Chapter 14

Author's POV

After two month

At office

Amelia was cursing her devil boss and working on a file which was not needed. Yeah, the file is two years back. But he gave her this and told her to work on this file just because she talked with Joe. 

Amelia looked at the wall clock. The devil gave her one hour to complete it. Now just ten minutes are left. Amelia started checking the file quickly when her phone started ringing. 

Amelia looked down at her phone and saw her mom was calling her. 

Amelia picked up the call and put the phone on the loudspeaker. 

"Yes, mom," Amelia said. 

"Baby, are you busy?" Jenny asked her daughter. 

"Busy! He making me work like a bull" Amelia muttered to herself. 

"Amelia, are you there?" Jenny asked again when she did not get any response. 

"Yes, mom. I am here. Say" Amelia said. 

"Baby, we have got a very good proposal for you," Jenny said to her being happy. 

"Proposal! Did you mean marriage proposal mom?" Amelia asked her. 

"Yes. We want you to meet him. He is a good man. As tomorrow, is your off day we want to go on a date with him" Jenny said making Amelia shocked. 

"What? Mom are you serious? Mom, I will not go on a blind date" Amelia said. 

"He is a good man baby. He does a nice job. You will be happy with him. We are not forcing you to marry him now. But just meet him. If you do not like him then we will cancel it" Jenny said. 

Amelia thought a while. Suddenly, Ace's face came in front of her. Although he always made her work so much but she always feels safe when he was around. In the office, he sees her as his PA but in front of his business partners, he behaved like the best boyfriend. 

Amelia understood her feelings when his one business partner, tried to miss behave with her and Ace saved her. Not only he saved her but also broke the deal with him, although his company went through a loss. 

Seeing his protective side towards her, Amelia felt something for the first time. When the difference between them came into her mind she tried to stop thinking about him but her heart fall for her boss. But she knows he will never accept her feelings. After all, she is his PA only. 

"Amelia, if you do not want then I will say no to him baby. Do not worry" Amelia heard her mother's sad tone. 

"You can not hurt your parents because of your one-sided love" Her brian spoke up. 

"No mom. I will meet him tomorrow" Amelia said and felt a slight pain in her heart. 

"Really! You made me happy baby. I will tell you to call you then you two can fix the time" Jenny said and disconnected the call. 

Amelia looked at her phone and sighed when she felt someone was watching her. 

Amelia looked up and saw Ace was standing near her door. His eyes were cold. His facial expression was unreadable. 

Amelia stood up from her chair. 

"Sir, do you need something?" Amelia asked him. 

Ace kept looking at her. Amelia felt nervous under his graze. She looked down being nervous and started playing with her fingers. 

"You do not need to work on the file. Work on the recent file" Ace said in a cold tone then left her cabin closing the door with a loud sound. 

Amelia jumped on her place hearing the sudden sound. 

She looked at her door. 

"Why he was mad?" 

"Did he hear the conversation?" 

"But he won't suppose to mad hearing it. I am just his fake girlfriend. Isn't it?" Amelia said and sat down on her chair. 

She tried to focus on her work but Ace's hard face kept coming in front of her. 

"I think, I should check him. But if he asks why I am here? What should I tell him?" Amelia asked herself

Coffee. Yes, black coffee. 

"Let's make his black coffee"Amelia muttered then left her cabin. 

And on the other side

Ace entered his cabin like an angry lion. His blood was boiling in anger even to think that she will go on a date with the so-called nice man. 

Yes. He heard the conversation. He went to remind her about the one hour but he heard her talking with her mom. 

Ace did not want to disturb her so he didn't make any noise. He thought when she will be done he will talk with her. 

But hearing their conversation, Ace felt like to kill that man. He felt like to cage Amelia in his arms never letting her go. When Amelia asked for his visit reason he wanted to shout at her for saying yes. But then he realized he has no right to do it. 

For a moment, he wanted to bring the contract but he didn't freaking wanted to blackmail her again not at least on the time when his heart is against it. 

" Make her yours. The bullshit contract can not bound her to yourself for forever. Stop her before it is too late" His heart said. 

Ace thought for a while then smiled like he won a lottery. 

He took out his phone and called his manager. 

"Yes sir," His manager said. 

"Do I have any meeting outside the country next week?" Ace asked him. 

"Yes sir. You have a board meeting in Paris. But it is after ten days" His manager said. 

"Okay," Ace said and disconnected the call. 

Then he sat down on his chair just when he heard a soft knock at his door. 

Ace looked at the glass door and found Amelia was standing outside with a cup of coffee. 

Ace smiled and spoke up," Come in" 

Amelia entered his room immediately. 

'What brings you here Ms. John?" Ace asked her. 

Amelia looked at him with confusion. Just a few times ago he was looking sad but now he is smiling. 

"I thought you need coffee sir," Amelia said to him. 

Ace smiled hearing this. 

"Okay. Come here, give it to me" Ace said. 

Amelia went towards him and give him the cup. 

Ace took the cup and took a sip but his eyes went widen in shock. 

Ace put the cup on the table and looked at Amelia. 

"Take the cup," Ace said. 

"What?" Amelia asked with confusion. 

"I did not know you have hearing problem. If I had known it I should have think twice before hiring you. I said take the cup" Ace said. 

Amelia took the cup. 

"Drink it," Ace said. 

"But sir, it is your coffee," Amelia said. 

"I know it is mine. And I want to take a sip. Now do it" Ace said. 

Amelia gave him a confused look then took a sip and her eyes went widen. 

She was so lost in Ace that she didn't realize she mixes a lot of sugar in it. 

"How was it?" Ace asked her. 

"I am sorry sir. I will bring you another one" Amelia said hurriedly and was about to turn but Ace held her arm. 

Amelia looked at him. 

Ace took the cup from her hand and put it on the table then stood up. 

"You didn't come here to give me this coffee. You come here for another reason. What was it?" Ace asks her

Amelia looked at him with shock. 

"How did he come to know about it?" She thought. 

Amelia looked at him and spoke up"No. I have really come here to give you the.....

"Sugar full coffee when you know I only like black coffee. You must be disturbed when you were making the coffee. What was the reason?" Ace asked her

"It is nothin.....ahhhhh" Amelia screams in shock when he pinned her against the wall but not roughly. 

"I want truth" Ace said in his husky tone. 

Amelia looked at him and got lost in his beautiful deep blue eyes. 

"What was it, baby?" Ace asked her while roaming his finger on her face. 

Amelia felt her legs her went jelly. She would have fallen if Ace did not hold her tightly. 

"Ace, I will fall," Amelia said with difficulty as his touch was doing something to her. 

Ace chuckle hearing it. 

"You won't till I am with you. I will never let you fall. Now tell me the reason" Ace said. He wanted to hear that she came here for him, not for that stupid coffee. 

"You were looking sad in my cabin so..."

"So you have come here to cheek me if I okay or not?" Ace complete her sentence. 

"Yes," Amelia said. 

A satisfactory smile displayed on his hearing. He got the answer he was expecting. 

Ace's heart fills up with happiness thinking that she cares for her. 

Ace cupped her face gently and made her looked at him. 

Amelia looked at him and saw a beautiful smile displaying on his lips. Unknowingly she felt relaxed. 

"It was work pressure baby. Nothing else. Now go make a cup of coffee for me but this time I want black one" Ace said to her. 

Amelia nodded and tried to remove his hand so she can go but he kept holding her. 

Amelia looked at him again. 

"Thank you for thinking about me," Ace said and kissed her cheek. He kept his lips against her skin. 

Amelia fisted his coat tightly. She felt butterfly was dancing, in her stomach. 

Ace moved back and removed his hand. 

"Now go before I lose my control and kiss you again and but time real kiss," Ace said. 

Amelia's cheeks went pink in shyness. She ran out from there with a shy smile.
