Chapter 11 - Darren
He’s getting in my head, and that’s gotta stop. I don’t let people mess with my head. Never did, and indeed my time in the military reinforced that. It’s not just that he’s getting in my head. It’s that he’s playing me like a damn fiddle.
I’ve had exes trying to play me, to twist me around their fingers and see if they can make me dance to their tune. It’s never worked. And I’m not about to let that change now. I am not that type of man.
