Thomas being unsettled had left the hospital for his house. Audrey, on the other hand, began to fear what Thomas could do, given how angry he seemed. She called for the doctor and pleaded she needed to leave the hospital. “Thomas will be angry and moreover, you're not fit to go,” Dr. Ivy said with concern. A tired breath escaped her lips. “I’ll be back soon, doctor. I need to see someone important before Thomas comes back to the hospital.” Dr. Ivy hesitated, but Audrey's teary eyes got to him. He risked Thomas' wrath and let Audrey go. “Should my driver take you?” Dr. Ivy asked, noticing how weakly she moved. “No, thank you,” Audrey replied with a smile. She patted her purse. “I have some money with me. I’ll take a cab.” She said and limped out of the hospital. She hailed down a cab and handed the driver the paper she had written the address on. She then settled into the back seat, her tired eyes closing. At Barrister Ethan's law firm, she was greeted by the receptionist who

A text message from an unknown number flashed on the screen. The message read - “Thomas Whiteson, you held one of our sisters in your house without the family approval. Now you sent the police to arrest our second sister with false allegations. You're a public figure and your father would be disappointed if you tarnished the name. This isn't an empty threat: release Sophia or you face the media scrutiny for kidnapping Audrey.” Thomas let out a cold laugh. The threats were just mere words...he wasn't moved. But Audrey...he doubted if she would be pleased with him if she heard. He exhaled, his fingers running through his hair. ‘Damn i

The steel framed glass door slammed against the wall as Thomas stormed in. The sound snapped Sharon up from the sofa.“Where is Audrey?” His voice echoed through the room. Sharon couldn't speak, her hand just pointed outside the house.“Didn't I tell you to call me the moment she tries to leave this house,” Thomas yelled. Sharon's fingers trembled, twisting the hem of her shirt as fear washed over her. Her eyes were fixed to the floor, scared to meet her boss's face. After the meeting with the Whitesons, Audrey became more uncomfortable with Thomas. The family accepted her as their daughter-in-law without questioning, already planning their wedding. Audrey felt something wasn't right about it, but couldn't place it. Thomas saw her discomfort when he dropped her off, and had commanded Sharon and the security to alert him if she tried leaving the house. But somehow, Audrey left the house without their knowledge. That afternoon, Thomas had got a call from his family doctor that Aud

Mr. Justin Erickson's laughter was a low, dangerous one. “My son is in love with the fake heiress?” His tone dripped with anger. Lucas’ feet trembled, his hands clasped behind him. “But Dad, Sophia is much loved by the Sterlings than Audrey…….”“You're such a fool,” Mr. Justin barked at him, his face darkening. He slammed his fist on the table, making Lucas flinch. “Who is the Heiress between the two?” Lucas hesitated, taking a step back. “Audrey Sterling,” his voice was barely above a whisper. “Son, we need Audrey,” he growled. “Her 40% share in her grandfather's company is our only ticket to crushing the Whitesons.” Lucas let out a slow breath before replying to his father, “But Dad, Thomas Whiteson has Audrey already.” Mr. Justin’s eyes snapped wide, “What do you mean?”“He paid the Sterling Brothers the 20 million dollars. He's marrying Audrey,” Lucas explained, his words heightening his father's panic. Mr. Justin's pulse raced. He hadn't anticipated that. The $20 million

“Audrey, Audrey,” Thomas shook her gently, his fingers trembling slightly on her shoulder. Slowly, Audrey's eyelids lifted, and she met Thomas' nervous gaze. Sophia, Lucas and her brothers huddled in the corner, watching with fear written on their faces. She felt relieved as she realized Mr. Leo was gone. “Help her up,” Thomas commanded his bodyguard, his tone stern. The bodyguard quickly stepped closer, gently pulling Audrey to her feet. Without a word, Thomas turned and walked away from the scene. “We need to follow him, ma'am,” The bodyguard whispered to Audrey, who knew better than to question him.The five remained frozen to the spot, their eyes fixed on Audrey's back as she walked away. They saw the affection in Thomas' eyes when Audrey fainted and it made them question if the two were in love.‘Even if these men won't do anything, I will. Audrey must marry Lucas and not Thomas,’ Sophia's heart pounded with thoughts as she glanced at her confused brothers. “You guys just
