Chapter 16 - The kiss

River POV

I wake up and blink twice trying to figure out where I am. I’m not used to my new apartment yet. I get up and stretch. I don’t even like to admit this but I am missing Gabriel. He was making an effort to get to know me after I told him he only knew my circumstances and not me.

I walk into my tiny kitchen and make some coffee. I sit in the living room looking at the walls. When I finish my coffee o get up and put the cup in the kitchen. I get dressed and walk out. As I open the door I am greeted by Mrs Wells.

“Hello River”

“Hello Mrs wells, do you need a hand?” - I ask her. She’s in her eighties. She struggles to go up the stairs so I usually help her with her groceries when I see her.
