36. Revelation part 2
"A-Adeline? W-What are you talking about? I am her brother, Reynolds." She stuttered with agitation and fumbled with the end of her shirt. She took a step back for, every step I took forward.
"Really? I don't think so," I replied coolly, my steps never faltered.
She realized that her little secret was exposed to me. She made a maddening dash to the door and jiggled with the knob. The door was old and the lock was present at the top and the middle. The top of the door was too high for her to reach.
I locked the door before approaching her at my balcony. I stopped on my spot and folded my arms in front of my chest and gave her an amused glance. She looked like a caged little mouse who was trying to break free. She looked adorable. When she realized that the door was locked and its lock was located at the top, she swiftly turned in my direction with wide eyes.
