Jace’s POV

This was it, the final training before the Championship. Every stride, every swing of my stick had to count. My legs burned, my lungs begged for air, but I kept pushing, body moving with sharp, deliberate force as I slammed the puck forward.

“Go, Harrington! You’re on fire!” Coach’s voice thundered from the sidelines, and that rush of approval lit something hot in my chest.

I skated harder, Xavier and Leo flying at my sides like extensions of my own body. They set up a clean pass, quick and perfect, and I didn’t waste it. The puck snapped against my stick, and I drove it into the net with a crack that echoed off the boards.

The whistle shrieked. “That’s what I’m talking about!”

The rink buzzed with the sound of blades scraping ice, shouts bouncing off the glass, and sticks clashing as my teammates pounded approval. My chest rose and fell fast, sweat soaking my jersey, but I couldn’t stop. Wouldn’t stop. This wasn’t just a practice. It was the last rehearsal before the night

  • The Hockey Star's Spicy Stripper   CHAPTER 160

Aria’s POVBy the time I got to the bedroom, Julian was already in bed. The room was pitch black, so dark I had to use my phone's flashlight to navigate without tripping over furniture or banging my injured arm against something. He was facing the wall, his breathing steady, seemingly asleep. I moved as quietly as possible, not wanting to wake him. He'd had a long day, from the hospital stress to the fight with Damien. The last thing he needed was me disturbing what little rest he could get.I was someone who liked to sleep in every position imaginable, sprawled across the bed like a starfish. But now, with my dislocated arm, I was confined to one side, forced to lie carefully on my back, unable to move freely. The restriction felt claustrophobic, suffocating. The moment I settled onto the mattress, his voice came through the darkness."I didn't like the way you handled the situation tonight."It was calm, gentle, almost, but there was an edge underneath. Like he'd been lying there pr

  • The Hockey Star's Spicy Stripper   CHAPTER 159

Aria’s POVThere was a brief pause from my end. Not because I didn't know what to say, but because this felt like a nightmare unfolding in real time. I knew how much finding her baby's father meant to Maya. How she'd talked about it, wondered about it, and obsessed over it during late-night phone calls when the loneliness got too heavy. But if I were being honest with myself, I'd say I'd never actually wanted her to find him.The ultimate reason was simple. He was younger. Much younger. And this was an unplanned child, a one-night stand that had resulted in a pregnancy neither of them had anticipated. Bringing this young man into the baby's life would only cause chaos. More chaos than Maya needed, more complications than either of them could handle."Aria? Are you there?"Her voice jerked me back to reality."Yeah, I am. Sorry, my network was breaking up." The lie came easily, smoothly."Well, did you hear what I said?""I heard you, Maya." I rubbed my temple, trying to organise my th

  • The Hockey Star's Spicy Stripper   CHAPTER 158

Aria’s POVMy alarm pierced through the darkness, jarring me awake from the restless sleep I'd managed to fall into, and the verification process. Of course. Because what this night needed was more complications.I reached over with my good arm to silence the alarm, wincing as the movement jostled my injured shoulder. Every part of my body ached, a constant reminder of the accident, of the chaos my life had become. Then I heard it.Raised voices from downstairs. The crash of something breaking. The unmistakable sound of conflict."Oh God, no."I threw off the covers and stumbled out of bed, my feet hitting the cold floor. My nightgown twisted around my legs as I rushed toward the door, and I should have been more careful, should have remembered my injuries, but panic overrode common sense.I was running down the hallway, taking the stairs too fast, skipping steps in my desperation to reach them before something terrible happened. And then I saw it.Damien's fist connected with Julian'

  • The Hockey Star's Spicy Stripper   CHAPTER 157

Damien’s POV I was in the bar this time, nursing my fourth, fifth, maybe sixth drink. I'd lost count somewhere around the third hour of sitting on this uncomfortable stool, staring at bottles lined up behind the counter like soldiers ready for battle.Apparently, Julian or Jully or whatever the hell Aria called him didn't want me at the hospital. Made it pretty clear with his territorial bullshit and his possessive hand on her shoulder. So I left. Walked out like the coward I was becoming, and ended up here, drowning in whiskey that tasted like regret. My heart was boiling. Not just because of everything I'd been through in the last forty eight hours, though God knows that was enough to break any man. Not just because I'd discovered my fiancée was a fraud and my daughter wasn't mine and my best friend had betrayed me in the worst possible way.No, what really had my blood pumping hot and angry was the fact that this stupid, stupid guy was moving into the mansion. For a week. Maybe lo

  • The Hockey Star's Spicy Stripper   CHAPTER 156

Aria’s POVThe hug lasted longer than it should have. Long enough that I felt his heartbeat slow beneath my palm and felt the tension gradually drain from his shoulders. When we finally broke apart, his eyes were brighter, not happy, but less haunted. Less like a man staring into an abyss."I'm sorry for what happened." His voice was quiet, earnest. "I mean, I didn't know the security would contact you. I would never intentionally do anything to hurt you. I hope you know that.""Yeah, right." The words came out more sarcastic than I intended, but before I could soften them, the door opened.Julian walked in.The room shifted instantly, the air pressure changing, the temperature dropping, everything suddenly charged with uncomfortable tension.Julian's eyes found me first, and I saw the worry etched across his face, the fear that had probably driven him here at breakneck speed. But then his gaze shifted to Damien, who was still sitting on the edge of my hospital bed, close enough that

Damien’s POV. I bolted out of the mansion like a man possessed, my keys clutched in trembling hands, my vision blurred by tears I couldn't seem to stop. The pain in my chest was physical, a crushing weight that made it hard to breathe, hard to think, and hard to do anything but move forward on autopilot.I'd forgotten. In the chaos, in the destruction, in the revelation that my entire life was a lie, I'd completely forgotten.Lily was still in the hospital. My daughter: No, not my daughter, Fred's daughter, was lying in a hospital bed waiting for a blood transfusion, and her biological parents were too busy destroying my life to even ask about her condition. The thought made my stomach churn violently. I gripped the steering wheel tighter, trying to push down the nausea.Fred and Vanessa were useless. Worse than useless. They were parasites who'd fed off my life, my love, and my trust and left nothing but destruction in their wake. And Lily... God, Lily. The image of her tiny face, h
