I had never run so fast in my life.

The moment I heard Aria's return being announced from the gates. I was already jumping over the steps and darting across the courtyard, with my heart beating so hard I could hear it.

It had been two long months since she left for the temple. And she was back.

By the time I reached the gates, I was met with a disturbing sight.

Aria was on the stone, clutching her belly, her face pale with pain as the priestesses tried to hold her steady.

“Aria!” I roared. Without thinking, I rushed towards her, dropping to my knees.

Her eyes barely fluttered open.

“What's wrong with her?” I questioned.

“I believe the lady is going into labour” A priestess replied.

My eyes dropped to Aria, a chill swept over me.

I gathered her in my arms, lifting her easily. “Move!” I barked at the gathered crowd. “Start making preparations— NOW!”

Just like that, the Citadel erupted into chaos.
