That afternoon when I got to the packhouse with a big smile on my face, I didn't think anything could wipe that smile off but I was wrong. I mean it was just a couple of months ago that I had just got back from the Alpha training school and now they want me to take some classes so I could graduate and so on, but that's not an issue for me because I've always loved to learn regardless of how I appear.

It wasn't a surprise for me when I was called into the main office because that's where the current Alpha always had his meetings. When I walked inside and saw the look on his face I knew things were going to be bad but I didn't know they were going to be this bad.

Making my way to the office I found Grandad sitting behind his desk lost in thought, it got me thinking that whatever he was about to talk to me was big “ Hello, old man” I said to him as soon as I took the seat in front of him.

“ Son you finally show up,” He said “ Keeping me waiting you better have been doing something important”

With a grimace on my face, I say “ I don't think you want to know where I was” Honestly where I was is a place I've liked to keep to myself cause it's not something that I'm proud of.

Seeing right through the words “ You were with that girl again weren't you?” He didn't give me a response, so he took my silence as a yes. “ Son, I know you're grown and don't want me in your business, all I'm saying is cut ties with this girl and make it clear before it becomes a problem.”

I know what he means, cut ties for when I found my mate, and it doesn't become a problem for her but at this point in my life I gave up on finding my mate at the age of sixteen when I got my wolf I was so excited to find my mate but after three years, I gave up the idea of having me and I accept it that's why I have this stupid relationship with that girl. “ I know soon, soon “ changing the subject “ So what is it you call me here for old man?”

He gave me one last look before saying “ You remember my granddaughter?”

“Of course” I answer because not many people know about her and since my brothers and I were going to live in the packhouse, he had to tell us about what happened to the previous Alpha and Luna. “ Did something happen?” and he would only bring her up if something was wrong with her.

“ No, but I fear that someone has found her” his words got the hair on my back sending because no one was supposed to know where she was for her safety.

“ What makes you think that?” I know he wouldn't make a statement like that if he didn't have proof. Pulling a yellow envelope there were a bunch of pictures of two girls laughing in front of a big building that I'm assuming was a school. “ Do they know which one is she?” I don't even know who she is.

Shaking his head “No that's why they've been sending me pictures of both of them for the past two months”

“ Two months Granddad and you now telling me about it?” This is an important matter I thought he would take seriously.

“ That's because I assume they were going to either give up but it seems they are determined to find her and I think they are close because her adoptive dad called and told me he thinks someone is following him,” He says.

“ What do you need from me? “ I asked 'cause I knew he was not just telling me that just for the fun of it.

“ I need to put someone on both of them, without them knowing,” He says.

“ I'll get someone on it by tomorrow” I know who exactly I'm going to put on this task. “ Do you need me to have Wyatt find out where that picture comes from?” If there's one thing that a boy can do he can find anything on a computer because he is always on that thing.

“ You think that he would be able to find who actually sent those?” he pointed at the picture on the desk.

“ He can try but I'm not making any promises” I let him know.

“That's better than nothing.”

“All right I'll get right on to it, “ I say before leaving the office, I make my way straight to Wyatt’s room, I knock but I didn't wait for an answer because I know there's a good chance he might have that damn headphone on. Walking into the room I went into the little room where I assumed he would be and there he was playing games on that computer with his headphones on, pulling them off his head I said “ I need your help” When that didn't move him I go “ Grandad needs your help” that got his attention, closing his laptop we went in the other room.

“ What is this about?.” He asks. So I told him about the granddaughter's story leaving our parent's part out, that's a story for another time.

“ This granddaughter, will she be coming here?” He asks if I can see the puzzle going through his mind.

“ I guess if her safety is compromised then yes, she will be coming here,” I told him.

“ those that mean you won't be the Alpha?” I know he is worried about his place in the pack being that we are adopted and all but I'm not ready to go down that road yet.

“ I don't know,” placing the picture on the desk I said “Get the information and please keep this to yourself,” I told him because he knew how important this situation was. Leaving his room I went to get my two trusted guards on to the assignment of being the girl's bodyguard without knowing, well I was hoping that the granddaughter’s wolf was not awake so they wouldn't sense someone following them.

Walking back to my room my head felt heavy because I had a lot on my mind, thinking about what does that mean? For me and my brothers when the real Alpha comes home. Do we still have a place in the pack? Or are we going to be sent away?

“ You need to stop overthinking and wait to see what will happen when she gets here,” My wolf says.

“ Why are you so calm about this whole situation?” I asked him because he would have driven me nuts about it but now he is a bit too calm for me. “ Do you know something?”

“ Like I say just wait and see “ was the last thing he said before shutting me out.

Grabbing my whiskey I poured myself a glass and sat by the window enjoying the lovely breeze that was coming into the room, it calmed me down a little but it didn't mean that I was not thinking about how everything would change once she got here. I'm hoping it works in my favor to finally find out the truth about that night.
