I had been sitting on the kitchen counter for the past two hours, and I could feel every second of it in my legs. Uncrossing them, I jumped down. Sitting there wasn’t going to get me any answers. It wasn’t going to tell me who killed Mrs. Anderson or why. I didn’t want to overthink it or turn it into something it wasn’t. If those people had actually found me, my grandparents would’ve told Mom and Dad. Right? I was just about to call them when the front door opened, and my parents walked inside. They both went upstairs first, and a few minutes later, Mom came back down and entered the kitchen. “Hey, sweetie. How was school?” she asked, kissing my forehead. “It was eventful. Did you guys hear about Mrs. Anderson?” I asked them. “Of course we did. The whole town is buzzing about the news,” Dad said as he came into the kitchen and took a seat beside me. “Oh, sweetie.” Mom studied my face. “I can see the wheels turning in your head. Talk to us. What are you thinking about?” I shook my head. “I don’t know. It might be something, or it might be nothing.” I bit my lip, still thinking about the crazy possibility that had been bothering me since school. “Do you think those people found me?” “Ah, that’s the million-dollar question, isn’t it?” my dad said with a shake of his head. My question left them both lost in thought. “Wouldn’t the old man tell us?” Mom asked. Dad slapped his hand against the counter. “I’m sure he will. Let’s give it some time.” The three of us fell silent until Dad suddenly straightened. “Right! Your birthday is coming up. What’s the plan?” “No big plans. I might hang out with Amber like usual.” I hesitated. “I’m thinking about telling her the truth about me.” “Oh, honey. You’re going to be eighteen, and this is your last year of high school. You need to enjoy yourself.” Mom paused. “Do you think she’ll believe you?” She and Dad shared a strange look. I raised an eyebrow. What was that about? “So? I don’t really care about doing anything big, Mom. It’s just a birthday and nothing more. I already have my wolf, and my powers have gotten stronger, so there’s really nothing huge to celebrate.” The only thing that mattered was whether Amber would believe me. Whether she would trust me. “I don’t know if she will,” I admitted. “All I can do is wait and see.” I wanted Amber to know the truth. When I first met her, she lived with her parents, and everything seemed perfectly normal. But during our sophomore year, she woke up one morning and found the house empty. Her parents were gone; they had disappeared, leaving her behind. Even now, nobody knew what happened to them or where they went. I didn’t want to do the same thing to her. When it was time for me to leave, I wanted to bring Amber with me. I knew everything would become crazy once she learned the truth about who and what I really was. I just hoped my best friend would understand. Later, I decided to do some homework. When I pulled my phone out of my pocket, I saw Amber had texted me about a dozen times. What the hell was this girl blowing up my phone for now? The first few messages asked what I wanted to do for my birthday. The next wave informed me that Carter, the guy she had a massive crush on, was throwing a party that night and that we needed to go because I would officially be eighteen. The final messages weren’t even questions. Amber had decided we were going to the party, and apparently, I wasn’t allowed to say no. How the hell was I supposed to leave this bossy girl behind? Groaning, I tossed my phone onto the bed and followed right behind it, pulling the covers over my head without answering my crazy best friend. She was probably the only person who could convince me to go out. And maybe going out wouldn’t be such a bad idea. My parents had already asked what I wanted to do for my birthday, and I didn’t want to spend the entire day sitting around overthinking things I couldn’t control. Because, knowing me, that was exactly what I would do. Right before sleep took over, I made my decision: I might as well go out and have some fun. The next morning, I woke up to Mom shaking me while Dad stood nearby singing “Happy Birthday” with a cake in his hands. I groaned and buried my face deeper into my pillow. “Isn’t it a little too early for you guys to be this happy?” I swear I had just closed my eyes, and now sunlight was pouring through my bedroom window. “Oh, no, it’s not early, birthday girl,” Mom said. “It’s already noon, and I bet Amber is on her way here.” That was all she had to say. I flew out of bed and ran toward the bathroom. After taking a quick shower and getting dressed, I went downstairs for my birthday breakfast. Yes, it was noon, and yes, I was still eating pancakes. Pancakes could be eaten at any time of day as far as I was concerned. I was on my third bite when the front door opened and Amber came through it like the tornado she was. “WHERE IS THE BIRTHDAY GIRL?!” I stared at her. “I don’t know how or where you get all this energy from, but as my birthday gift, can we turn it down?” Not that I believed she actually could. I just loved messing with her. Amber pouted as she sat beside me. “You’re so mean.” Laughing, I shoved a piece of pancake into her mouth. “What’s on the agenda today?” Her entire face lit up. “Oh my gosh! I’m so glad you asked because I have a lot planned for us today. First, we’re going shopping for tonight’s party. Then we’re getting mani-pedis, then your eyebrows, and then—” “Girl!” I grabbed her hand. “Take a breath. Let’s start with shopping, all right?” Before she could add anything else to her ridiculously long list, I dragged her out of the house and toward her car. Whoever said spending your birthday with a hyper best friend was a good idea was a damn liar. From the moment Amber got me into that mall, she dragged me through store after store, determined to find the perfect outfit for the party. By the time we finally found something, I didn’t even want to go anymore. My bones felt broken. All I wanted to do was crawl into bed and never get back up. Unfortunately, Amber had other plans. There was no time to rest once we got back to my house. We went straight upstairs to shower and get ready while my parents stayed downstairs watching TV, waiting to see what Amber had talked me into wearing. We were coming down the stairs when a scream ripped through the house. I froze. It was Mom. Amber and I rushed downstairs. We reached the bottom just in time to see my father fly through the air and slam against the wall. My heart stopped. “Girls, get out of here!” Dad yelled from the floor. We didn’t even have time to react; two masked men rushed toward us. One came for me; the other went after Amber. Everything happened at once. I fought back on instinct. Then my wolf’s voice sounded in my head. “They are not human.” My blood ran cold; no, my worst nightmare had finally come true. They found me, and if they had, then hiding was over. It was time for me to leave, time to go back and claim what was mine. Two other men suddenly appeared, both dressed in red, and attacked the masked men who had come for us. I stared at the chaos unfolding in my own home. Seriously? What a fucking birthday.Amaka i have always wanted to be part of big family now that I have my own I'm happy to see everyone around me happy and safe, it something that I didn't think would happened being that I was sent away after my parents death I was a bit content with that but I was still wanted to know what had happened to my parents. After all the trial and error, we finally got justice for them, and now I can see my own children with their own family, the one that I was worried about was Celia because that girl was all about her office and the pack business, not going out with friends or taking a break. I was so happy when she came home one day and told Winston and me that she had found her mate, but I didn't understand. She didn't think that he would accept her because he was none other than Roman from the Blue Pack. Weeks later, Winston got a call from him asking if he had our permission to come and be with his mate.Hell no, we're not going to stand in his way, especially knowing that my daughte
Roman One Week Later I woke up from my coma a few days ago to see that I was back home. My parents looked more stressed than I have ever seen them before. As soon as I was up, I tried to make it seem like I was okay. Nothing hurt, so they could stop hovering over me, once the Doctor explained to me that the reason I was in a coma was because the bullet was silver and had some poison on it that my healing powers couldn't work fast enough. Now that am feeling better. I have been trying to get my stuff in order before I could go back to the Ravens' pack and have a talk with Celia. I could swear that I heard her talking to me while I was over there. I can't be sure it's not my imagination or my hopes that she would come around and accept me as her mate." What are you willing to give up for her?" My wolf asks." Leaving my pack, my family, that's for one." Sometimes, I feel like they paired us together just so he could make my life a living hell."Do you think that will be enough for
CeliaI was pacing back and forth in front of the clinic, waiting for the Doc to come out and explain if he was okay or not. How could he do something so stupid, taking a bullet for me? At the same time, his hands were injured, making me more confused than ever. I rubbed my eyes; they've been bothering me since we bought him here, and the doctor hasn't come out to give us any explanation about his condition. I know by now his probraly hated here not only that I their daughter got kidnapped two after coming here but the same people hurt their son, I wouldn't blame them for not speaking to us or breaking the contract we hurt the family enough, more to say me, since all of this happened because of me."Stop beating yourself over things you can't control. The only person who's responsible for what happened is those lone wolves." My wolf was trying to make me feel better, but nothing anyone said could make me feel better right now.Seating down on the only chair that was in the hallway I
Roman Once she left my bed I couldn't do anything else but work out, I watched as she try to a hold of frustration like a creep, and im not even sorry about it because I can see that she was feeling something for me and trying not to and she make my decision much easier. I went to find my dad so we could talk and maybe find a way to make my decision a bit easier, “What's on your mind?” my father asked once I walked in the room, guess I wasn't hiding my feeling as much as I thought I was. “ Think I found my mate but she doesn't known it and now she is ignoring me, what do I do?” I say in one breath, looking at me I put his teacup down and stared me down hoping for more but I got nothing else. “ Okay, son, what exactly do you want from me?” raising a brow at me. “ Well she's the Alpha of this pack and she thinks that im going back home and honestly I don't know what else is going on in her brain” into him because I needed to understand how to handle her or approach her.
Celia When we got back to the house after Rescuing Elaine, I went straight to my room to grab a shower for some reason my heart was feeling heavier than usual, why couldn't my one-night stand stay a one night. Only me will bring that kind of trouble to myself, why is that one making me lose my mind is it because he was my first and I just got stuck on him or something. I couldn't think of anything else that would make me feel those types of feelings, maybe he was my mate? I find myself saying “Ah, wouldn't that be nice, end having your first time with your mate” Wouldn't that be nice? I say sarcastically. That would never happen especially not with someone like me, most people that my parents try to set me with, either don't like that im an Alpha or am a woman who happens to be an Alpha. I gave up a long ago on love now Roman is putting hope where there's no hope. Went to sleep that night with so much in my head that I was still trying to figure it out. I've been trying to fal
Roman Four hours later we were pulling into the parking lot of a motel that was across the street from where we believed that they were holding Elaine, wish we could just go in there and grab her but it was not possible because we didn't have a layout for the place, we don't know how many wolves that are in there. The amount of things that we don't know keep getting longer and longer, one thing I knew for sure is that we are not leaving here without my sister. The door opened then walks in the pretty brunette, I had to hustle with her down at front desk in order for her to accept that we could share a room, even a bed, not like we hadn't done that before. “ welcome, Sweetheart “ I say jokingly, knowing that she don't like it. I mean she pretends not to like it I can see that she was trying not to smile that pretty smile of hers, that's doing something to me. “ Maybe I can help with that “ My wolf Hugo says out of nowhere. “ And how are you going to do that” I ask him sarc
Celia Everyone was living their life and being happy while im sitting here stressing myself over two kids who can't decide whether or not they should have two parties or not since they can't decide on whose theme to use, like why does that have to do with me? “ Look like you could use a drink?
Roman With my eyes closed I feel on the side of the bed for my bed companion but I come up empty, smiling to myself I think “Of course, she left” I knew she wasn't going to stay for breakfast, her eyes gave her away I didn't have an issue with it since my sister was pushing me to go have fun.
Celia Only I would suffer such misfortune I have never heard of anyone having a nightstand that happened to follow them home, not only follow me home but now I have to help rescue his sister from some unknown kidnapper, only me that this would happen to when I decide to let loose and have some f
Aisha I'm mad that our two-week honeymoon was ruined by whoever decided to blow up our car, I knew we still had to deal with those Alphas but I didn't expect that they would go as far as blowing up our car in the hope that we would die.
