Chapter Three

She sensed the change in him as did their teacher and it was never more evident than when they discussed the changing roles of the female wolves within the Pack. Mr Lagon had hoped that with Tegan’s help, Caspian would be a better role model than his father, the Alpha was the worst possible role model, he was a sexist, misogynistic male who thought the sole purpose of the female was to pleasure him. He kept a dozen human females in his own personal harem, they were locked in a cage in his barn and when he wanted a little fun he would drag one of them out, rip off what little clothing she would have on and rape her in front of the others. He wanted them to know that this would be their fate, they were there to please him and if they tried to resist, a few actually did try and had their lives snuffed out when he rammed his hard cock so far down their throats they choked to death. Caspian witnessed this on numerous occasions, at first he had been appalled and begged his father not to hurt the ‘little humans’ as he called them. For his compassion, he had been backhanded by his father and sent reeling across the room landing in a heap his head ringing with pain. The human females had watched as the little Alpha heir had changed right before their eyes becoming cold and unfeeling watching his father stoically and silent.

‘So in conclusion I think we can all agree that females are just as intelligent and capable of doing everything that the male can do.’

Mr. Lagon smiled at his class surprised when Caspian put up his hand,

‘Do you have something to add to that Caspian?’

The young boy who had grown a little in the two months since he had set that first test,

‘As the future Alpha, I have had unprecedented access to the way my father works and I have to say that you are very wrong. There is no way a female is capable of being an Alpha, they are not physically strong enough nor are they as intelligent. Males are far superior in every way and it is better if the females just accept they are meant to stay at home and do as they are told. The male will look after them and their children and all she has to do is keep her male happy. It is the way it has always been and when I become Alpha I see absolutely no reason to change things.’

There was a sharp intake of breath from beside him and Tegan growled low in her throat her lip curled in disgust as she spat,

‘You seriously believe that you are more intelligent than me?’

He saw Caspian turn to her confusion lifting an eyebrow he told her,

‘Of course I am, you haven’t beaten me in a test for months. It’s like my father always told me, I am the Alpha heir and I will always be top of the class.’

He watched in horrified fascination as the boy patted his little friend on the head condescendingly and retook his seat beside her confident in his assumption that he had been proved right all along. The teacher saw Tegan take a deep breath and her beautiful eyes met him, the raw anger there shocked him and he knew Caspain was in for a shock and almost certainly a lot of beatings from his father. The little hybrid would not protect her friend further she was practically vibrating with rage as he gave them some work to do for the rest of the day and as they were getting ready to leave later he saw a big smile spread across her face when he said,

‘Make sure you revise your Algebra pages tonight people, there will be a test tomorrow.’

Caspian was completely unperturbed by the news,

‘Do you want to hang out when we get home?’

He asked his friend and did not understand when she shook her head,

‘No, I’m going to revise for the test.’

He had shrugged disappointedly and then sneered,

‘I guess being a girl you need to practise more than I do.’

It was a low dig at her and he knew it but she just nodded her head and disappeared to her room she did not need to revise she already knew she would ace this test. Instead, she sat cross-legged on her bed closed her eyes and let her mind go blank, Tegan was a hybrid, half wolf but her other half was a closely guarded secret. She would not come into her full powers until she matured, it was the same for the Werewolves, they would not get their wolves until their bodies were mature enough to handle them. It was why Alphas always got their wolves long before everyone else, they were the biggest and strongest in the Pack so it stood to reason that their wolves were also more powerful.

Tegan was beginning to understand what her other was and it both excited and terrified her because neither Caspian nor his father was going to be happy about it. Breathing deeply her whole body relaxed and a smile spread across her pretty face,

‘Good Afternoon little Princess, shall we begin today’s lesson?’

When they set off for school the next morning Caspian was his usual chatty self barely noticing how quiet his friend was,

‘Tegan, why aren’t you answering my questions? Are you worried about this test? Come on, you know you are going to finish behind me but we’ll still be far ahead of the rest of them, there’s no disgrace in coming second to the Alpha heir.’

He was so condescending Tegan wanted to strike out at him but it was too soon, they were far too young and she knew his father would not spare her if she hurt his precious heir. Turning to him she gave him an enigmatic smile that he completely misconstrued,

‘There’s my girl.’

He grinned back at her and took her hand pulling her into his arms, in human years they looked like preteens, around eleven or twelve in another four months both would grow quickly into their maturity.
