Annie's day was boring. She had yet to be enrolled in any design program and so instead she spent the day watching TV. Chris came over an hour into some TV show Annie couldn't really pay attention to. He was now making some food and a drink for the two to have for lunch. The air was awkward, even when they were in different rooms. They didn't really have anything to talk about. There was no history between the two, so nothing to discuss. It was well over two hours before the meal was finished. Annie had heard the front door opening and closing multiple times and more voices joining in with the original two in the living room. Annie's anxiety was playing with her. Pushing her and playing with her. Annie had never been a social butterfly, now she would be socializing with the group that had kidnapped her. They had ripped her from her ordinary life and had thrusted her into a new one. This new life with unfamiliar people that she knew nothing about. She didn't know what to expect and so she decided she would have to expect the unexpected. That would be the only way she could survive until she was set free. Alexander woke up with a new mind for vengeance. After a delicious meal and a decent night's sleep for the first night in many years, Alexander had a new energy and now he needed to find the leak. Alexander could only blame himself. He allowed himself to ignore the signs for too long. He had been unwilling to admit he could not control his people, as well as his father, could. As far as he knew, his father never ever had a leak. He had ruled on fear, just like he did within Alexander's childhood home. Alexander's childhood memories are dark blurs of fear, poked by small brighter pockets of happiness. In each and every pocket of happiness, his mother was there. His mother had been the centre of Alexander's happiness until she died much too soon at the hands of her husband, Alexander's father. It had been days since Annie overheard Jason's bazaar conversation. While Alexander's words still rang through her head, Annie still wanted to tell him. Something wasn't right with Jason, the more she watched him. The more she learnt about the dynamics within the group, the more suspicious the half conversation Annie heard became. Annie didn't know how she would tell Alexander, she knew there was a possibility her mind was running away with her. It was highly likely, something that had happened before and she would often allow to happen. Eventually, Annie decided she would just wait, watch and perhaps gather information. It wasn't late when Alexander came back to the house. At least, not as late as he usually did Annie noted. It had been a few hours since Chris left, Annie often wondered where he went. Why was she trusted alone in the house for any amount of time let alone a few hours or more? She assumed there were people outside, she's ashamed to admit she never checked the door, never even tried. The thought hadn't even occurred to her. "Your home early." Annie mused, she was watching some show on the TV, it was nothing she was overly focused on, just something that had become a part of her routine. "It's nearly midnight." Alexander didn’t get home until late again. It had been a long day. He was tired, exhausted. Following his routine he went to the kitchen and found the food Annie had prepared for him hours earlier. He was grateful for her, before she had moved in he couldn’t remember the last time he had a proper meal. However, she didn’t just move in. She wasn’t just some guest from out of town coming to visit, wasn’t a girlfriend he was taking a big step with, she wasn’t here by choice Alexander reminded himself. He was holding her captive. Annie was on edge from the second she woke up the next day. The early morning coffee she had did nothing to ease her nerves. She didn’t have long to wait until Cindy and Bailey showed up, both looking absolutely stunning. Annie felt inadequate next to her friends. Annie smiled brightly at her friends, offering them some of the pancakes she had made that morning. Both girls accepted and the three sat, laughed and chatted. It was another two hours before they ended up leaving.“I need coffee!” Bailey groaned, everyone knew Bailey had more than a small caffeine addiction. “We’ll drop by a starbucks.” Cindy giggled at her friend. Cindy was the one who drove since she had the biggest car.
