Kael’s POV

“Make sure nothing goes wrong with the resources, alright? Make sure there will be no disruptions with the allocated sources. I want everything to be smooth!”

“Yes, Alpha,” the guard replied to her.

I leaned back slightly, letting out a slow breath. My eyes followed Syria as she moved around the tribe, busy as ever.

She was sorting through the tribe’s affairs, handing out the supplies her uncle had left behind. Everything was a mess.

But through her, she made sure the loyal tribesmen got what they needed. She was also finalizing some trade deal with Angus.

I still didn’t trust that man. Something about him rubbed me the wrong way. But if Syria was fine with working alongside him, then I wasn’t going to make a scene. If she felt safe, then I could live with it.

“Alpha,” a voice called beside me.

I turned and saw one of my servants. He had traveled here from my side of the tribe. Our people had merged not long ago, and now some of my citizens were here helping Syria’s people
