His Unwanted Mate
His body pressed closer to mine. I was more aware of the lack of sufficient clothing items between us. I felt my body heating up. The tension between us was so thick that it nearly choked me.
Was he going to kiss me? Every part of me yearned for it. I took a bold move, placing my hand on his face again, this time moving even closer to him. Just then, something seemed to break loose within him.
His eyes turned golden again, a deep contrast to the moon outside. He growled, and in the low light, I saw his teeth be replaced by fangs.
I stood frozen, my eyes wide as I stared at his face transform into something almost beastly.
My heart skipped a beat, and time seemed to slow down. Kierian backed away abrubtly in an attempt to hide away what I had seen.
My heart didn't stop palpitating, but my curiosity had reached the roof. Despite myself, I walked up to him slowly as my lips parted.
"What are you?"

Chapter: Chapter 109Esme hadn't returned to the mansion after almost 2 weeks and at that point, everyone was worried. She was practically missing and none of the calls to her phone were going through. Mine and Kieran's mating ritual was happening soon too and it wasn't something that could be postponed. Everyone hoped that she would return before then. But there was no luck. It was the night of the ritual and Esme was still missing. "You look beautiful, Talia told me as she prepared me for the ceremony. I still didn't know exactly what was meant to happen. Esme was supposed to tell me and I never got the chance to ask Kieran. So I was basically going there with no clue of what was supposed to happen. "I'm so nervous" I admitted."Don't worry about it. I'm sure you'll do great.""Thanks Talia"She smiled at me before she led me outside the mansion where the ritual would happen under the light of the full moon. She escorted me like a brie going down the alter and like a groom, Kieran was waiting at the e

I'm right here with you. Nothing is going to happen." His voice was soothing, and he succeeded in calming me down."Come with me." Kieran led me back outside, and he notified the manager. Soon, the place was filled with cops. They questioned me, and I told them exactly what had happened. "Are you okay?" Kieran asked me while we waited for the cops to let everyone go."They threatened me, and then they used that poor man to send a message. What kind of people play with the lives of other people like that?" "Rouges can be quite brutish in their ways. They'll go to whatever lengths to prove a point. Whoever did that was here tonight, and they probably slipped out before we even saw the body" "That poor man did

Chapter: Chapter 107I was looking forward to mybdate with Kieran. I didn't do anything fancy, especially because I didn't have any nice dresses that could fit my baby bump. Talia managed to find me a cute summer dress that fit perfectly. and she helped me with my hair and a little bit of makeup."It seems Kieran is really putting in the extra effort," She said"Yeah." "I'm happy for you Eva, you deserve to be happy." I smiled at her through the mirror as she helped me detangle my hair. Kieran knocked on my door at exactly 7:40 pm."Are you ready?" "Yes, I am,""Shall we?" He offered me his arm to take, and I did so gladly. "Where are we going? I asked him as he held the car door open for me.""You'll see." I still hadn't seen most of Blackbourne since I mostly went from home to school and back, and the route the took was on the opposite side of the roads I was more familiar with. Wherever it was that we were going, I felt safe knowing that I was with Kieran. We ended up at a high-end restaurant ove

Chapter: 214 Book 2 TeaserThe room was pitch-black, thick with a silence that seemed to swallow every sound. Shadows clung to the corners like living things, stretching and twisting along the walls. Two figures moved with deliberate caution, their tall, muscular forms barely distinguishable in the gloom. Between them lay a body on a cold metal table, shrouded under a thin, almost mocking sheet. “This… this is insane,” the first man muttered, his voice low, sharp with unease. “What if you’re wrong? What if your… assumption is wrong?” The second figure didn’t flinch. He knelt beside the table, letting his hands hover just above the sheet. “I’ve never been wrong,” he said calmly, each word precise. “Patience was all I needed. And now… now the time has come.” The first man exhaled sharply, frustration and fear tangling in his tone. “I don’t know why I always get involved with people I shouldn’t,” he murmured, as if confessing a long-held weakness. The other man didn’t give a response. He had the same thought bu

Chapter: Chapter 213~ Mourning the FallenLucien’s POV The Citadel was quiet in a way that felt almost unnatural. The chaos of battle, the roar of the void, even the echoes of the last skirmishes—all of it seemed like a distant memory now. Yet, the absence of one presence made that silence unbearably loud. I returned with the twins, their small hands clinging to mine, their eyes wide with a mixture of relief and sorrow. They had survived, yes, but they carried the weight of everything that had happened, just as we all did. And at the center of it, Aria. When they spotted her, they ran forward, throwing themselves into her arms. She held them loosely at first, her body trembling, her face pale and hollow. Her eyes, once vibrant and full of life, were glassy, distant—staring at some place no one else could see. I could feel the fractures running deep inside her, the way each breath carried the memory of Ronan, of Enkia, of everything the Void had tried to take from her. I knelt beside her, my hands hovering, unsure whether t

Chapter: Chapter 212~ Sword of HellfireAria’s POV Ronan’s grip on my hand was firm as he led me through the twisting corridors of the Citadel archives. Dusty tomes and scrolls lined the walls, but I barely noticed, my mind was focused entirely on the imminent threat of Enkia. Ronan moved quickly despite his injuries. Behind us, the Citadel trembled again. Enkia was tearing through it piece by piece. “Ronan,” I said sharply, trying to keep pace with him. “What are we looking for?” “A weapon,” he replied, breath tight but determined. “One that was never meant to be used unless the Void itself broke through.” We reached the lowest vault—a chamber sealed with celestial runes. He pressed his palm against the inscription, muttering an incantation in a language older than this realm. The doors groaned open. Inside, resting atop a black stone altar, was a sword. It pulsed faintly, as if alive. The blade was dark metal veined with molten red light, heat shimmering subtly around it. Even from where I stood, I could feel it—a

Chapter: Chapter 211~ Death RebornConfusion swept through the chamber like a living thing. Ansel’s words lingered in the air—fragile, trembling, but certain. “I didn’t do that.” The murmurs grew louder. Council members exchanged sharp looks. Civilians shifted uneasily in their seats. I didn’t take my eyes off Ansel. I stepped closer. “Answer me again,” I said, my voice calm but firm. “Did you try to harm the twins?” Her breathing was uneven, but when she looked up at me, I saw it clearly. Not defiance. Not deception. Confusion. “No,” she whispered hoarsely. “I swear on my life. I would never hurt them. I loved them. I still do.” The words rang true. I felt it in my bones. Whatever darkness had twisted her before, this—this specific accusation—did not belong to her. A cold prickle ran down my spine. Then the ground shook. At first it was subtle—a tremor beneath our feet. Then it intensified, violent enough to rattle the stone walls of the council chamber. Gasps erupted around us. Dust drifted from the ceiling

Chapter: Chapter 210~ A fair JudgementRonan’s POV Pain. That was what dragged me back. A sharp, violent agony exploded in my chest, ripping the air from my lungs before I could even process what was happening. My eyes flew open, but my vision blurred, the ceiling above me tilting as if the world itself had shifted off its axis. Then I felt it. Steel. Buried deep inside me. Ansel stood over me, her hand wrapped tightly around the dagger’s hilt. The blade had just been driven through my chest. I could feel the cold metal lodged between my ribs, feel the warmth of my own blood soaking through my shirt. A groan tore from my throat. My fingers flew to the wound, grasping at the blade, at the source of the pain. Blood seeped between my fingers, thick and hot. Every heartbeat forced more of it out, steady and merciless. Ansel’s face hovered above me—but it didn’t look like the girl I knew. Her eyes were wild, unfocused, almost unrecognizable. “You did this!” she screamed, her voice trembling with rage and something dang

Chapter: Chapter 209~ Defying FateCael’s POV I read the message again in my mind long after the golden dust had vanished. Long after I’d left Aria with news of her life about to erupt into chaos again. The Veil was thinning And the fact that the letter had come from him directly didn’t give me any ease of mind. My brother had never reached beyond the Veil without reason. The Goddess’ firstborn did not interfere in mortal affairs unless the celestial order itself trembled. After the First War, when the Shadow Below had been sealed beneath layers of divine binding and blood-oaths, he withdrew into slumber to preserve his strength. If he was awake now— Then something had gone terribly wrong. And if he was awake and still unable to come himself— Then he was in trouble. The realization settled like iron in my lungs. This was not just about Aria. Not just about the Citadel. Not just about Ansel skulking through corridors with poison vials. This was larger. Older. Familiar. I had not stepped
