Violetta

Nova Diner.

Alaric piled food onto my plate, a smile that touched the corners of his face was plastered on. Staring at him, I couldn't help but feel guilt tripping up my neck.

I was only here because I had thought he would definitely have some important information about a certain someone, but seeing him genuinely excited made me feel like a villain.

I forced a smile on my face, holding a hand out to stop him from piling more food on my plate. "Let me try these first," I said.

  • The Hockey Legend's Obsession    Not Solved.

ViolettaI paused, parting my lips to speak but I couldn't get any words out. I settled in my chair, baffled by the absurdity of his words. I wanted to ask him why he was here in the first place but apparently he was forced. My eyes wandered, and I finally settled on the only word I could choke out. "Why?" I asked. Jace stared back at me but he didn't look ready to answer my question, his face was cold, and his eyes were twitching a little. Finally, he sighed. "Do you even know who I am?" he asked. "Jace Hendry," I responded without taking a breath, but a soft smile rose onto his face, not the type that seemed nice but the one that sent chills down my spine. "Anything else?" he asked. I parted my lips to speak, the words ready slipped out but I swallowed them back. I could get his perspective. I didn't know about them, not even the most basic information, but I had only known them for a few months, I couldn't know that much details."I'm genuinely remorseful, this isn't some.."

  • The Hockey Legend's Obsession    Forced Him Out.

Violetta I blinked, lowering my eyes to avoid his gaze. My heart pounded against my ribs, and I forced my eyes back up to meet his. There was nothing! He... definitely wasn't thinking that way. Right. I caught his eyes, and saw the unwavering look of anger, possessiveness, and a subtle hint of jealousy. That wasn't it. Definitely not. I cleared my throat before I spoke. "Why shouldn't he have it?"Jude frowned, his eyes darkening. "You are fine with him having it?" he stepped closer, closing the little gap between us. His Adam's apple bobbed, and he finally settled on a word. "Why?"Heat rose onto the nape of my neck, and I could hardly breathe. Taking the last bit of strength I had in me, I pushed him. I turned the other way, forcing a smile onto my face, while trying to steady my breathing. "It's only for official business, it's not that big of a deal," I said. Silence stretched out between us for a few seconds, and when I turned to catch his eyes, I could see him step back a fe

  • The Hockey Legend's Obsession    Between Us.

ViolettaA knock came on the door, and I opened the door to find Alaric standing there. “I heard you came back late last night, I figured you might need this,” he said, handing me a cup of coffee. “Thanks,” I smiled, checking it out. It wasn't the way I liked my coffee, but I still appreciated the effort. His eyes drifted around, and I tilted my head slightly to catch his gaze. "Is there anything else?" I asked. He looked up to catch my gaze but he still hesitated before he spoke, clearing his throat. "Is there something between you, and Jude?" he asked. His question caught me by shock. I froze, processing his words. His question was actually valid. Judging from what happened yesterday, I could see where he was coming from. "No," I said, pulling a smile onto my face. "What made you ask?" I asked, and his eyes dropped, he took a deep breath before he spoke. "Yesterday..." he trailed off, expecting me to get the hint, and I did. That was the only reason he would think like that,

  • The Hockey Legend's Obsession    Apology.

Violetta That was enough to snap him out of it as he picked up his spoon, and began eating but in the next moment, I heard heavy footsteps behind me. I turned to see Izel, Henry, and Luke walking in. "You really are here," Luke remarked, and I turned back to the two people at the table, Jude raised a hand in the air, and Kelvin. He had his face buried in his palms, muttering some words that I couldn't make out. "How could you have a celebration without us? I'm feeling betrayed," Luke said, and I turned back to catch their faces. A smile rose on my face. "You can.." I didn't get to complete my words before they took the empty seats beside us. "This is really good," Henry said, taking a bite of the food, his eyes darted across the table, and I could see Jude pointing at Kelvin who still had his head buried in his palm. "You're paying for this?" Henry asked. "Thank you," he added and Kelvin snapped his head up. I could see his eyes twitching, and I covered my mouth with my hands,

  • The Hockey Legend's Obsession    Investments Restored.

Violetta The place was cleared up, all the reporters had left, and I could finally breathe easy. There was no need to be scared about this again. I had finally dealt with the past that I couldn't seem to let go. Jude walked towards me, a smile plastered on his face. "You handled it well," "Thank you," I said, parting my lips to speak again but Kelvin interrupted me. "The feedback is excellent," he said, walking towards me but then he paused, his eyes dropping back to the phone. "He made the video," he added, shoving the phone in my face. Andrew was in it, and he addressed what he had said before, that alone was enough to change the public's opinion towards me. "At least he is trustworthy," I said, handing the phone back to him. He gave me a thumbs up, and I rose up to my feet. "Will you make the reservations or should I do it?" I asked, and his smile dropped. Kelvin blinked, taken aback by my words. He must have thought I was joking, or he had just forgotten about it.

  • The Hockey Legend's Obsession    A Press Conference.

Violetta I blinked. I parted my lips to speak but I swallowed my words. Something in me told me that he wasn't talking about the terms listed in the document. His hands dropped, and he relaxed in his chair. "I know you started contacting people, and I also know that it was targeted at you. I see your efforts, but it isn't enough. You still need to find the perpetrator," he paused, leaning in closer. "Not only find them, but also make sure they get punished. That's the only true compensation you could give," he finished. I froze, staring back at him. I never knew that his reasoning went that deep. Now it made sense why he said he was waiting for me. I cleared my throat. "I'll make sure I do," I said. We stared at each other, and now, he didn't look so scary anymore but rather looked like someone who had been ruined by a rumour. A smile curled up at the corner of his lips. "He'll finally get rest," he said, signing the papers, and handing them back to me. A small burst of happine
