I scream so hard that I start choking on my own breath.

While starting up the screaming again, I yield the pan in front of me like the lady I am.

"Hey, wait! WAIT!!" the handsome man surrenders with his arms in the air and stands up.

Not moving, I close my eyes as he is fully butt naked, but I keep my fighting stance.

"It's okay," he whispers in his ruff voice and I can hear he is coming closer.

"No, it's not. You're naked," I state with uncertainty and bring the pan closer to me, the 'weapon' m

  • The Human Luna   Chapter 18

The cabin greets me with silence. Not the kind I used to love, the peaceful kind, where the kettle hummed and Python curled up on the windowsill. This silence felt heavier. Like something had been left behind.I step inside, boots thudding softly against the wooden floor. Python meows once, a low, throaty sound, and pads over with slow dignity. He rubs against my leg, tail flicking with silent affection.“I missed you too,” I whisper, the words echoing in the cabin. For years, it was just me and Python, but now the place feels hollow.I crouch down to scratch the cat behind his ears, letting my fingers sink into his thick fur. He purrs loudly, making a smile etch onto my face. "You hungry?" I ask Python, trying to distract myself. It doesn’t help. Thoughts keep circling as I watch him leap onto the counter, tail swishing.Tomorrow I have to go back to work. Back to my regular life. Back to pretending everything is normal. But I don’t feel normal anymore. Somehow, Xavion has become p

  • The Human Luna   Chapter 17

There are only a few days left before my leave ends, and I’m still nestled in the heart of the werewolf pack.I’ve come to enjoy the peaceful rhythm of life they embraced here, tucked deep in the mountains. It’s quiet, calm. Everyone has their own role, their own purpose. And if you walk down the gravel path between the cabins, every single person greets you like family. It’s a close-knit community, no outsiders.Except me, of course. But I seem to be the only one who thinks that. Everyone treats me like I’m already their Luna."Morning," Maggie greets as I step into the nursery, just like I’ve done every day this past week."Good morning," I reply, smiling as I join the children. They’ve just finished breakfast, and I instinctively begin clearing the dishes."Oh, look who's here," Tasia announces as she enters with an empty plastic crate."Morning to you too," I tease, and she waves me off with a grin as she starts collecting plates. I gather the utensils and drop them into the crate.

  • The Human Luna   Chapter 16

"Can we talk now?" I ask Xavion, the wooden beams on the ceiling filling me with immense boredom."Mhm," he nods but doesn't move from his position by my side."Xavion," I warn him with a stronger tone, hoping it gets through to him. It does."I know, I know. I'm sorry," he almost jumps up at the sudden urge to comfort me, my voice having more of an effect on him than I thought. He caresses my cheeks with his large hands and the roughness of his hands with the gentleness of his touch throws me off guard for a moment but I regain my composure. I lean into his touch to let him know I'm not going to throw a fit and he seems to relax a bit at my calmness."I understand you are protective of me, but you have to talk to me so I can understand you better. I can't feel your feelings, unlike you," I softly advise him, remembering I'm human in a pack full of werewolves.I don't let the reminder discourage me because I don't want Xavion to go through another moping session."I was scared. So scar

  • The Human Luna   Chapter 15

I feel a gentle touch on my hand and glance down to see the little girl with the teddy bear trying to reach me. Her small fingers brush mine, and I realise she must have sensed my nerves growing more haywire by the second. "Thank you," I whisper with a soft smile, crouching down to reach her eye level and interlocking our hands. She offers me her own smile, letting her blonde hair fall over her face as she shyly glances down. Tasia mutters something under her breath, and before I can even look up, she rushes to the front door while yelling over her shoulder, "I'll be right back!" Her words catch me off guard, and before I can even process what happened, she is already out of sight. Too afraid to look out the window again, I stay in my spot on the ground and lean back against the wall. I slightly adjust my posture to let the little girl take a seat beside me. She makes herself comfortable by leaning into my side, so I remove my hand interlocked with hers and pull her into a lax si

  • The Human Luna   Chapter 14

"Ah!" I yelp as a werewolf toddler launches himself onto my back while I’m sitting cross-legged on the carpeted floor."Jackson, wait!" I panic, preparing to gently catch him as he scrambles over my shoulder, clearly wanting to leap dramatically into my lap. We tumble together, landing in a heap. I twist mid-fall to make sure Jackson lands on me and not the floor.I exhale sharply, wind knocked out of me, but relief floods in when I see Jackson sprawled across my stomach, giggling like it’s the best ride he’s ever had."Jackson!" Maggie scolds the young boy from across the room. The boy jumps, startled, and bolts off without a second thought, leaving me breathless and flat on the floor.Another face pops up above me, her long hair tickling my face. The 6-year-old-looking girl offers me a smile and I try to genuinely smile back, but I'm sure the pain is preventing me from doing so.She waves at me before running off, and I groan while pulling myself into a sitting position and notice t

  • The Human Luna   Chapter 13

I wake up to the sun's rays burning my face through the curtains. As I gain consciousness, clattering and movement can be heard and as the waft of food hits my nostrils, I realise what's happening.Breakfast.I groan into the pillow before throwing the duvet from my body. My body rolls itself out of bed and I wobble a few steps toward the bathroom before gaining enough control over my body to freshen up.A knock on the door makes me slightly jump as I finish pulling a shirt over my head."Heard you're awake," Xavion's voice states from the other side of the door.I pull the door open with a smile and greet him with a "Good morning to you too."He chuckles under his breath and continues to wish me a good morning. "Yes, good morning. Do you want to come down for breakfast?""Give me one sec," I hold my hand up before grabbing a pair of shoes and sliding into them.I nod my head to indicate I'm ready and Xavion takes my hand into his own as he gently starts leading me down the stairs. As

"Get a shirt," I advise Xavion while hopping down the stairs, Python padding behind me like a shadow. The living room is a maze of sleeping bodies. I leap over limbs and tangled blankets to reach Python’s bowl, pouring his food with practised ease. He slips through the chaos like mist and hops onto

I haven’t moved from my spot, still scanning the group when I spot him.Is that Koray? The black wolf with green eyes nods—and I know.He steps forward, and his body begins to shift. It seems like something is bothering Xavion during breakfast. So I do the unthinkable—I reach out and gently place my hand on his shoulder. He flinches, just slightly, at the sudden contact. • The Human Luna   Chapter 7

It's been two weeks.Maybe that whole encounter with the dream guy wasn’t real.First of all, I was way too calm. Maybe I really am going crazy. Secondly, he vanished into thin air after walking out my door. And lastly, Koray was lying in his cage when I snapped back to reality and followed the guy
