Syria’s POV

“What the hell did you just say?!”

I froze the moment I heard Novene’s voice. I hadn’t even realized she had been listening the whole time.

Before I could even respond or react, she stormed down the stairs with fury written all over her face.

Without hesitation, she charged at me.

“How fucking dare you!” she screamed. Her voice cracked at the edge.

Novene lunged toward me, her hands raised like claws, ready to scratch my face. Her expression was wild and unhinged.

But before she could actually reach me, Uncle stepped in.

“Don’t you dare touch her!” he shouted.

His voice was sharp and commanding. He shoved Novene back. It was enough to make her stumble a step or two.

Novene looked stunned. Her eyes welled up with tears, but there was no sadness in them. Just burning anger and heartbreak.

She pointed a shaking finger at me. Her jaw was clenched so tight I thought her teeth might crack.
