CHAPTER 21

Grayson, with a set look on his face watched quietly as Maya stood still when the additional bodyguards’ he had called for introduced themselves to them the following day in the villa. Turning towards the housekeeper he also had hired, nodded at her to serve them some breakfast.

“The additional bodyguards are overrated, Grayson,” Maya complained to him lightly when the two of them were finally alone in the living room. “Why not just lock me up instead?”

“If I have my way, Maya, I would have already done it,” he countered calmly, knowing deep down that she is holding her anger. He turned and walked towards the dining area, sitting on one chair. He picked up the morning paper and made himself busy by reading the headlines while he hears her preparing at the kitchen. “But I know you won’t like it. So, the bodyguards will do.”

Maya distracted him by waving his cup of coffee in front of his sight before placing it down in front of him. She then stomped back to the counter.
