Chapter 29

Kerrick was still swamped with work for most of the week but he came to bed whenever it got too late and he'd hold me before he fell asleep, this small act making up for the time we lost together since he wasn't around much. I was just glad whenever he was near me because it never felt enough. We were only in our first few months of marriage but we'd already been through a lifetime of things.

It was an odd feeling being in love, it wasn't like what I saw in movies or what my friends told me.
