After almost an hour, the police and the paramedics finally leave. The police have Maci in custody because she tried to kill Bronwen. They took mine and Bronwen's statements, having us sign some papers. I will never forget the terror that I felt when I rounded the corner, looking for Maci, only to find her choking Bron's limp body.
Bronwen's face had been purple and her eyes were closed. At first I thought she was dead and I nearly passed out on the spot. I have never felt such relief as I did when I finally reached her and she moaned. I knew that she was alive and I have never been happier.
