I turned slowly, my heart sinking as I saw Jake standing a few feet away. His expression was a mix of surprise and confusion, and for a moment, I couldn’t breathe.

“What are you doing here, Amelia?” Jake’s voice cut through the air, it sounded sharp and demanding.

I stopped mid-step, my breath catching as I turned to him. He stood a few feet away from me, his brows pulled together;was it anger, guilt? I wasn’t sure.

My hands tightened at my sides, nerves mixing with rising anger. How dare he act like he had the right to question me??

“I could ask you the same thing,” I shot back, my voice came out colder than I had expected. Folding my arms tightly across my chest, I willed myself to stay composed.

Jake took a step forward, his shoes crunching against the ground. “You should remember I have a tracker on your phone, you know, the one you suggested I'd get.” he said, his tone as though he didn't know about anything that was going on.

“I sighed. I should never have suggested that. That’s what blind love does. I never even asked him for his.

“A tracker?” Logan chuckled, mockingly.

“Jake, can you..”

“Amelia, I was dead worried about you!” he interrupted. “You weren’t answering my calls. I thought you might be in danger or something, what if….”

I scoffed, rolling my eyes. “You’re unbelievable. If you care so much, you should’ve started by being honest with me.”

Before he could respond, Logan stepped into view, his calm demeanor an obvious difference to Jake’s agitated one.

This man moved with so much ease that made Jake’s anger look childish. Confident, steady, unbothered and for some stupid reason, my heart skipped a beat just watching him.

Jake’s eyes darted to him, narrowing. “Who is he?” His voice dripped with suspicion and jealousy.

“I’m Logan.” Logan’s voice was steady, almost nonchalant, as he took a step closer. Extending his hand, he added, “Nice to meet you.”

Jake looked at the offered hand like it was poison. Instead of shaking it, he scanned Logan from head to toe, his lips curling in distaste.

“Amelia Comnels,” Jake said, turning his attention back to me, “Who would have thought you'd cheat on me?”

His words hit me like a slap to the face. For a moment, all I could do was stare at him, stunned by the sheer audacity of the accusation.

“How dare you, Jake?” I spat, my voice shaking with anger. “How dare you act like you didn’t cheat on me last night? and God knows how many times you have.”

His face paled, and he opened his mouth, but no words came out.

“Well?” I pressed, taking a step closer to him. “Nothing to say?”

“Who… who told you that?” he stammered, his voice barely above a whisper.

“So, you’re not denying it?” My voice cracked, and I felt the tears fighting to roll down my cheeks.

Jake hesitated, then let out a deep sigh, his shoulders slumping. “No Amelia, I'm not denying it,” he admitted, his tone low.

Behind me, Logan chuckled softly. “This is getting interesting,” he muttered, more to himself than anyone else.

That was it. I couldn’t hold back anymore. My hand shot out before I even realized what I was doing, and the sound of the slap echoed through the air. I slapped Jake's on the face.

“You bastard!” I hissed, my hands shaking with rage. “How could you? After everything I’ve done for you!” My tears were now coming out freely. I couldn't hold in the hurt I felt.

He winced, his hand flying to his cheek, but I didn’t care. I stepped closer, my fists pounding against his chest.

“You used me!” I shouted, my voice breaking. “You lied to me, Jake! I gave you everything! everything! And this is how you repay me? By sleeping with my bestfriend?”

“Amelia, stop!” Jake’s hands came up, trying to grab my wrists, but I jerked away.

“Don’t touch me!” I screamed, my voice dripping with anger.

Suddenly, strong arms wrapped around me from behind, pulling me away from him. “Amelia,” Logan’s voice was calm but firm, his breath warm against my ear. “That’s enough.”

I stopped struggling, my chest heaving as I cried against Logan's chest. Jake stood there, his face red and his hands clenched at his sides, but he didn’t say a word.

“You dare play the victim, Jake.” I said, my voice trembling with my barely contained tears. “You’re the one who betrayed me, Jake.”

“And you’re standing here with another man, sure” He shot back, his eyes narrowing as he adjusted his clothes.

Logan let out a low chuckle. “I’m right here, you know. Watch how you speak to her,” he said, his tone serious.

Jake stared at him. “Stay out of this.”

“Well, I’m not sure I can do that,” Logan replied, his grip on my arms loosening slightly. “Especially when you’re the one making baseless accusations.”

“Baseless?” Jake snapped, his voice rising. “You think I don’t see what’s going on here? You've fed her with rubbish lies. You’re trying to steal her from me.”

“Steal her?” Logan raised an eyebrow, his lips curling into a smirk. “You’ve already lost her. And just judging by that slap, you know it too.”

Jake turned his gaze back to me, his eyes pleading now. “Amelia, If you just let me–”

“You don’t get to explain!” I interrupted, my voice low because I couldn't shout any longer. “You cheated on me, Jake! Do you even realize how much I gave up for you? How much I trusted you? Do you know the things I did for you, Jake.”

He opened his mouth to speak, but before he could say anything, the sound of a car door opening caught our attention.

I turned my head, my heart sinking as I saw my bestfriend, Beth step out of Jake’s car. My stomach churned as she walked toward us, smiling sheepishly.

She had always had an air of confidence, something that brought us together as friends or so I thought.

Her face showed zero remorse. I knew a day when Beth might do something stupid to me would come, but not just in a way like this.

  • The Heiress And The Billionaire's Revenge    Chapter 066

Amelia's POV When I opened my eyes, sunlight filtered through the curtains. I blinked a few times, realizing I had fallen asleep after that talk with Logan.I checked the time and it was still afternoon. My head still felt heavy, but my heart… calmer. Maybe it was the talk we had that made me feel better.I sat up slowly, brushing my hair back. Logan’s house was quiet, except for the low hum of conversation coming from downstairs.I took a deep breath, stood up, and checked my reflection in the mirror. My face was pale but less tired. “You’re okay,” I whispered to myself, then turned to grab my purse from the bed.As I stepped out of the guest room, Logan’s voice reached me.“Hey, sleeping beauty’s awake,” he teased, leaning casually against the outside the door. His shirt sleeves were rolled up, and that playful smile of his curved at the corner.I sighed, “How long was I out?”“Just a couple of hours,” he said. “You obviously needed it.”“I did,” I admitted softly. For a moment, we

  • The Heiress And The Billionaire's Revenge    Chapter 065

Amelia’s POV The room was quiet, filled only with the faint hum of the air vent and the sound of running water coming from the bathroom. I walked into the bathroom and splashed cold water on my face, hoping it would cool the burning in my eyes and the tiredness that clung to my body. When the water trickled down my cheeks, I caught my reflection in the mirror. Lord I looked pale, with shadows under my eyes, and a dullness I hadn’t seen before. Paris had been… crazy, it drained me mentally. I was still trying to understand how I was standing here pretending to be fine. After using the bathroom, I washed my hands and dried them slowly, staring at the soft towel like I’d forgotten what normal felt like. I breathed out quietly before walking out.. I sat on the bed, ran my fingers through my hair, and picked up my phone. There was one person I had to call right now — my mom. She probably already knew I was back in LA, but hearing her voice always made something in me ease. I di

Amelia’s POV The soft bump of the plane’s wheels against the runway snapped me out of my thoughts. We were finally back in LA. And I was back to reality, back to the noise, the cameras, work and… every other thing I’d been trying not to think about since I was attacked. Through the small window, I could already see flashing lights in the distance, paparazzi waiting near the private jet terminal. My chest tightened instantly. I wasn’t ready. Not for the crowd or for the questions, because it made my mind go back to the incident. As the plane slowed down, I stared at my trembling hands. I tried to steady them, but they wouldn’t stop shaking. “You okay?” Logan’s voice came from beside me. I forced a nod. “Yeah, just… a little nervous.” He reached out and covered my hand with his. His warmth spread through my skin, grounding me a little. “I’m here,” he said softly. His tone carried the same mix of strength and gentleness that always made me feel safe. Before I could answer, Eri

Erica hadn’t said a single word to Logan since yesterday, not when we boarded, not when we sat down, not even a glance his way. She’d locked herself in her room at the back of the jet. Logan pretended not to care, but I could tell he did. He sat beside me now, head resting on my lap, one arm lazily hanging by his side. His eyes were closed, but I knew his mind wasn’t quiet. I brushed my fingers through his hair. “Aren’t you going to talk to your sister?” I asked softly. He opened one eye, sighed, then shut it again. “She obviously doesn’t wanna talk to me. So I’ll give her space.” “You sure that’s a good idea?” Logan tilted his head up slightly, his gaze meeting mine. There was a hint of tiredness in his eyes, something deeper than anger. “You can go try talk to her though.” “Me?” I blinked, pointing at myself. “Yeah.” He gave a half-smile. “You’re calm, patient… kind. And I’m—” “Hot-headed?” I finished for him, teasing lightly. He chuckled. “Exactly. If I go in there, we’ll

Logan’s POVI followed them through, my heart pounding harder with every step.Chris’s hand was on her back, leading her out like she belonged to him. The event wasn’t even over and this guy thought he could sneak away with my sister? Not happening.I caught up just in time to hear him say softly, “Don’t worry about him, babe. He’ll calm down. You deserve to live a little.”Babe.That word snapped something inside me.“Erica,” I barked, my voice echoing through the hall. She froze. Chris turned, that smug smile still plastered on his face.“What now, Logan?” he said casually, his tone too calm for someone who just got caught.“What now?” I repeated, stepping closer. “You think you can walk out with my sister like that? The party’s not even over.”“She wanted to leave,” he said, shrugging. “I’m not forcing her.”I turned to Erica. “Is that true?”Her eyes flickered between us — guilt, fear, confusion. “I just wanted to get some air,” she muttered.“Air?” I snapped. “You can breathe al

  • The Heiress And The Billionaire's Revenge    Chapter 061

Logan’s POVAt first, I thought my eyes were deceiving me.From across the room, under the dim gold lights, I saw her, the girl standing beside Chris. The same long chestnut hair, the small scar above her brow she got when she fell off her bike years ago. For a moment, my mind froze.No. It can’t be.Maybe it was someone who just looked like her. Someone with the same eyes, the same smile. But when I blinked again, the truth hit me like a punch.Chris leaned toward her and kissed her hand.My stomach turned. Every sound in here suddenly faded into a dull ringing in my ears. I felt heat rise up my neck as I watched his hand linger on hers. And that’s when I knew.It was her.It was Erica. My little sister.“What the hell…” I whispered under my breath, trying to process it. What is she doing here? And him why the hell is he with her? Before I even realized it, my legs were already moving. I didn’t care about the people staring. I didn’t care that it was the closing night of the retreat
