Chapter 5

Alex pov cont.: -

I took the last left turn, proceeding ahead to the familiar road which leads to my parent's house at the end of this ally.

The same pine trees and the street lights highlight my way to their prestigious mansion located in downtown London. This area is one of the wealthiest areas in London. All the rich CEOs and High-Class actors and artists live nearby.

Driving my car in the forepart of the white, blue-painted house I once used to call my home.Turning the engine off, I once again contemplated the thought of leaving without showing my face. I don't feel like going into that house.

Realizing that there is no point in whining inside a car. I picked up my coat jacket and open the car door.

I made my way to the front porch knocking on the door, waiting patiently for my parent’s butler ‘Arthur’ to open the door.

"Good evening Master Alex. it’s been a long time since you have been around. Let me take your coat please make your way to the drawing-room. Your parents are waiting for you with a beautiful lady to accompany the family for dinner tonight’ Arthur informed me, giving me a wink.

I look at him, exhausted letting out a grumpy sigh. "Seiously"

'My mom never gives up, does she? ‘I spoke. Arthur nods his head in no, agreeing with my speech. This is like a new habit she acquired from god knows where. She is hell-bent to get me married as soon as possible. but if she is my mother, then I am her Son as well.

I was enticed to leave the house at the very same moment (I did warn my dad about this anyway). I exactly was about to turn my body to make my first step to the exit, but the sound of my mother froze me in my steps.

"And where do you think you’re going, young man?’ She asked while coming into the room. “If I remember correctly, we're here to have dinner together.' She completed. Her footsteps stopped. making me cuss under my breath.

I know she is giving me her cold eyes. And darn It for not walking out fast. I don’t want to involve myself in another problem.

So slowly.

I turn my head around catching her cold demeanor just ten steps away from me (ever heard of think of the devil and they shall appear). That saying fits my mom very much.

It’s not like she's a bitch of a mother.

No.

She is a good mom or that’s what she assumed herself to be. in media eyes she is the famous mother of Alexander William who has her son in her palm. but only because I want it to be that way. If words of me being a player got out it will impact many of my client businesses.

My clean image is one of the reasons many investors trusted me in business.

In reality, she used to be my mother, when I was like eight years old and she uses to make me my favorite cake and cookies. We use to be close back then and after that my dad got successful and money rushed to my mom's head, making her a fame whore.

"Mom, I’m glad to see you again how have you been?’ I spoke in hopes that she will let me escape go or moreover forget about it.

"I’m good son’ she said, giving me a smile which changes her face from a cold-hearted woman of beauty she was.

She walked towards me, giving me a small hug and I embraced her back.

Parting away, I looked behind her, finding a young girl just around twenty-two, standing at the doorway of our drawing hall.

I looked at my mom giving her a questioning look.

She smirks to herself, pulling me with her to become close to the girl and pushing me a little too close to her. I rolled my eyes at her matchmaker's brain (is she that desperate to see me married). I mean I’m just 28 not 82 for god sake...

'Son meets April Simpson she is the daughter of Mr. Simpson the owner of golden price Music Company isn’t she just beautiful’ my mom said, gushing over the girl and giving her a smile of approval.

I nodded my head in acceptance, not feeling the need to speak out my opinion. The girl was pretty beautiful, more like the type I use for my one-night stand. but I was extremely tired.

I winked at her and she blushed much to my liking to a color of tomatoes. (So, my charm is not melting at all) I thought so.

'Mom, I need to get changed first before the dinner I told my mom’. She looked me up and down, scrunching up her nose in disapproval of my state.

‘Ok, go upstairs and freshen up then come down in thirty minutes. We are setting out late for the dinner ‘she said making her way back to the drawing-room leaving April and me alone.

When I moved my head around, I came face to face with the ‘oh so call Lady’ my mom chooses for me as a blind date and found her drooling over my looks. she looked up, catching me giving her the wtf look, and blushed again. She got a couple of steps forward closing the distance between us.

‘I will be waiting for you handsome, don’t take too long she said in the huskiest voice she could muster up, blinking her eyelashes a little too much time to make her look like she got some eye problem.

She kissed my left cheek and followed my mom's path to our living room, leaving me a little shocked at her attempt at seducing me.

(so, the little kitty wants to play, why not, I thought).
