The Scarlet Pack was way quieter and peaceful than Edwin had expected.

Situated between hills of crimson-streaked rocks and evergreen trees, the settlement felt strangely reverent as if even the wind knew to move carefully.

The Seer’s dwelling was not grand like he had envisioned and thought of it. The old cabin was still as it was, only with a little renovations here and there. Dozens of offerings of flowers, coins, fabrics, and food lined the path.

“She lives alone,” the escort from alpha Zac

When the courtyard fell quiet again, Edwin stood looking over the valley, the rising sun washing over the scars of battle.Tiara stepped beside him. "You could have ended him there," she said softly. "Why didn't you?"Edwin exhaled slowly. "Death is mercy," he said. "Let them live long enough to understand what they destroyed."Tiara nodded, her gaze drifting toward the distant horizon. "Then justice has begun."Edwin's expression softened slightly. "No," he said. "It has only just begun."The wind carried the faint sound of chains from the dungeons below. A cruel, metallic reminder that the war's true punishment had only started-------Back in the Ashbane camp, the fires of victory had turned cold. The soldiers who had pledged themselves to Vanessa now whispered behind her back, uncertain, uneasy. Word of Garrett's c

The first light of dawn crept across the valley, pale and cold.Where the night before had been filled with roars and clashing steel, now only smoke and silence remained. There were so many bodies littered across the field. Soldiers of both sides, wolves and men alike. The once-proud banners of the Ashbane pack lay torn and soaked in mud.At the center of the field, Garrett was being dragged to his knees by two Dark Moon warriors, his wrists bound tightly with silver chains. His face was smeared with dirt and blood, but his eyes still burned with defiance.Beside him, Vanessa stood trembling, her once-silken hair matted with sweat, her fine dress in tatters."Why are you even dragging me? What is this about?" He asked."You amaze me for a traitor, man," one of the men chuckled." He's got so many balls, right?" The other sai

Vanessa smiled, her voice cold and smooth as silk. "Then you swear allegiance to me. When the dust settles, my father will be dead, Edwin will be weakened, and I will be the only heir left to claim the Ashbane name."Her calm, matter-of-fact tone terrified them more than any war cry could."Those who stand with me," she added, "will keep their lands. Those who do not..." She paused, letting the silence fill in the threat. "...will share my father's grave even before they blink."By the time she left the tent, the captains had already begun whispering among themselves. The army was splitting silently invisibly, one half loyal to Garrett, the other to Vanessa.Later that night, Garrett awoke in a cold sweat. His chest burned, his veins felt heavy, and the faint metallic taste of wolfsbane lingered on his tongue. He pushed himself upright, gasping, and saw Jon standing by the tent flap, tense and uncert

The war tents of the Ashbane roared with noise and firelight. The drums that had shaken the horizon now thundered in full rhythm.Inside the largest tent, Garrett stood before a table strewn with maps, his eyes wild, his breath heavy with rage and fever. The smell of wolfsbane tincture, his "medicine", lingered faintly in the air, a reminder of his weak, decaying strength. He slammed his fist on the table, scattering coins and tokens that marked the battle formations. "Fools! Every last one of them!" he barked. "How long have they woken up from their slumber for them to have gathered so much evidence?""Even with the evidence, do they think a few scraps of paper make me guilty? They forget who bled for this pack! Who built its walls and crushed its enemies!"Jon, standing a cautious distance away, exchanged a look with one of the lieutenants. Garrett's fury had been growing

A sudden scuffle near the back drew attention. A few of Garrett's loyal guards surged forward, but Ralph's men intercepted them, forcing them back at swordpoint.Vanessa, ever the actress, rose slowly, lifting her hands as if to soothe the chaos."My people," she said, her voice honeyed and false, "we must not be quick to condemn. Mistakes can be forged, documents can be faked...""Enough!" Edwin snapped. His voice echoed like a storm. "Every seal, every coin, every death ties back to your father. This is the end of his lies, and yours, too, if you continue to defend him."For a split second, Vanessa's mask slipped. Her pupils dilated, her breath shallow. But then she straightened, smoothing her gown. "If you truly believe that, then you will have no fear of a trial. Let the pack see it. Let the council judge it. I have nothing to hide."Edwin stepped closer and whispered to her,

The hall had nearly devolved into chaos, but Edwin's voice was quick to cut through it like a sword through fog."Enough!"The single word echoed across the chamber. The murmurs died instantly, replaced by a suffocating silence."This," he said, gesturing to the ledger spread before him, "is not a market debate. This is the law of our pack. And as the alpha of this pack, I will see this through, now."Ralph took a deliberate step forward, signaling the guards. The massive oak doors to the council chamber swung shut with a deep thud. The sound echoed like a warning."No one leaves," Ralph declared. "At least, not until the truth we have come here to seek has been spoken."A ripple of tension spread across the hall. The council members shifted in their seats, wives clutched their shawls, and warriors exchanged uneasy glances because they knew Ralp

A few minutes later, Vanessa walked out of a place where Lena assumed to be her bathroom. She watched her as she took a seat before her. Dressed in a silky black robe. She crossed her arms, wearing an expectant expression ."And??" She coldly said.Lena immediately fell on her knees. Her face glued

The doors to the arena shut close with a heavy thud, and the lock slid into place. Only Edwin and Ralph remained inside.
