I smiled slowly instead of getting angry.

This was something I had expected all along. Honestly, I wanted this to happen. I had been pushing him, testing him, hoping he'd finally break.

I stood straight after getting knocked down, holding my chin high. My hands were steady, even though my heart was pounding in my chest.
