LOGINPaige's POV"Paige? Knox? Are you guys—" Leah's voice cut through the corridor.I jumped away from Knox so quickly that I nearly stumbled over my own feet.Oh, my God.My heart was pounding so hard I could practically hear it in my ears.Knox looked so unaffected, like his sister hadn't almost walked into us.Leah appeared, her eyes moving between the two of us. "Well, I'm impressed that you two haven't torn each other's heads off yet."Knox scoffed. "Give us time. It'll come.""See?" Leah pointed at him. "Can't you go five minutes without being insufferable?""Can you?" Knox retorted.I pressed my lips together, fighting the urge to laugh. They bickered for a while before Leah turned to me, a smile plastered on her face."Paige, you were amazing out there!"I blinked. "Huh?""With the reporters!" She stepped closer, practically bouncing on her feet. "The way you told them Knox had no comment? So professional! I felt my cheeks warm. "Well, I just thought they were being a little too
Paige’s POV“He has no comment.” I stood beside him. His jaw was rigid, but his eyes looked strangely distant. One minute, I was standing beside Leah, watching the reporters crowd around Knox. The next, I was walking towards them, and those words were coming out of my mouth.I didn’t know how I’d recognised it, but something told me Knox didn’t want to be talked to the press. Now, my hand was resting on his arm. His enormous arm.I’d always known he was tall. But standing this close to him, made the size of him impossible to ignore. His arm alone looked bigger than my entire head.Paige. Seriously?“Miss, we’re asking him a question,” one of the reporters insisted, pushing his microphone closer.“And I’ve told you he has no comment,” I replied, trying to clear a part out with my other arm.“Are you his representative?”“Yes, as a matter of fact, I am. And Mr Tatum has no comment.” The words left my mouth before I could think.Since when did I willingly agree to be his representative?
Knox POV.“We fucking did it.” Woody raised his hockey stick in the air, skating in circles. I was laughing before I even realised it.For the first time in years, I was actually having fun playing hockey. I looked around at my teammates, who were already goofing around. Lord, I love this team.Enzo pulled back just enough to look me in the face. “Tell me you saw that last shot.”“I took the shot, idiot,” I said, a grin plastered on my face. He laughed. “You know what this means, Cap?” The crowd was still cheering, “We are going to the nationals” I rolled my eyes at the nickname, but I couldn’t stop smiling. “Keep calling me that, and I’ll make you regret it.”“Worth it, because you're already our Captain.” I shoved his shoulder; he skated away laughing. A few minutes later, we were allowed to mingle with the fans gathered around the rink. I was talking to one of the younger fans when someone crashed into my side.“Knox!” I barely had time to turn before Leah threw her arms aroun
Knox POVThe moment my skates touched the rink, the arena erupted.“KNOX!”. “LET’S GO, TATUM!”I lifted my stick in acknowledgment, a grin tugging at the corner of my mouth.Adrenaline surged through me. Even if it was the last thing I did, I was going to turn this game around and make it to Nationals.I pushed off, skating toward my teammates as they gathered around the center of the rink. “Remember what we discussed. Don’t force the middle. Enzo, make them commit to the boards, and watch their left defenseman. Parker, push forward; I want you looking for the space behind him.”Enzo laughed breathlessly beside me. “Let's go, let's give our school something worth screaming about.”………..Cornels came at us aggressively, just as I’d expected. They had a three-goal lead, and they knew it. Their confidence was almost tangible. They expected us to panic.“Hold your positions guys!” I shouted as one of their forwards carried the puck down the right side. Woody moved to cut off the passing
Knox’s POV.The moment the referee blew his whistle, the game began. It was intense from the first second. As Coach had predicted, the opposing team seemed thrown off by our starting lineup. And for the first few minutes, Coach’s plan seemed to be working. We moved the puck well, kept our formation tight, and managed to get past their first line of defense a couple of times. Enzo nearly created an opening in front of their goal, but their goalkeeper caught the shot before it could find the net. Then the opposition found their rhythm. And they made us pay for every mistake.Their first goal came twelve minutes into the game. One moment, Woody was chasing the puck along the boards. The next, their winger had intercepted his pass and sent it straight to a teammate breaking toward our goal. Our defense scrambled to recover, but the forward got his shot off before anyone could close him down. The puck hit the back of the net.1–0.“Fuck.”I leaned forward on the bench, my eyes following
Knox's POV"I expect you to be home for Thanksgiving this year." My father's voice from earlier that day echoed in my head, cutting through Coach Preston's pep talk.He had managed to turn a simple conversation about the holidays into another argument about my future. Exactly why I had been avoiding his calls. My shock had manifested itself in the form of a sharp laugh. "No, thanks. I'll pass.""You're finishing school this year, Knox. You need to come home and start getting involved in the company.""We've had this discussion a hundred times. I don't want the company. I want hockey."Then came the words I'd been expecting and dreading in equal measure."After what happened in the States, I thought you would have come to your senses by now."My jaw tightened. There it was. No matter how many times I told him what I wanted, my father always found a way to drag the past into the conversation."No matter what you say, I'm not coming home for Thanksgiving."When he spoke again, his voice
CHAPTER FOURPAIGES POVIt was almost four o’clock in the morning by the time I finally got to my apartment. It was too quiet.Leah was probably sleeping, judging by the fact that she didn't jump me with questions. I dragged myself upstairs to my room, it appeared as though Leah helped me clear th
CHAPTER THREEPAIGES POVHoly f—The punch landed so hard that Mike staggered backwards crashing into a table. My hand flew to my mouth, barely stopping the scream that tried to escape. I could hear gasps from every corner of the club. People whispering“Wait…”“Isn't that Knox, the hockey player?”

PAIGE’S POVI shaved twiceOnce because I’d missed a spot, and again to ensure it was all smooth down there.I gave my reflection another look in the mirror.
