Luca’s POV

I loathed the rest of the Hartford’s.

And accepting an arranged marriage from someone who could get me close enough to crush them was exactly why I was here.

“Well then, I'll leave you guys to it" Elias Voss left the room quietly, the door clicking shut behind him.

I had expected the only heir to the Voss empire who just got divorced to be a woman of sophisticated features.

Dyed blonde hair, extreme unnatural curvy body, casually wearing a Dior outfit even on a random day or walking around with heels on.

The embodiment of a woman who had been married into the Hartford family, who had lived there for three years.

But the woman in front of me was the complete opposite, her silk dark hair cascaded down her shoulders, her almond eyes rested on mine, she had such bright skin and was built in a simple gown, pushing not more than twenty five years old.

I could still feel her delicate hand against mine from the hand shake and the cold shill running up my spine from her calm presence….

Fuck.

Focus Luca.

I signalled my men to leave with only the flick of my finger and the minute they were all out, leaving both of us in the living room.

I cleared my throat after a moment of silence between us.

“You're not at all how I expected the successor to Elias Voss to be."

Her gaze shifted immediately, though still keeping her controlled expression.

" That's an interesting thing to say to a woman you were arranged to marry.”

My eyes held hers.

“I’m not trying to be interesting."

I noticed a faint twitch across her expression. Almost an annoyance.

But then she suddenly slipped her coat off slowly and placed it over the chair, exposing her arms.

Her fair slender arms.

“And what exactly is Elias Voss’s daughter supposed to look like?”

My strict gaze moved over her just once, elegant gown, steady chin with a defensive posture.

“Colder.. in a way where her first marriage should have been more…. beneficiary.”

She didn't hide the irritation on her face and the way her jaw suddenly clenched.

“Tskk, all this talk about power and benefits” She tilted her head. “You’ve spent too much time with my father, haven't you?…. Are you that desperate to please him?”

I looked away, using my tongue to flick the side of my teeth before I narrowed back my gaze to her

“You think I'm one of those spineless men fighting for your hand in marriage?”

She let out a breath, blankly staring at me..

“You'd have to do better than that" I finished.

And that earned me another look where she rolled her eyes.

Cute and awfully predictable.

“You know, you sound exhausting to be around, Mr Luca."

I found myself smiling.

“You say it like you plan to spend enough time with me to suffer from it."

She got the joke and immediately a frown plastered on her face immediately.

"If this is my father's wish, I plan to make it work, Mr Luca.”

And in her tone I could hear how determined she was to move on from whatever the Hartford’s did to her.

My expression softened because for a second I understood exactly how a woman like her ended up trapped inside a marriage, trying to earn affection from an inadequate man.

“Since we're being clear," I said, reaching for a document beside me, “let's make my personal terms known"

Her attention turned to me, though I didn't hand over the file.

“When you move in with me, you'll have your own wing”

She blinked, and that adorable clueless expression. " A wing?”

" Yes.”

She opened her mouth to speak but I interrupted calmly.

“No shared space unless you choose it. No expectations of… performance.” His gaze held mine, unflinching. "You won't be required to do anything you don't want to do.”

She searched my face closely, like she was looking for a catch.

"And what do you get?” she asked finally

"Loyalty.” I replied.

She crossed her arms as something flickered in her eye, I could hear her scoff afterwards like it was merely a joke.

"That's it?”

“We're you expecting anything else?"

“You’re offering me freedom… inside a contract.”

“I’m offering you control over your space,” I corrected.

“Within yours.”

My gaze didn’t shift as I replied “Yes.” Extending the document.

She reached for it, her fingers brushed mine briefly.

Warm.

I watched her unfold the papers lazily at first until her expression shifted.

Recognition settled immediately across her face.

“I don’t understand…” Her eyes lifted sharply to mine. “Why does this have your name on it?”

“I bought their shares.”

“You bought Nathaniel’s company?”

“A bigger part of it.”

Shock flashed across her features before she controlled it.

“Why?” she asked.

I could almost yawn.

“Because I’m a businessman,” I answered calmly. “And I don’t ignore profitable opportunities.”

That wasn’t the full truth but it was true enough for tonight.

For a brief moment she went quiet, before letting out a sigh.

“Do they know?” she asked slowly. “Who are you to me?”

I slipped both hands into my pockets.

“How about we both surprise them tomorrow" I offered.

She paused, her brow arching like she was a tad confused on what I just said before edging her first smile which wasn't so bad.

“You want me to join you to take over my ex husband's company?”

I shrugged lazily as I pulled out a ring from my pocket.

I took two long strides closer and placed the object on the side table beside where she stood.

“if you're up for it.” I said.

I watched her study the ring like it was unlike anything she had ever seen, which was valid since it was a family heirloom.

She reached for it, letting her fingers feel before pushing it into the fourth finger on her left hand.

“Hell yeah I am.”

And let the games begin.

Camilla's POV “I'm Camilla," I nervously said. "Camilla Milano.” "Hmm” he smiled. "I think you know how many bells your name rings.” I couldn't help but smile. "I'm oblivious to how famous I fear I am.” "Hmm” he cocked his head. "Now you know…" then I watched him look around. “So can I steal you away from all these…. Noise.” It was rare to have someone inside these four walls that looked like business say it all these were all noise. Someone was finally reading my mind. I met his captivating green eyes and it was almost as if saying ‘no’ was like stabbing a lost puppy to death and I couldn't do that. I gave him a nod and moved away from the crowded center of the ballroom then settled near one of the tall windows overlooking the gardens. The waiting waitress walked past us and Cole smoothly reached for two glasses of champagne, he passed one over to me and I took it with a small smile.“So your father still has interests in tech products?" He asked. Straight to buisness…. I a

Camilla's POVThe text read. I had never felt excited about a party before but I was about this one. Why? Because the man I'm fucking is going to be with me. Who knows where else we'll be taking an adventure to this night. The bathroom, the hallways…Get it together Camilla, you're a grown ass woman with a plain white reputation and the last thing it needs was a stain on it. Was I a nympho now?Was this what it feels like for women to only be with me for their body? Pffttt, I was married to this man. So I'd feel less guilty about using him. Or was he using me? Arrghhh, I need to stop overthinking stuff. I was already in the car hoping he'd be by the door to the event hall waiting for me but then as the car stopped, there was no one. He's your bad boy Camilla, not your gentleman.“Did Mr Milano say where he'll be?" I asked the driver. “He didn't communicate through me, ma'am." I stepped out of the car, my Cameron Diaz heels, stroking out before my sapphire dress adorne

Camilla's POV She rose up immediately from where she sat, her belle bump had Increased by an inch and she looked dolled up. Eyes shadows and almost blended foundation. Her eyes scanned me from head to toe before clearing her throat. “I'm hoping to speak to the person who runs this place," she said. I could almost scoff at the face she was making and the tone she used. " You know, you've always been bad at being sarcastic… your lines never just. Click.” The polite smile she held stiffened slightly. "Too bad I wasn't here to speak to you about sarcasm." My fingers tapped the side of my arm. I could snap my fingers and she'll be out of her and I could also gesture my fingers and she'll be in my office. I chose the second option because as far as stealing my ex husband went, she hadn't spoken to me ever since. A few minutes later, she sat at the other side of my table, legs crossed and her face neutral. " It's funny how you fooled everyone.” She said, "I don't know ho

Camilla's POV My bed was too big for just one person but Luca's bed was enormous. His faint scent of his cologne clung to the pillows and the second I turned and inhaled it. My eyes fluttered open and I stirred, my body still humming from the night before.I stretched languidly, a small smile playing on my lips as memories immediately flooded back. His hands, his warm mouth and the way he'd claimed every inch of me. It made me blush. Sex with Nathaniel was only ever plain as Jane and never as intense as what I felt yesterday. Naked and unashamed, I slipped out of bed, grabbing his discarded white shirt from the floor and buttoning it just enough to cover the essentials. The hem brushed my thighs as she padded barefoot down the grand staircase. The smell of fresh coffee and warm pastries greeted me before I even reached the dining room where I could tell Luca was. Seated at the head of the long mahogany table. His phone in one hand and a cup of espresso in the other. He looked e

  • The Heiress He Lost, The Woman His Uncle Claimed    Chapter twenty Two: intoxicated

Camilla's POV I was definitely not drunk when I said what I said and he was definitely not drunk also as he crossed the threshold first. The air between us thickened with every inch he closed and my breath caught as his gaze locked on mine. His dark and hungry gaze. I could feel the heat radiating from my body as he reached me, one hand sliding to the small of my back and the other tangling in my hair. He pulled me closer and our lips crashed together in a fierce kiss that stole the air from my lungs. His mouth claimed mine and his tongue swept in with a kind of possessiveness that made my knees give way and a low moan escaped my throat. My fingers curled into his shirt, desperate for more, but he broke the kiss just enough to lift me. His strong arms hook under my thighs, spreading my legs apart as he found the nearest wall and pressed my back against it. I reached for him again while his touch sent heat waves to my body, my hands fumbling towards his belt because I needed t

  • The Heiress He Lost, The Woman His Uncle Claimed    Chapter Twenty: Make her cum

Luca's POV Camilla in my words was simply a calm yet untamed force of nature. I had been with needy women, naive women, seductive women, capable women and each of them had one thing in common. They wanted me first. The lust was evident. But Camilla, I could explain hers as ‘need’. Avoiding her might just be the most childish act I have ever done in all my adult years of living. I convinced myself that I had a good reason and that she was drunk and wouldn't remember anything unlike me that lived and now breathed last night. Thoughts of her gasps for air made my pants rigid, the feeling of her skin and the warmth of her insides. The way her walls clamped around me like they never wanted me to let go. Her boobs… Fuck. I combed my fingers through my hair and sighed evenly. I was lusting over my wife. My wife meant for the convenience of our businesses. I went over towards the balcony of my wing after I called in the maids to clear up the broken vase up in my room
