kitchen and approached their parents who were tired of the stupid alarm.

After explaining everything to them, their parents mouth dropped and they became speechless until her mother said. "Exactly what do you mean by you 'have to hide him here', wherever she goes, he goes, wherever she tells him to go, he goes, the both of them are stuck together and exactly how did this happen?"

"Josh summoned Georgie who possessed Autumn." Melanie said.

"And exactly who is this Josh." She asked.

"The most prankful ghost in all of Greenville, the teachers hate him." Said her Father from behind, he sighed and dropped the newspaper he was reading, his wife understood perfectly what this meant, he never admitted he didn't like something or someone, he always used an indirect style to explain his feelings.

"By teachers meaning you." Jane said,

      He smiled and answered

"Precisely."

"Why didn't anyone tell me about the ghost stuff earlier." Autumn shouted.

Henry laughed at the sound of this and replied, "Oh, for crying out loud, we tried to tell you everyday but you never wanted to listen."

She calmed down, and agrees, "Oh, right. Hold on, ghosts, ghouls, this means you're the Divine helpers."

"Yes." Henry said, "and you're one too. The population of ghost are rising too fast, and we don't know why, so they needed all the Divine helpers they could get, and since our family is one of them we had to help, those ghosts need our help to get to the afterlife, it is based on their performance serving their masters that they know where they belong, Heaven or Hell. The other sectors around the world are doing their best to make sure those who hasn't left for the afterlife, and are stuck on earth find their way home."

"This town is for extraordinary people, that's why we came here, all of us can see it, including your mother, thought you'd figure it out by now." Her father said.

She folded her arms and replied, "I got possessed by a spirit."

"And I teach ghost and they are really loud." Mr Arthur said.

Satisfied by his words she said, "Fair enough."

"Good. Now can you please leave me be, I want to get some rest." He shouted as he picked up his newspaper again.

"Well congratulations on having your first ghost, every kid here has one, actually we are well known for how many ghosts we have and you just joined the group." Adam said.

        "Really?"

"Yeah, its quite an achievement." Henry said as Autumn smiled the more, feeling proud of herself.

"But no one must know about him, its still dangerous for him." Melanie said. "But, since you have your own we can now get along just fine, Talia."

A young girl appeared, "Yes my lady." She said.

"This is my ghost Talia." Melanie said.

       "Gracie." Emily said.

       "Fredrick." Jay said.

       "Jessie." Adam said.

"Oh my, its a ghoul." Screamed Fredrick. The other ghost couldn't understand what was wrong with a ghoul so they thought he was over reacting.

       "So." Jessie said.

"You don't know what a ghoul is do you?"

They shook their heads and Gracie said, "Nope."

"Ghouls are known as fiendish creatures, they are stubborn, and dangerous isn't that so Kazu." He said, focusing on the ghoul who found him dramatic, Kazu smiled at him, and said.

"True. But not every joke is false, and not every fact is true, I am a ghoul yes, but then not every ghoul is exactly as they say we are, there are good ghouls and there are bad ghouls and I am one of the good ghouls."

       "Really..."

Kazu continued, "if I were a dangerous, fiendish whatever you said I was I would had killed your owners by now."

      "So what?"

"You'd be stuck here if that happens but here you are, still talking." Jessie said.

Talia patted him on the shoulder, "He has a point, Freddie." She said.

Kazu had won the argument, "So what do you say, will you end your accusations." He said.

"Very well then, pleased to meet you Kazu." Freddie extended his hand for a handshake, and Kazu happily responded.

       "The pleasure is all mine."
